Applejack is a Vine-Chopping Double-Airplane.Applejack is a Vine-Chopping Double-Airplane.1 year ago in Personal More Like This
Think for a second about the nearly impossible amount of strength it would take to cut a living vine the thickness of a small tree with something as dull as a window without being able to build any momentum.
Alright, let’s do this.
Applejack exerted a certain amount of psi onto a large vine and broke it. How much psi can Applejack generate without a sweat?
We’ll work in SI units in this exercise.
One pascal (SI unit of pressure) is N / m^2
N = newtons of force applied
m^2 = meters squared where pressure is applied.
Let’s first find how many pascals the windowframe first exerts on the vine because of gravity.
N = 9.8 (the gravitational pull of the earth).
A dull window would have a large area exerting force, compared to a sharp, small edge. Various window measurements from Hom

Collection: Haunted HousesCollection: Haunted Houses5 months ago in Art Features More Like This
Coming across a deserted house, whether hidden by the distance of a rolling countryside or by the shadows of adjoining city ghetto dwellings, is like stumbling across an unnoticed, unburied corpse. It is obviously dead now, but once it was full of lives. Coming across a haunted house is different. Deserted or still occupied, it is a place where lives, unsatisfied, have refused to move on into a full death. The houses reflect their tenants. They are living dead structures, refusing to return to dust.
“What terrified me will terrify others; and I need only describe the spectre which had haunted my midnight pillow”
– Mary Shelley
Good news, bad news. It's been a while, things have been a little quiet on DA for me lately. So I apologize for that. It's been a crazy month for me, a lot of personal stuff has happened which has kind of put things on hold for a while.Good news, bad news.2 years ago in Personal More Like This
My father passed away a few weeks ago, it hit me pretty hard because we were really close. His name was Bob Brown, also a great artist and a singer, he was in a rock band back in his day. Anyway I've had some time to adjust to it, trying to get back into the swing of things now
The good news is.. I'm getting married! Me and my beautiful girlfriend Allira went on a holiday just a week ago (had it planned for months) we went to Thailand, also went on the Phi Phi Island tour where I seized the chance and got down on one knee, popped the question, showed her the ring I've been hiding for months, and she said yes! So now we're engaged!
So it's all happening now, I'm very excited about it all. I also just bought a whole new office setup, recently I got the new Cintiq Touch so

Episode VII Stormtrooper v03 by juan7fernandez
It seems the Force has truly Awoken, at least it has here on DeviantArt.
It has been one week since the teaser trailer for the first of the Disney owned Star Wars movies was released. Twitter and Facebook nearly broke under the deluge of postings of the trailer and frame by frame commentary of it. Each commentator hoping to spot something everyone else had missed.

What do you think your favorite city will look like in one hundred years?
Architect Rem Koolhaas has completed a “vertical city” complex in Rotterdam, bringing a new style of multi–purpose skyscrapers to the city skyline. Bennett Stein wrote about the new buildings for KCRW’s Design & Architecture blog, calling the creator “the Godzilla of architecture.”
Here’s an excerpt from Stein’s essay:

What can you tell me about yourself?
I am just a person who puts together wallpapers as a hobby. I generally make all things, such as music, code stuff, I make renders lately. I'm just a simple person.
What is your outlook about art in general?
I like art, I think it's very cool and it's great to be part of a community of others who enjoy it just as much. I don't really plan anything I make, I just do as I feel at the time I feel it.
What was your last project, and what was its outcome?
Art wise was my Desktop Gadgets, that turned out nice I had some interest. Community wise my giveaways and events get alot of activity, my group too
How would you describe your art?
Mostly Desktop wallpapers aside from renders and gadgets. Theres nothing fancy about my art really.
What is your greatest achievement?
My group for deviantart. I am glad it has grown for others to share what they love. :iconbeyond-universe:

This afternoon, a friend of mine and I went bowling, which is usually what we do on Fridays. I got the first strike, the first win, and got 111 on my lone game. Perfect!
Later, my dad and I had dinner at Five Guys. I had no idea that they've included spicy fries on the menu. How cooler can it get?
My mom :icondailyb55: made me some chocolate cupcakes. Delicious.
As for presents, I've decided to open them tomorrow when my sister :iconnatural20: comes into the picture. My family and I will be at Red Robin's in Massachusetts for lunch. It's got countless fries! Can you believe it?!? I'll also be at Barnes & Noble for a little present shopping (a little previous complication with the list).
As a side note, reasons I've had trouble catching up on dA messages would be because of helping out my sister moving out as well as playing my new video games.

There were two ladies who were the best of friends, Sandra and Natalie. Sandra was a pretty blond with a delicate, flawless face while Natalie had beautiful blue hair and eyes that sparkled like the ocean. They always looked after each other and because they were poor, Natalie lived with Sandra.
One day, Natalie was given a hand mirror from a traveler. When she showed it to Sandra, the two were already looking at the attractive mirror fixing their hair, stroking their face with their fingertips; admiring themselves.
When Sandra noticed in the mirror how more beautiful Natalie's eyes looked than hers, she felt jealous and poked one of Natalie's eyes. Natalie cried in pain. After recovering from the soreness, she saw Sandra with the mirror and her face's smooth reflection. She too felt jealous so she slapped Sandra's cheek and it turned flaming red. This made Sandra angry

Time of the museThe new year has brought some surprises, my youngest son has reverted to Islam, my eldest is joining the Navy and I have found that the more time I spend idle the more I drift into the past, thoughts of lost lovers, lost opportunities, and just being lost start to play within me.Time of the muse2 years ago in Personal More Like This
I have started re- purposing furniture which is quite a stretch for me as wood and I have never bonded, the experience has been one of learning with my simple skill-set picked up way back in secondary school is just enough to get me into the crap, if nothing else I will have some fancy firewood to sell.
I am trying to find my muse within my desire to write, I am only poking a stick at it currently and it shows, I try and paint pictures with words, not flowery crap with bees and kittens and other suck 'disneyish' crap, but one of loss, ugliness, lust, and sweat not everyones cup of tea but what can you do.
If you are a drifter of peoples pages as I and you stumble on to my writings please take the time to have
