He watched you from the shadow of a large oak. Large green eyes studying your every movement. He could never leave the forest that was his curse. No matter how much he wanted to take a few steps beyond to take hold of what he wanted he couldn't.
So for now he would wait for you.
"Mom, please let me go into the forest. I promise I'll be careful."
"No __________, it's far too dangerous," your mother fussed.
"I'm never allowed in the forest," you said, "at least tell me why."

All that seemed to go through one ear and out the other. Pouting you turned your eyesight to the line of trees just a half mile away.
Smirking to yourself you stole your way out of the house.

"____________, love, you must eat," Arthur said placing a plate full of strange food in front of you. You were on the only bed in the small house.
You shook your head slowly. Right now you were far too weak to argue verbally. Even though you resigned yourself to this fate you still clung to the hope that he might let you go. However the chances of that were slim to none.
"____________, ______________, please," the fairy man held your hand in both of his, "eat something. Talk to me, I don't care if you do nothing but insult me."
Your eyelids felt heavy as you began to drift off.
Strong hands shook you back into consciousness, "___________, love don't go to sleep. I'm afraid you won't wake up again."
You opened your mouth to speak, but then closed it.
Arthur leaned forward to kiss you, you let him. But you didn't respond, you didn't move. His gentle kisses then turned hungry and angry. "Kiss me back dammit," he breathed.
You did nothing; it was as if you didn't even know he was there.

You were digging through some old blankets he had out when something fell out of one and onto the driveway. You set down your things and picked it up.
It was a little doll and it was in terrible condition. The pale fabric for the skin was dulled and dirty and stained with God only knows what. The yellow yarn that made up its hair was frayed, dulled so much that it almost looked brown, and most of it was missing. The black button that made up its left eye was chipped and the button that was its right eye was hanging loosely, only connected by an old, thin black thread. The red thread that was its mouth was half missing, and what was left sat cr

It was supposed to be a normal November day. You were in your house, brooming the dust and grain powder off the floor of your kitchen, when you heard a commotion outside your front door. It was your father and the king of your kingdom, having an argument about the importance of your father's work.
"Please, my Lord, the village needs the flour. How else will we make bread?" Your father pleaded to the king. Your father was a miller who made his living by grinding wheat and grain into flour in order to sell it to the market. You often helped him and used the leftover flour to sell baked goods over the weekends. It was not a very rich lifestyle but made a decent living.
