Birthday wish gone rightHow is it that when you think everything has settled into a routine something changes to shatter all that you know? I may never know, but things always change right? Well I wasn't expecting the change that happened today.
It was a normal day, well not normal for me, wake up, get dressed and run around the base for morning exercise, but here's the difference, it was my ninteenth birthday, and I had taken off the next few days to do things... mainly just be lazy. But I get a phone call as I'm walking out after breakfast by someone that I didn't expect.
"Incoming call from: Shyren." Shyren? Hadn't heard from him in months. I accept the call and lobby outside.
"What's up Red?"
"Nothing much Shane, but happy birthday man."
"Thanks, So how's it going with you?"
"Got my job back and got the supervisor fired at the same time, I take it you're still in the airforce?"
I get sarcastic with him "No, I'm a mailroom clerk."
He barks a short laugh "Then you have seriously downgraded my friend. So are

I was staring at a dragon, red scales from head to tail, maybe six feet high and twice as long, it came out on the ground on all fours, a set of black horns curved their way over it's neck, I was absolutely frozen by suddenly seeing something like this... then it's brown eyes lock with mine, it had this frenzied look in them, the r

Sadly, I was not as lucky with regard to my wallet, as I discovered that it contained a grand total of two dollars. Still, I had to eat, as my stomach had grumbled during the first lecture of the day. Thankfully, I was able to afford a cup of fruit punch and a plate of chicken rice.
Having not much time left before the next lesson, I wolfed down the food, together with the punch, which tasted strange. Something told me that my stomach would give me trouble over it later.
I was right, and throughout the entire day, my stomach was churning, and my organs felt as it they were going on a tour of my entire body. This led to my loss of concentration during the subsequent lessons, and I w
Aerie Yet again it was time for plowing. I dreaded this time of year since it meant that I would have to work next to the horses for long periods. The horses always were nervous when I was around, so much so that plowing became nearly impossible. Once I had asked my father why he did not plow while I cleared away the rocks. He had replied that I was too young to be doing such heavy work.Aerie3 years ago in Settings More Like This
So this year, like every one previously, he hitched up the horses, lined the plow up for the first furrow, turned to me as I stand off to the side and said, "Alright, all yours."
I stepped forward, took the reigns, and like every year that I could remember, the horses instantly began blowing and stomping nervously. "Go ahead, ' my father encourages. So I started.
Again, the same story as the years before. No matter what I tried to do, the horses simply tried to get away from me. The plow leaned and jerked, and the furrow veered drunkenly.
My Dragon Family PrologueIt was close to sunset as two siblings, brother and sister were walking home. The sister is named Jessica and she is 17 years old. In their family, they had a tradition to make a bracelet of crystal beads worn when a child turned 10 years of age. The beads were of various favorite colors of each family member. Kyle was being teased by schoolmates since he had begun wearing his.
"Well, Kyle, it's our family tradition. Don't let their teasing brother you."

The Two of Us - Chapter 1Jason shut the front door of his house behind him after a long and boring day at school. He was your average seventeen year-old student: black hair, blue eyes, average height. hated school like everyone else. "Hello?" he called out into the house. There was no answer. Hmm, he thought, I suppose I'm alone. He was an only child and only lived with his mum after his dad vanished. He placed his bag on the floor next to his desk and turn his computer on. While eating his bread, he waited for the co
The Spring“Man, this is boring.” Daniel muttered, tugging at his backpack straps and adjusting it a little. The forest trail that he was walking along bore no point of particular interest, apart from the thousands of trees and other samples of greenery that smothered his view. He could’ve been at home now, playing video games or maybe taking a stab at some of his art, but nooo, he was out here hiking along some stupid trail because his parents thought it would’ve been a good idea to drag him out for some fresh air.The Spring2 years ago in Short Stories More Like This
The trail along the mountainside was, apart from being very boring, also damp and muddy, for it had rained the night before, softening the ground below him and reducing it to a brownish mulch that would probably stain his clothes, were he to fall. Trailing his parent’s careful steps along the path, he sighed again, looking to the sky for some sort of divine intervention that would save him from the torment of boredom.
The hike trailed out far and long, up

I laid curled up on my bed reading a book Father had given me from his ventures out of the cave. The book I was reading was "Lord of the Rings". It was written by a human called JRR Tolkien. I love reading human literature and I would love to one day venture into the towns and cities and see what other literature I could find from the remains of the humans that used to live here.
My name is Ash, I'm a sixteen year old bipedal dragon. I'm about six foot tall, my scales are sky blue as are my wings. I also look like every other dragon, with me having two white horns protruding from the back of my head.

While I'm honoured that you'd like to read my works, I regrettably have to inform you that this story has been discontinued after eight chapters and a sidestory merge. There won't be any more chapters in this story, sadly.
I am however working on a new project that will hopefully outshine this old gal - it's going to be released some time in the future, and I hope you'll be there to read that was well.
If you can deal with this story ending abruptly with no end in sight, then by all means read on, and dream.
People dream. It's natural. Daydreams you usually control and you can make them whatever you want. Sometimes they get forgotten, sometimes they spring back to life after a long time, or just a heartbeat. Sometimes, they come true.

I slowly sat up and stretched the kinks in my human form out, ready for another day of college. However, I knew my mind would be on another thing entirely the whole day. That thing – or rather, my means of accessing it - entered my vision as soon as I entered the front room of my apartment. It was a large, angular pod covered with multiple silver panels. Each panel was peppered with lights, levers and screens. On the very top was a translucent black case, through which I could barely see a helmet with a straw attached to it. This was the VUP – the Virtual Universe Pod. It would allow me to enter a digital world where I could take on any form I wished, including that of my Lung dragon character. That, right there, was what made the whole thing worthwhile… forget the fact that I could traverse into the realms of any video games I had placed in my VUP, or access an infinitely customizable realm of my own (although that last part did

"Thank you and good night!" I said, sending the last costumer away.
I slumped on my chair and sighed. It had been a hell of a weekend. I worked nearly non-stop for two days and I was dead tired. Cashier life isn't as easy as one might think, particularly at this time of the year: Christmas. Fortunately, I was free to do whatever I wanted for the next two days, and I'd take the most advantage of it.
I snapped out of my thoughts and called my supervisor to end my working day. She arrived rather quickly, to my surprise. Looks like I wasn't the only one looking forward to a comfortable bed. She "bled" out the money on my pay-box, cashier jargon, and I quickly counted fifty Euros, the fund, for the next worker for the following day. We then proceeded to the vault and deposited everything there. Minor pleasantries and goodbyes exchanged, I went to the changing room to trade my uniform, which consisted on a white shirt, black trousers and steel toed shoes, along wi

He had to split the bills with his friend Will, but it was still great.

A letter that is all it took for my life to be turned upside down. I had to make a decision between a friend and a passion. The choice between keeping that friend or destroying him.
I should explain what happened. On May fourth, 2012, dragons returned to the world. Not all people were a hundred percent human; a bloodline ran in people all around the world the world. This bloodline was of course draconic; for some reason the gene was reactivated in a bunch of random people.
Changing people of all ages, races, and gender into dragons. They are capable of speech and do not eat people for they have kept their intelligence. Still some humans did not trust these creatures, these men and women were called The Hunters.
Standing against the dragons; they only accepted the best fighters to slay these beasts. Claiming that the dragons would rise and destroy humans it left the remaining humans uneasy. How could one not fantasizing about fighting dragons even if
