Concept of sci fi rifle - Vulcan. I designed it as pair for pistol I did earlier. ([link]) To make contrast, rifle body is made of plastic. Whole collection is meant to be from future but not too futuristic. To keep it believable I used standart scope. While pistol is rough rifle look is clean, shiny and polished.
There are more pictures of this project in my gallery:
Technical facts: Concepting, modeling and rendering is mine. Model is completely highpoly. I used 3ds max and render engine is v-ray. I tried for "clean" look. Model is based only on various dark materials and shadows. In this concept I did not use textures of material at all.
I'm available for freelance job. I prefer mechanical to organic objects.
Is it a railgun? Is this a plasma cannon? Or maybe teh laz0r? No, it's just MSBS prototype rifle (aka Radon), currently under development in Poland by WAT Military Technology University in Warsaw and Łucznik-Radom Weapons Factory. It's chambered for 5.56x45mm standard NATO round. But still, am I the only one getting an impression that the designers played too much Halo or something?
Jokes aside, what is shown here is how the gun's second prototype will look like. The first one, made in bullpup and classical versions, was built to check the weapon's internal mechanisms only and looked much more conventional, in fact somewhat crude (see here: [link]). The fire tests were completed with success.
MSBS stands for Modułowy System Broni Strzeleckiej (Module-based Firearm System). The gun is meant to be easily re-configurable, depending on the needs. The modules in the final version should allow to assembly a classical rifle, a bullpup rifle, both with 2 different barrel lengths, a sniper rifle and a light machine gun. There will also be a 40 mm underbarrel grenade launcher dedicated for the system, with the new thermobaric grenades developed at ZM Dezamet it should kick some serious ass. As a bonus (??), the classical rifle with long barrel will be able to use a bayonet. Don't know what combat effectiveness of this will be on a modern battlefield, but our top brass is allegedly so deranged that they may just go for it (think "Catch 22"). But if the bayonet is going to look as much "sci-fi" as the gun itself, then I completely support it!
The second prototype will already contain parts for assembly of four versions: Classical and bullpup rifle, with short or long barrel (for comparison, check pictures here: [link]).
The gun's model shows the bullpup version with short barrel.
Software used: modeling started in Blender 2.49b, finished, textured and rendered in 2.54 beta. Converted from avi with Pazera Free Video to Flash Converter.
First things first: No, this isn't REALLY a trailer for a new project of mine. No.
This is just something I did for TAFE this term. We were tasked with coming up with an idea for a video game, TV show, or movie, design a bunch of characters, props, backgrounds, storyboard a couple of scenes, and then finally, produce a short animation.
So I did mine based around a game idea Calculon and I came up with a while back titled "LARGE ADVENTURE", and basically? It's just a giant send up of classic RPG adventures.
There's a number of references crammed into this one little trailer, so kudos if you can spot them all.
Ok, THIS one is officially the last one of MLP related fanart. (Unless I find more crap in my files) However, I didn't do this recently. I found this on my external harddrive. I did this like a month ago. It was going to be part of that flash idea I completely scrapped. So just enjoy the loop.
