Last to leaveThe park is dark tonight while I'm drinking,
the shadows of friends have long retreated.
Bright orange city lights tinge my thinking
Lying in the grass alone, defeated.
My bottle now empty, discarded glass,
no longer a den for spirits and mirth
sequesters the moon on the dying grass;
an icy blue light for unworthy earth.
The vodka I drank still teases my tongue
while cold night air penetrates my clothing.
Salty bitter fire between each lung
Keeps me warm from the cold of self loathing.
The park is spinning as I try to leave,
but I fall back down to my knees and heave.
Trust: A NooseTrust, the rope that bound my heart to yoursTrust: A Noose5 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
Sweet and innocent like children holding hands
Though the rain falls and violently pours
Bound we hold on with future plans
Through much and more the rope held tight
But slowly the rope began to fray
It chokes me gently when I'm alone at night
Choking me more as you slip away
No longer children you let go of my hand
The rope fraying further with your aid
Little by little from my hand like sand
Our trust torn and dangerously frayed
One day you will leave me and fall away
I had tricked my self, this rope a ruse
This rope you frayed and left me with
Now my death a tattered noose
Drink With MeOne drink finds me pondering lifeDrink With Me4 years ago in Traditional Fixed Forms More Like This
Two drinks make me think
Three drinks and I want some more
Deeper and deeper I sink
Four drinks and I'm in love again
Five drinks my hearts been torn
Six drinks the world begins to spin
And I feel old and worn
Seven drinks and I begin to die
Eight drinks and I'm alive once more
Nine drinks and I hate myself
As I lay purging on the floor
Ten drinks maybe i should give in
Eleven drinks I won't give up
Twelve drinks now I'm at the end
Of what was left in an empty cup
Kiss Me LoverOne moment two hearts meetKiss Me Lover6 years ago in Traditional Fixed Forms More Like This
Met through touching lips
More powerful than any kiss
A brush from finger tips
The soft hand of good intent
A caress from souls to hearts
A heart beat's sweet betrayal
Is where the affair starts
One more kiss goodnight
My lips beg one last time
Kiss me dear sweet lover
Love my darkest crime
laceWhat is it like to bind your limbs in lace?lace9 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
To control your very being?
My own little doll of ceramic beauty.
Your are more than my pretty face.
Lace is what holds you to me.
Wrapped around my fingers you dance upon my desk.
I control your every movement and yet me you don't resent.
You come when I call you because i move you my self.
I broke your spirit long ago and you love me for it.
Until I find another doll to brake you are mines forever.
Defiantless yet full of vigor inspired by my finger.
I move you to and fro and for now you will go.
The shattered ceramic of the others lie mangled at your feet.
Brake our binding bond of lace and rest forever in pieces.
Oh yes, like the mangled nothings at your feet.
Flutter ByesBlue lace flutters gently in the windFlutter Byes5 years ago in Traditional Fixed Forms More Like This
Tickling eyes in delight and splendor
Floating just as Icarus had sinned
Is the flutterer or watcher the true offender?
A fish in water watches and ponders
Bubbly eyes in surprise as the blue lace flies
Is the air above like deeper waters?
Or is such beauty death's lure in disguise?
The light dances on the lace's sheen
A black spider watches weary, famished
The blue free beauty floats by the machine
Its soul not yet ready to be relinquished
A lone toad sits on a toadstool throne
Its croaks a greeting of come my way
The old toad waits as if made of stone
But the blue lace leaves instead of stay
Fluttering down the blue lace finds a friend
As friends kiss such nectar she will stow
Only to meet such a bitter sweet end
For lady Venus should never let her go

A sudden shock wave of cold
Her lungs burning speak of her doom
But to fear she refuses to fold
Clawing in space for something to grab
Up towards the light in her eyes
Near death her hand makes a stab
Survival her ultimate prize
From the ice she pulls herself up
But she leaves her mortal sheath
Crumbling back into the deadliest cup
She forgot to remember to breathe

After what one evening made an eternity
A kiss of a tear spilled from the sun
Washes away the evening's enmity
Kisses laced with dew drops and honey
Are fed to my mad wanton lips
Dried and cracked from the evening cold
Each kiss is balm from tender finger tips
The ocean of night seperates us no more
The pure light of day a sure sign
Today we can kiss and embrace each other
One day is made an eternity of sunshine
Sugar and ShadowHere the voice it whispers sleepSugar and Shadow5 years ago in Traditional Fixed Forms More Like This
You close your eyes to fall away
As you do the shadows creep
They writhe and crawl as thick as clay
Lulled by sugar the sweetest of notes
A voice so sweet it caresses and dotes
And as you fall deeper under its spell
The shadow it creeps and starts to swell
The shadow like hand clutching your throat
You're falling hard and cannot save
But savor the taste of that voice's note
Deeper you must fall in and crave
When the light starts to shine on your happy grave
The shadows they melt releasing your breath
The voice it will hide in your head like a cave
Unwillingly spared a much sought after death
WaitingHow bitter sweet a lonely nightWaiting5 years ago in Traditional Fixed Forms More Like This
A lover waits for his love's return
What heart flutters at the sight
Or lack there of to crash and burn
To waste away for a single hope
That they may remember you
Oh what can one do to cope
Short of another to pursue
Alone I wait for you tonight
Wanton, waiting, for your word
Forgotten I wait for your delight
But sparse is anything from you heard
So now I lie me down to sleep
And hope tonight I may not die
If I am gone perhaps you'll weep
Or maybe I'm not worth a cry
Goodnight my love and pleasant dreams
You're in my prayers as I close my eyes
My pillow will smother all of my screams
And the drakness will hear all my sighs

Because she lied.
So I ripped out her heart
And tore it apart
But before she turned cold
I went to my art.
I dressed her to look nice
Now forever in ice
She is my porcelin doll
Mines with no price.
Forever will I keep her
and forever will she stay
My love is the reaper
And my lovers shall pay.

This sick sense of nothingCold I feel inside and outThis sick sense of nothing9 years ago in Traditional Fixed Forms More Like This
And yet it feels right.
Above all the wanting
A sick sense of nothing.
Ignore me my love
Away you may shove.
No more I conspire
I now call you liar.
Your love was a lie
Like a final goodbye.
The nothing was warm
and it was my norm.
But foresake it I had
In love was I glad.
But no more are we
As you've told me.
Through your silence
Above all the hurting
I'll return to my nothing.
My Thoughts wanderMy mind in madness slowly slipsMy Thoughts wander4 years ago in Traditional Fixed Forms More Like This
To the soft carress of Silence's lips
One stands to beg the question "why?"
Muttering like an insane butterfly
Wandering the dark of my babbling mind
Denying me peace the thoughts I find
The emotions they play across my face
Internally across my heart they race
Oh what butterflies of strangest hue
A blue laced one reminds me of you
But in your dance for another you pine
For a butterfly of the same design
So wandering into the madness I sink
The flames of my insanity wink
To weary to continue I close my eyes
And forget all about the butterflies
Silence my mind within my head
And let night believe I'm feigning dead

Never speak again
Of the lover that I used to be
The man I once had been
I've fallen down since parting ways
Never to take flight
In my heart this loss betrays
Falling from the light
Further down the truth and lies
Surreal in unreality
Buzzing like a million flies
Darkening my mentality
Deeper still I seem to fall
Never finding end
To despair a desperate lonely thrall
Hoping to one day mend
Mend my torn and aching heart
End my desperate fall from grace
As all things must play their part
Maybe I'll find my place
In the love and light that I once knew
Hold on to love and those who dear
Love the ever sky so blue
And forever always keep them near

In bliss that I'm the joke

What will heaven have to say?
Will anyone remember my name?

Someone that few will ever miss
Oh how nice that it must be
To fall into anonymity
I'll smile alone as down I fall
I'll smile and ignore your call
Trust is brokenCan I trust you now?Trust is broken9 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
After all the pain you seared through me,
You screamed, you yelled,
But I would always stay strong,
I never gave in,
Always forgot, your lies and deceit,
But it got too much,
No longer could I fight,
One blank piece of paper would share my pain,
"Are you ok" it would say,
As the tears leaked down,
Scream that's all I can do,
Scream the hatred scream the pain,
The paper would look in fright,
What was happening to me?
Was I going crazy?
Am I going to fall into myself?
Will I stop the pain?
Could I see the light at the end of each day?
Am I still strong?
Like before you broke me?
Do you still shadow my life?
Will you ever see the fright?
The paper felt the pain,
And it heard my cry's.
Love lettersLove letters8 years ago in Traditional Fixed Forms More Like This
When they found his body
They were just too late.
On his chest he'd written
How he had chose this fate.
He wrote so many letters
Each ending in "I love you".
He'd right down every time
That what he wrote was true.
He wrote all these letters
To his secret someone,
But never did she get them
Because she'd always run.
In his last love letter
He said he found an end.
He would run away from her
So she would comprehend.
When they asked her about it
She then broke down in tears.
She knew all along that he had loved her
But she gave in to fickle fears.
She had wrote him letters
By love she was driven.
But letters can do nothing
If they're never given.

Pours so smoothly like a dream made of silk
Give us a taste of that liquid forget
Drink up with me and forget all regret
Forgive me my love it's gone straight to my head
Let's dream forever together in bed

Alive and vibrant with what can't be seen
All glory to the ancient gods
Of wood and harrow earth and sod
Of which the wind through leaves doth play
Silently worshipping, the plants doth sway
All glory to the elder wood
Of which so few hath understood
Oh timeless green of ancients past
Of life slow lived but gone too fast
What soft green fingers toward the sky hath
Reached eternally for what can't be grasped
Forever live, forever grow
All glory to the seeds we sow
Until the day it all must end
As worshippers bow must all green bend

A bridge that spanned across the sea
To witt for us to meet half way
But you chose to sail away
I built a castle made of my bones
The last thing anyone ever owns
Built so we could touch the sky
But away you chose to jump and fly
I built a world from soul and mind
So both our worlds together'd bind
Forever lost in each other's gaze
But away you brought its end of days
Alone I build this little rhyme
Reflecting on our long gone time
Time that we both knowing lack
So away you go no looking back
