About This Design
This is my original design for the Musically Inspired T-Shirt Design Challenge. I decided to go with something simple here that we could all relate to: chillin or relaxing while listing to our favorite tunes.
I made the sleeves of the hoodie to look like Piano keys and I even added the dA logo on the character's T-shirt right where the hoodie is partially unzipped.
Keeping in line with the five color limit, I used the colors green, light brown, white, grey and black and tried to keep them consistent throughout the design. If you look closely at the design [close-up], you can see how I used grey over some white areas to create a shadow effect without the use of gradients. This is especially noticeable along the arms of the hoodie and over the sneakers.
Speaking of the sneakers, I actually fashioned them after a computer mouse since that is what I used to create this design.
Tools
I used Inkscape (vector graphics), my ten year old computer and my trusty computer mouse to create this design. No tablet here.
A Chillin Beat
This awesome song from the video game "Ragnarok Online" was the inspiration for my design:
