A pair of men entered the lobby and showed their Ids to the innkeeper, who upon seeing both looked scared.
"Is there a Kyo Demer in one of your rooms?" One of them asked but it sounded more like a statement.
"Let-let me check." The innkeeper said nervously looking at a book on the counter.
"It appears so, room two."
Kyo shoot up alertly from sleep, something was wrong otherwise his mind would let him sleep. He sat there blinking away sleep and adjusting to the dim room and the unusual calm. He wasn't sure what caused him to return to conscience during the night. Kyo laid back down, trying to remember his last set of nightmares.
However what woke him became clear with an unusual beep coming from his door. The first was followed by another and someone quietly swearing. Another voice said to shut up.
"He couldn't have heard that."

Chapter 1 Leave
Kyo looked up at the ceiling in his bedroom, idlely drawing circles on the ceiling, a large middle one, two slightly smaller ones, overlapping the middle and then three smaller circles, one on the middle, one on either side. He then idlely drew elvic runes for dark, soul, and light, leaving the smallest circles blank.
His blue eyes reflected back the orange street lights from outside. The harsh orange light also made his mop of sapphire and electric blue hair, black. Kyo tossed and rolled over, letting the mental image of the circles project themselves onto a new surface, perhaps one not marred by street light. One of his elongated ears folded back so that he could rest comfortably on his side. Unlike his uncle, Kyo was part elf. A 'breed' as some others called him, apparently not accepting he was stuck in both worlds, not caring that he wanted to be in neither, not afte
Chronic Consent in ChroniclesWhat is "too old" or "too young" in a world where some species have not yet been deemed mature when other species at the same age have lost all flower of youth? Or have died, of age and natural cause? At what point is the immortal deemed a robber of 'children' by other immortals, and how is it measured by the Laws in the case of statutory rape or pedophilia? Is it the body's ripeness or the mind's that makes one a legal adult?Chronic Consent in Chronicles1 year ago in Short Stories More Like This
It's never an easy topic, and one that certainly isn't a trivial or light hearted matter. But that is the subject of our discussion today.
Firstly, it should definitely be noted that each individual species has its own laws on *in-species ralations* and how time, maturity, and law regarding each are measured for their own people. This provides them a set of moral standards for same-Race couples that need not apply to Races of more longevity or brevity. Who and what is an adult according to its own people is a matter of the people in question to judge by ri

Terra Notes- SpacefaringIn the later days of the independence of Terra, or at least the Terra of Perreous Alpha in the Nuukleia Affinita, a number of divergences split it even further along the Multiversal track from what an outside perspective might deem the 'norm' for a world's history or culture. In many respects it remained, compared to many worlds, primitive or backwater to a great degree; at best, the technological standard was often pre-Industrial and though such items as radios and firearms had eventually come about, they were often still made by hand and maintained as such. Factories and automobiles never wholly caught on- the former remained a tiny, undeveloped fascet of society controlled wholly on the Prize Archipelago by the World Government, and the latter never evolved beyond a locomotive-car resemblance complete with energy requirements.Terra Notes- Spacefaring9 months ago in Short Stories More Like This

Test 2- our normal way. Same story. The tavern is dark, shaded with heavy burlap curtains and thick tabacco smoke. The proprieter is a crippled dwarf by the name of Golgrahm. There are several barmaids, most of whom are human, all of whom are busy. One girl in particular, a lass of some twenty and two, seems particularly laden. It is she on whom we shall focus. She is short for her species and her frame hints at possible elvish blood a few generations back in her family. Her eyes are the colour of the sea after a storm, neither blue nor green nor grey, yet all of them in turn and at once. Her hair is the color of the shadows in a deep cave, so black it might be blue. She has known no life but the tavern, or rather, she does not remember. She came to the tavern when she was fourteen with no memory of who she was. Golgrahm calls her Lin, and that's what she answers to. Golgrahm is vaugley affectionate, in a rough dwarfish way, and he is the only father-figure Lin can remember.Test 2- our normal way. They are failsafes, not realities.
Do not misunderstand- the armies are actual, as 'real' as can be for fantasy. But they are neither deployed nor employed beyond basic guardian duties for the greater part. Even the experimental individuals seldom see action outside a swift response.
Throughout this particular Terra, only some few tens of thousands die yearly from armed conflict of any kind, from the raids and depravations of monsters to those of men. From direct warfare, less than nine thousand most years. The losses sound awful, terrible and tragic, until compared with the grand scale-

"Well, alright. Ya promise?"
"Of course! I would never do anything to hurt you." Applejack nodded, and walked up to the plate. She looked at the apples, the red, juicy, delicious-looking apples,
RegicideThe goddess of the sun sat idly munching her royal dinner at the head of an unnecessarily long dining table. Laid out before her were silver plates decorated with foodstuffs hailing from the furthest and most exotic corners of Equestria. Celestia liked the royal dining hall, although it was a little opulent for her tastes. Vast as it was, with baroque paintings and carvings decorating the walls as well as the supporting pillars which stood on either side of the long, rectangular table. A set of golden armored pegasi flanked each of the doorways and they blended in humorously with the decorations. So unmoving, one might easily mistake them for statues.Regicide2 years ago in Short Stories More Like This

Defending Equestria Girls, response to Roxas617.Ok, so another Deviantart user and brony by the name of “roxas617” has written a very scathing review of the Equestria Girls film. After reading his review, I have decided that I should respond to the points which Mr. roxas brings up. This commentary on his note is done with his consent, and knowledge that this is not in anyway, directed against him personally, or any other members of the fandom who may have had a grievance against the movie. This note is NOT being written for the purposes of flaming, trolling, demeaning, insulting, putting-down, bullying, mocking, or in anyway shape or form attacking the person of roxas617, this is merely intended to stimulate civil intellectual debate through constructive commentary and criticism. The Pony POV Series is a truly epic and immense work of fanfiction, and while I have worked on it personally, I'm not a main writer, nor does my influence on it go further than 'suggest edits to the author, see if it goes anywhere', and occasionally writing a chapter of scene. But I thought perhaps it'd be a good idea to give my personal thoughts on the work as a whole.
Please note, this is just opinion, I don't want anyone taking this as gospel just because I'm on the crew. Nor do I want anyone to take offense if I don't agree with your opinion of the fic. I personally love it, which is why I work on it. This is simply my opinion, nothing more. I'm generally going to ignore the parts of the story that I worked on and focus on general things. I know I have some blame for the flaws in the story, but this is a retrospective for a reason.

#64) I'm at college and my room-mate doesn't know that I like MLP. I'm embarrassed to mention it to him, but it's a problem because I can't draw or watch ponies with him in the room...which is all the time. What advice do you have for me?
Answer: I think you should be at an age now where you should be accepted for your inoffensive interests. He probably has his own interests that could be seen as embarrassing. You're living together for the foreseeable future, and so it's not healthy to keep something to yourself that you want to be a part of. It won't be much fun spending an entire year, or perhaps longer, hiding your interest and avoiding drawing and so on.
Don't make an effort to 'tell' him: that's making it more important than it needs to be. Just do what you usually do draw ponies and watch the episodes on Youtube or whatever. If he asks what you're watching, again, don't go overboard. Announcing that you're a 'brony' is unnecessary. Just say that it's a show

Seven ships where suppose to leave Earth behind. Five made it out.
The church seized control a few years ago. Not many people fully understood what that meant. The government folded under, allowing for a total theocracy. Under the new reign, free thought was feared and subsequently stamped out by the new government. Anything that did not glorify the new government, the new way of life, or god, was labeled heresy and therefore was stamped out as well. Much like the dark ages that plagued the planet centuries before, modern civilization crumbled again into the dark ages.
The five ships that broke the rules, escaping, and carrying the seeds for a new civilization were the: Alexandria, Exile, Hope Eyrie, Requiem, and Riven.
