At Autumn's End
It was nearing the end of autumn and the world was a mixture of yellow, orange, brown, and a million different shades of green. It was a time of beauty and unimaginable change for the forces of nature, and yet Kelda was always sad to see the transition. She had always taken great pleasure in the warmer months, for life was plentiful and the world seemed brighter. But at the cusp between summer and winter, Kelda found her spirits low, knowing that all the lovely colors would soon be gone. Leaving only gray and white until spring of the next year. But for the first time since she could remember, Kelda didn't feel sorrowful about the change. This year something was different. . .
The beautiful woman was currently in her garden, watering her herbs and flowers with care, as she sang them a little jaunty that had been stuck in her head all day. Kelda knew that the song had come to her because of what she had p

Merry stared at the flowers he bought with an embarrassed blush spread across his cheeks. He couldn't believe he actually bought flowers of all things. It wasn't any of his friends' birthdays either, not that it was weird to give a gift among hobbits if there were no special occasions. Rather, it was for Pippin.
For some reason, he got the strangest idea to tell Pippin his true feelings, how much he truly loved his dear friend. It seemed like a good idea at the time. After all, they've been the best of pals all their lives. But now that he thought about it, he didn't want to lose that friendship if his feelings weren't returned.
It was too late now He was already in front of the other hobbit's door and he already knocked on the light wood. Maybe, just maybe, he could turn around and leave before - Pippin opened the door and smiled at the sight of Merry. Just before Pippin opened the door completely Merry quickly hid the bouquet behind his back, though it did no help to hi
SunshineHis eyes were blank as he waved his hand lazily through the visible radiance of sunshine that cascaded through the thick trees above, dappling the clearing that he didn't dare enter. The light refracted through his hand, bending oddly, as if it were passing through water rather than flesh. Not that his flesh could truly be called flesh anymore.Sunshine3 years ago in General Fiction More Like This
Macalaurë sighed and looked down at the shining green grass. His silver gaze could detect no sign of a foreign, solid object obstructing the path of the light that was being thrown to the ground, lighting up the world around him in a way that appeared striking compared to the gray of everything else around him. Even his pale shadow of a hand seemed brighter beneath the sunlight.
Even the sunshine can no longer see me. This fact should have bothered him, should have brought him some sort of despair, but the elf didn't even twitch. In fact, he was almost relieved

Also known as Bad Habits, Chapter 1
Legolas closed his eyes and tried to trick the ranger into thinking he was asleep.
Legolas, I know you are not asleep! the ranger said in an annoyed tone. Although the elf did not notice, his fingers were in his mouth, and he was chewing on them. Grow up and stop biting your nails! came the same annoyed voice. Aragorn really was getting irritated.
Legolas sat up. Hadnt his father said almost the same thing when he was young? He rolled his eyes. Oh brother, he muttered to himself in Silvan. He knew the only other person in the group who might be able to understand him was Aragorn, who was glaring at him.
Legolas, the ranger said more quietly, I cant believe you havent gotten over that! It has been many years, mellon-nin.
I know. And I still havent figured out why I do it, the blonde elf replie

Eowyn was trying her best to keep everyone's spirits up during their long journey to Helms Deep. She was having an amusing conversation with Gimli the dwarf, who she thought to have a very good sense of humor. The elf, Legolas, who was riding somewhere not far behind them, usually did also, but he had been very quiet for the past half hour or so. Eowyn had heard in tales and rumors of the strange sleeping habits of elves, and that they could actually rest and dream, while still in a semi-conscious state of mind. She suspected that he was doing this now, judging by the distant look in his eye and that he hadn't moved an inch, or said anything for quite some time. People just didn't sit that still for that long.
Suddenly, Eowyn thought of a question that her curiosity couldn't stop her from asking.
"Gimli, I myself have never seen, nor heard of a female dwarf." She stated.
"It's true you don't see many dwarf women, as they are often

"Stick close to me kid, some of these folks kill for a living. Others... well, they would do worst with a flower like you." Dante warned Holly as they reached the last plank on the docking bridge.
"Don't worry, every flower has its thorn. I happen to have a few the Doctor doesn't know about."
Dante turned to ask her what she meant when she pulled out a small knife from her boot.
"Where did you get that?"
"Picked it from the Quartermaster when he was roughing up the Doctor in the mess hall. See? I'm not just looks and techno gabble. I did have older brothers that I had to survive from."
"But can you use it? That's the true test.

River sighed angrily while she watched the Doctor. She was sitting on the seat beside the console watching while he flew his ship into the vortex. Ever since he read the afterward Amy wrote for the Melody Malone novel, he had been determined to go back to when she was seven and see her one more time. River had tried to talk him out of it, reasoning it would only bring him more heartache but he refused to listen and now he was barely speaking to her. Still, River was extremely stubborn so she tried to get through to him again.
"It won't change things," River said as he walked around the console to his monitor. "You can't change the future by doing this."
"I know that, River," the Doctor growled under his breath. "I'm not trying to change the future. I just want to see her one more time."
"Doctor, you're only making it worse," River said. "You need to let go and move on."
"I CAN'T MOVE ON!" the Doctor roared at her.
He swallowed hard when he saw t
