WINTER MOONJanuary moon, glowing bright,WINTER MOON5 months ago in Traditional Fixed Forms More Like This
it lights the way on misty nights;
a serenading by the loon
while holding sway the winter moon.
We hear the hooting of the owl,
and raccoons sneaking, on the prowl;
the trees, their bark sticks out like runes,
while holding sway the winter moon.
The fireflies, they dance about,
hyenas cackle as they shout;
a breath of night makes flowers swoon,
while holding sway the winter moon.
Always, the night must yield the way,
and sink upon the light of day;
the night will come again real soon,
while holding sway the winter moon...

JANUARY BLOOMSWhat will, in January, bloom?JANUARY BLOOMS4 months ago in Traditional Fixed Forms More Like This
What, in the winter, thrives and grows?
The loons cry out their tuneful woes,
and winds, they sweep around like brooms.
The skies, sometimes, are filled with gloom,
while stalks lie withered in their rows.
What will, in January, bloom?
What, in the winter, thrives and grows?
I lay my head upon your womb,
my love for you, it starts to flow;
it’s this that blooms, as we both know,
and maketh me your winter groom.
What will, in January, bloom?
What, in the winter, thrives and grows?

THE WOMAN BY THE SEAAs the day grows old with clouds of pinkTHE WOMAN BY THE SEA4 months ago in Traditional Fixed Forms More Like This
there’s a woman standing by the sea
with a fading sun that seems to wink.
She is looking down without a blink
to contemplate what may not be
as the day grows old with clouds of pink.
Her desires never seem to sink
as she’s whispering a silent plea
with a fading sun that seems to wink.
It is by the sea she likes to think
for it is here her soul roams free
as the day grows old with clouds of pink.
The sand beneath her feet like mink
her dreams are one big mystery
with a fading sun that seems to wink.
A cool ocean mist her skin will drink
this eloquent woman by the sea.
As the day grows o

A VISION OF YOUBe still the waters that flow this night,A VISION OF YOU2 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
and bring a calm to Zephyr's breath;
silence songs that Sirens sing,
and let not Hades seek for death.
I have drank the wine of Dionysus,
and braved Poseidon's Sea;
in seeking out my one true love,
that better part of me.
I have reached the steps of Venus's throne,
resplendent in auras of blue;
she pointed up into the night sky,
where I saw such a vision of you.
There within the Moon's glossy light
remains there a vision of you...

THE WHISPERING SILENCEIn the whispering silence I dream of you,THE WHISPERING SILENCE2 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
where night and day, they meet as one;
and if you choose to meet me there,
you only have to whisper...
This softening breeze, so sweet to smell,
and in this silence, I find comfort;
to find such peace within yourself,
you only have to whisper...
My heart belongs to you, and always will,
happiness has found me after all this time;
if you feel that you need me,
you only have to whisper...
Believe it or not, I can feel your pain,
and with every breath I feel there's doubt;
but here is truth within my love,
you only have to whisper...
Every day I love you more, I cannot help it,
each morn

NONETS FOR 2013Anger is my aphrodisiacNONETS FOR 20134 months ago in Traditional Fixed Forms More Like This
It’s soaked into every pore
Striking out like a viper
Anger is my venom
A sure protector
True defender
Anger’s breath
Fills my
Lungs
Heart
Blackened
Full of hate
No longer beats
Rotted by anger
It deceives, not defends
It is no one’s protector
Anger’s venom leaves no winner
Vomit it out and begin to heal
