We’ve all seen or heard of those horror stories at cons. A wig getting extremely knotty, a costume ripping, a prop snapping. I’m here to try and help with that. Here are some essential things you can take to any con to prevent tears.
~A few safety pins. At my first con, the buttonhole on my skirt ripped right open, and I was left flashing all the other Homestuck cosplayers in the vincinity (including the person who would later be my boyfriend, and two of my exes). Yay. Thank the dear lord I had a safety pin in my bag, just floating around. I hadn’t even intended to have it in there, thank god I did though.
~A comb. For both your wig, and your natural hair. If you’re on the show floor of a con, or outside, your wig could get pretty knotty. This is a written guide.
If you require photographs, I will provide them, unless I am unable to. (Like for how to wash the Kimono)

Working with Silk
I know that silk can be one of the biggest pains in the butt to work with.
If your Kimono is wrinkled and made out of silk, this should help you.
A. Ironing - Your iron should have a steam setting, if not, you'll just need to be even more patient.
-1. Set aside at least 30 minutes of your time for this, it requires a lot of patience.
-2. Make sure your iron is at the Silk/Rayon setting or equivalent, and make sure your steam is working. DO NOT USE A SP
