IGN recently caught up with Wreck-It Ralph director Rich Moore to talk about the film's upcoming Blu-ray release, which features a never before seen animatic depicting one of the story's dropped video game worlds, Extreme EZ Livin' 2. The filmmaker also gave us an update on the sequel and his thoughts on what he'd like to see in a potential followup.
IGN Movies: So I first want to discuss this deleted scene and Extreme EZ Livin' 2. Can you talk a bit about the context of this clip, the Bobby Dunderson character, and how it originally fit into the story?
Rich Moore: Well, Extreme EZ Livin' was this idea that was floated out to Ralph by Bobby Dunderson, who was this kind of ne'er-do-well Hero's Duty character. He told Ralph about this other game that sounded like paradise. It was a place where there were no good guys, no bad guys, just guys -- and girls and sun and surf. It was kind of this Shangri-La where Ralph could forget his troubl

Wreck-it Ralph is leaving the movie theaters and entering the world of video store shelves, so we spoke to the film's director Rich Moore about making the movie. We find out why Mario didn't make an appearance, whether or not there will be a Wreck-it Ralph 2, and what video game Moore would create if he ever decided to leave the world of film making.
Where was Mario? He was referenced but we never actually saw him there. Is there a reason he didn’t show up?
We established a really good relationship with Nintendo on this movie. In fact, all the game companies were really, really cool to work with. They were great partners for the scenes that their characters were in, and they really helped us elevate those scenes with their characters by giving us great notes and helping us out – the nuances of their characters. So, Nintendo was one of those companies that we kind of partnered up with for this film and when we pitched the i

While speaking to director Rich Moore about Wreck-It Ralph’s DVD/Blu-ray (read our review!), we got on the subject of a potential sequel and some big hints were dropped about where the storyline could go.
Our discovery of the Wreck-It Ralph sequel idea being kicked around was unintentionally discovered at first. We had wanted to ask Moore specifically about Ralph’s world and if other Fix It Felix, Jr. arcade games have Ralphs who’s personalities are the same as the character in the movie.
“That is so funny that you ask that,” Moore said with a laugh, “because I was just talking to John C. Reilly [the voice of Ralph] and we were talking about exactly that. Are there other Ralphs? What would happen if another Fix It Felix, Jr. game was plugged in? Are there other Ralphs that are more contemporary? Is there another version of the game that was made for mobile? Are there those kind of Super Smash Brothers t

Ed Helms Discovering the Once-ler FandomWell, I am not sure how many people have heard about this, but today at 3:00 EST, Ed Helms was brutally introduced to Oncest as part of the Once-ler fandom and as the only part because of some overzealous fans. Guess how well that went everyone, he finds that part of fandom to be freaky and its clear he was not exactly happy about it, and I want to inform those that have not heard about this. I want to tell you that the fandom can make it past this, cause even thought the VA for Oncie is not fond of a certain pairing there is more to this fandom to enjoy that goes from Oncie under Truffula trees to him when he is old and trying to get back on his feet, or him actually finding someone to be with.Ed Helms Discovering the Once-ler Fandom3 years ago in Personal More Like This
So I say we keep on biggering, and let the fandom grow, because the constant probing of some fangirls to the VA will not keep us from enjoying our fandom.
Its understandable that some people will leave the fandom, maybe even feel ashamed, but I say if you like the art and you like the fiction.
Wreck-it Ralph Featured @ Animation Magazine ^^Inspired by many of our favorite videogames, Disney’s Wreck-It Ralph delivers a funny, original and heartwarming tale about an 8-bit bad guy in search of a new life.Wreck-it Ralph Featured @ Animation Magazine ^^2 years ago in Personal More Like This
Nobody could have predicted that one of Disney Animation’s best features of the past few years would unfold in the world of 8-bit videogames—an environment famous for its crude and primitive use of animation. It’s even more impressive when you learn about the painstaking process of producing Wreck-It Ralph and how the creative team pushed the limits of CG animation to build the various worlds and diverse characters (over 180 of them) of one of fall’s top movies.
The film’s talented director Richard Moore, a veteran of TV shows such as The Simpsons, Futurama and Drawn Together, was tapped over three years ago by Disney/Pixar Chief Creative Officer John Lasseter to tackle a project set in the world of ’80s arcade games.
“John likes to hear lots of different pitches,
