This is me reprising my Fever Ray-inspired costume, with more of a kabuki twist this time. Basically yet another slight variation on the same costume I’ve worn every year since about ‘05 or ‘06, whenever I got this fancy kimono. I would wear a kimono every day, like Rob Lowe’s character in “Thank You For Smoking,” but you know… people would talk. I’d be that guy. The guy that wears a kimono every day to work. In Burbank.

New exciting information!A recent update from Michael Dimartino Tumblr posting "More Korra excitment! Some more sneak peeks of book 2 characters. Desna, Eska, and Varrick."New exciting information!3 years ago in Personal More Like This
First up, Desna (left) and Eska (right) , Korra’s cousins:
DESNA (Waterbender), ESKA (Waterbender)
Korra’s cousins are sixteen year-old twins who have a strange connection and seem to communicate without saying a word. They’re both Waterbenders, and when they work together they can accomplish amazing feats, such as shooting entire icebergs at opponents. Korra has always found them incredibly annoying because they look down on her for being a rube from the South, even though she’s the Avatar.
Next up, shipping magnate and facial hair enthusiast Varrick, presumably not to be confused with the Dragon Age character of the same name:
Billionaire shipping magnate from the Southern Water Tribe. He’s a little eccentric, but very charismatic. He sp
Book 2 for later this year? + MORE!At a Nick Animation press event, some news more news was released about various nickelodeon animated shows including The Legend of Korra.Book 2 for later this year? + MORE!3 years ago in Personal More Like This
Unfortunately, nothing much was released save for that the date was coming later this year, and an exclusive clip (I'm hoping somebody will upload it somewhere, if anybody finds it please link in the comments!)
While this isn't much news, keep in mind that the last time we got a year date it wasn't actually so far away from the actual date. Even so, "later this year" could even still refer to as late as next fall, or even winter. Still, it's nice to know it's coming this year!
"Exclusive clip?" Yeah, you read that right!
I've been looking for that clip for a wile now, and nothing :/. All i found was a description of said exclusive clip...
The sequence we saw found Korra battling one of these spirits, initially just seen as dark tentacles, surrounded by
Meet Wan, the first AvatarFans of The Walking Dead and Legend of Korra rejoice: Steven Yeun, known to fans of the AMC horror show as Glenn, will be joining the voice cast of the Nickelodeon animated series as Wan, the very first Avatar in existence. Yeun’s character will appear in two episodes titled “Beginnings 1 & 2″ during the second season — aka Book 2: Spirits — debuting later this year.Meet Wan, the first Avatar3 years ago in Personal More Like This
The sequel to the beloved Avatar: The Last Airbender, Legend of Korra debuted last April to 4.5 million viewers, and quickly became the highest-rated show on Nickelodeon. Both series are set in a fictional world where people called “benders” have special abilities that allow them to control one of the four elements (water, earth, air, and fire), but only one person — the Avatar — can control all four and bring balance to the world.
Wan’s story will take place ten thousand years before Korra’s time, and follow the teenage explorer and skilled bender as he tri
A look at Mako and Bolin's pastA new Legend of Korra-related webseries has been released by Nickelodeon, giving viewers a glimpse at Mako and Bolin’s hard-luck childhood.A look at Mako and Bolin's past3 years ago in Personal More Like This
A new short webseries called Republic City Hustle debuted today on Nickeldeon.com. Republic City Hustle serves as a small prequel to The Legend of Korra, focusing on the characters of Mako and Bolin as young orphans trying to survive in Republic City.
The beautiful paper-cut animation style of Republic City Hustle is very distinct from The Legend of Korra‘s visual identity. However, the consistent character design and voice work by Korra‘s David Faustino (Mako) and PJ Byrne (Bolin) – as well as the use of music from season 1 – help Republic City Hustle remain perfectly in tone with the Avatar universe.
Republic City Hustle will be told in three parts, and will continue next week (August 16). Check out the first installment right here:

“After the finale, The Legend of Korra fans can learn more about the mythology and creation of this franchise by tuning into the "Nicktoons" “Korra: Making of a Legend” special event from July 9 – July 20 during which all twelve episodes from Season 1, Book 1 will air weekdays at 9:00 p.m. (ET/PT). Each “creators cut” episode offers insight into the creation of the stunning imagery, mythology and storyline where series creators and executive producers, Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, provide commentary.”
Sounds great! But if you don’t have Nicktoons it will be posted up in a journal when someone record it and put it online; that way people who don’t have Nicktoons and or live outside the U.S can watch it too.
