Frozen Review (SPOILER ALERT) What is the first song we think of when we think of "Frozen?"Frozen Review (SPOILER ALERT)1 year ago in Personal More Like This
YEAH, that's what I thought! They even say "cold as ice" in the movie!
Its time to Review Frozen. No not that 2010 movie frozen that scared the living Sh(beep) out of me and made me never want to go skiing down a mountain! (Good movie by the way)
I'm talking about this one:
THERE WE GO!!!
Princess Anna sets off to find her sister Queen Elsa, after she had unintentionally frozen her entire kingdom in the new Disney movie "Frozen." Good-day everyone I'm D-rock625, our story starts off with a familiar story, some would think it original but it's not, it would be that is if you don't count other movies that involve siblings, or sibling problems: Mozart's Sister, Sister, Warrior, The Godfather, that Tinkerbell Secret of the Wings and pretty much Every movie ever made.
Okay okay maybe I'm getting a little too much into original stuff, but unoriginality doesn't make this movie a bad movie, as long as the
If House of Mouse came backDo you guys remember the show that used to be on Disney channel called "Disney's House of Mouse"? You know, the one where Mickey runs a dinner theater club and characters from various Disney Movies go there as customers. Well, if it came back with new episodes, this is what I think would happen:If House of Mouse came back3 months ago in Personal More Like This
I'm hoping that characters from the later Disney Movies and movies that were not exactly considerable in the 1990s will appear in the show, such as characters from "Lilo and Stitch", "The Nightmare Before Christmas", the Pixar movies, and "Frozen". For the CGI and stop-motion movies, the characters can just be drawn two-dimensionally. As for the food that is served at the club, I'm thinking there would be new portmanteaus of it with the new disney movies like "Radiator Springrolls", "Let It Goat's Milk", "Finding Nemochas", and "Lilo and Stickybuns".
So for what I think, I think all of this would be cool! If it does come true, I would totally want to see Mickey interact with Randall (from "Mons

Featured Artist - Tim Burton! He's most known at Disney for his work on The Nightmare Before Christmas and the recent Alice in Wonderland movie. But he also did concept work for The Black Cauldron! :3Featured Artist - Tim Burton!2 years ago in Personal More Like This
Since today's his birthday, we thought this would make a great first "Featured Artist"!
Here are some of his sketches from various movies:
The Black Cauldron:
From Andreas Deja, animator of such famous Disney characters as Scar, Jafar, Mama Odie, and Hercules:
"I am not entirely sure who drew this caricature of Tim, but it most likely is a Glen Keane sketch.
After I passed the training program at Disney in 1980 I was asked to help out with character designs for the upcoming production of "The Black Cauldron."
"The Fox and the Hound" was still being finished by the animation crew, and there was a need to come up with visuals for the next feature. Producer Joe Hale told me."There is this other young guy who draws in his own unique style, maybe the two of you can come up w

Five Things You Didn't Know About the New Avatar1. Making The Legend of Korra requires hundreds of artists in three different countries. In addition to the artists at the Nickelodeon Animation Studios in Burbank, Calif., we collaborated with Studio Mir in South Korea. They handled designing characters and backgrounds as well as all the animation and compositing for the first season. We also worked with a studio in India called Technicolor. It handled the CG vehicle models — all the cars, airships, and other CG vehicles. But even though we use computers to help us make the show, all the animation of the characters and bending effects are still hand-drawn.Five Things You Didn't Know About the New Avatar3 years ago in Personal More Like This
2. The character of Korra's polar bear-dog, Naga, was actually created ten years ago. When we were developing the original series back in 2002, Bryan had done a sketch of a bipedal polar bear-dog creature. We never found a place for it in Avatar: The Last Airbender. But when we came up with Korra's character, we wanted her to have an animal mode of transport and revisited tha
Disney layoffs, 2D animation, and youA very nervous animation student (he didn't say, but I assume he is studying 2D animation) asked me about my opinions on the state of animation these days. What are the companies thinking with laying off all the employees, not doing 2D animation, canceling great TV series, etc.? Are the business people just evil? AND the even bigger question: Is John Lassiter a jerk (or worse) for letting all the 2D animators at Disney go yesterday?Disney layoffs, 2D animation, and you2 years ago in Personal More Like This
MY ANSWER: I have a slightly controversial (for an artist) perspective on businesses and business people. Over all, I like them. At times, I have even been grateful for them. (Steady paychecks should never be taken for granted. Wait till you don't have one one day, then you'll know!) Remember, we live in a world where businesses are expected to make money to stay alive. It's called capitalism. Others call it "business". That means, the animation world isn't any different from any other job/company

Happy 16th Anniversary to Disney's The Hunchback of Notre Dame! June 21st, 1996, Disney's 34th animated film was released to theaters. I posted the original theatrical trailer that showed us all just how amazing this movie would be. I love that it ranged from light-hearted and silly to dark and serious.

If this collab goes well, we'll do a Disney girls one, too.
Any good guy can only be in the collab once. In other words, if someone has already taken him, then you can't sign up for him.
When we're done, Zimeta will put together all the individual guys onto one big mural, much like our previous villains collaboration:
Traditional or digital mediums are fine.
Any pose is fine as long as it's not vulgar. Anything from jumping to sitting is just perfect.
Do not do your own version of a character. You MUST use the Disney design. You're allowed to draw them in your own style, though. In fact, we encourage you to use your own style over doing a carbon copy of a character.
We are not doing different versions of the same character. Fo

With the unfortunate recent passing of famous movie critic, Roger Ebert, I felt it would be appropriate to post the review they both did back in the day on Disney's The Hunchback of Notre Dame.
Both Gene Siskel, who also is sadly no longer with us and Roger Ebert gave two thumbs up to Disney's 34th animated classic movie. They both thoroughly enjoyed it.
They now are reunited with each other once more in that big movie theater in the sky. God bless to the both of them and thank you for all the interesting reviews over the years.
Rest in Peace:

There was a Read-Along book on Disney's The Hunchback of Notre Dame that came out around the time of the movie. David Ogden Stiers (the Archdeacon's voice) was the narrator. All the original cast from the 1996 movie were included in this. I discovered this video on tumblr yesterday where the entire book was read.
To those who don't have tumblr, I decided to share it here. I discovered I have two of the Read-Along books in my collection, one even has both the English and Spanish version, but I had found them at antique stores, no tape included with this so it was a pleasant surprise to find this and watch the video. As you will notice it's a little watered down then the movie was. No real mention as to why Frollo is p

Featured Artist - Bobby DriscollBest known to Disney fans as the voice of Peter Pan!Featured Artist - Bobby Driscoll2 years ago in Personal More Like This
Bobby Driscoll lived a very short, rollercoaster life.
He was discovered as a natural actor in a barbershop at the very young age of five-and-a-half! And, he was the first actor to sign a long term contract with the Walt Disney animation department.
At the age of 12, he was given an Oscar for outstanding juvenile actor for his performances in So Dear to my Heart (A Disney Movie) and The Window (RKO Picture).
At about the age of 16, Bobby Driscoll played his most famous roll - Peter Pan. He acted out all the parts himself before they were animated onto film. He was also the first boy ever to play Peter Pan (traditionally, Peter Pan is played by a girl.)
Here are some production pictures for y'all!
Unfortunately, life doesn't always have a fairytale ending for us like in the magical world of Disney. ;_;
Bobby Driscoll was introduced to drugs at the age of seventeen, had several run-ins with the law, and was sentenc

“For the 2013-14 season, the network will also roll out new episodes of returning hit animated series, including season two of The Legend of Korra, SpongeBob SquarePants, The Fairly OddParents, Winx Club, T.U.F.F. Puppy, Kung Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness and Robot and Monster.”

Scanning Tutorial for Clean Pencil drawingsWhen I do a finished pencil drawing, I typically keep the drawing as clean as possible while drawing it. This saves in clean up time during the scanning process. I do that by starting my under-drawing with a very light (hard) pencil lead. 4H Mechanical Lead Holder. After I have established the structure, perspective and loose details of the drawing I go over the drawing tightening every thing up with a darker (softer) lead. In the past I've used 2H, but ended up drawing harder to get a nice dark line and was pressing grooves into the page. This just makes it hard to ink. Anything darker than 2H will be likely to start smearing as you rub your hand over the drawing, resulting in a general gray "haze" over the whole drawing. TO AVOID SMEARING AS I DRAW, I place a piece of typing paper under my hand to cover portions of the underdrawing while working on it. Sometimes for pages I will even mask off, or tape pages together, leaving a window of just the panel Im working on open to dr

From Disney Blogs:
"We are deeply saddened by the loss of Diane Disney Miller and our thoughts are with her family during his difficult time. As the beloved daughter of Walt Disney and one of his inspirations for creating Disneyland, she holds a special place in the history of The Walt Disney Company and in the hearts of fans everywhere. She will be remembered for her grace and generosity and tireless work to preserve her father’s legacy, and she will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Diane was a fierce guardian of her father’s legacy who never hesitated to set the record straight, opening The Walt Disney Family Museum in San Francisco to bring her father’s fascinating story to life. In our many conversations over the years, Diane’s unique and special perspective about her father only deepened my considerable appreciation for him. Diane was incredibly ge
