Welcome to my Custom Box Tutorial 2.0
I see that problem very often - many premium members want to have a colorful side with custom boxes e.t.c . And they don't know how to do it.
Lots of deviants ask me how to do it and I decided to make a little tutorial.
There is already one tutorial but it isn't actual and most of the codes doesn't work.

Your profile page is the first thing people will see when they click on your name, so it's very important to leave a good impression! This article will provide some useful tips and tricks for both premium and non-premium members who want to convert their profile into their own, unique page. First off, some Do's and Don'ts of profile decoration:
Use dA's profile widgets-- there are lots of great options to chose from
Show off some art (that's what people are here for!)
Express your personality through colors, stamps, gifs, etc.
Add so many images that your profile takes forever to load
Use garish or headache-inducing colors
Make text difficult to read with dark backgrounds
While many widgets are restricted or locked for non-premium members, there are still a variety of great widgets that you can add to your profile, even without a membership.

What is a Transition?
This time, I'll explain with an example. Let's take this awesome emote by jahw.
When I see that emote, I'm imagining it saying "CHAAAARGE!" and running forward! So I want to make the emote do that, but instead of opening it up in Photoshop to animate (which I'm not allowed to do anyway since it's not my work), I'm just going to add a simple code that will do the animation for me! Hover over the emote below to see this magic in action!

Hey there Devious CSSkinners!
First off, hover over the Title and Stamp to see some snazzy effects. That's the kind of stuff that CSS3 allows users to play around with. As I had been an Alpha Tester on devBUG, we had a few CSS3 privileges to test in Journal Skins in which several deviants had asked me "How did you do that?" and "Please share the code so we can learn" so I've been meaning to give a few lessons on CSS3 since forever and projecteducate has given me the opportunity to do so
These are the Topics that will be covered this week:
May 27th - Introduction
May 28th - Color Gradients
May 30th - Pseudo-elements & Pseudo-Classes
May 31st - Transition Animations
June 2nd - Conclusion

What's the difference between Pseudo-Elements and Pseudo-Classes?
Pseudo-Elements are used to address sub-parts of elements. They should come after any class or ID names found in the selector ex: p::first-letter where p is the element and ::first-letter is the sub-element. Pseudo-elements are usually static and can be used for common typographic effects such as caps and fonts. They can also address generated content that is not in the sour

I need to rant.. (Feel free to ignore)Something's been bugging me lately and I need to put my thoughts to words. Actually a lot of things bug me lately, but this one became too much of annoyance not to voice. 'You can only adopt if you draw it' Or anything along the lines of that, it bugs me... Like Some people adopt things because they can't do the art themselves. Some people don't like their art very much so they commission people to draw it for them, or adopt things so they don't have to. Just because a person doesn't draw it themselves doesn't mean the adopt goes to waste. Sure, I've know some people to adopt something and then never use it, but that doesn't mean everyone is going to do it.I need to rant.. (Feel free to ignore)9 months ago in Personal More Like This
Plus, to hound them if they don't draw it in a timely fashion that suits your fancy. Um, people have things to do you know. Life outside the internet, jobs, family, other friends. Some even have art that might take priority over drawing an adopt. Don't get on their case if they don't get it done on your warped sense of time limits.

Basic CSS Style GuideIntroductionBasic CSS Style Guide7 months ago in Art Features More Like This
CSS is a style language used to define the style and formatting of web pages. It is used in conjunction with HTML.
If we think of HTML as the building blocks of the web then, essentially, CSS is the painter and decorator. Very simply, HTML defines the structure of the page and CSS defines the style.
What I'll be helping you with here is getting to grips with the basics of CSS. I'll be explaining how use CSS as well as providing a number of examples that you can use to style your own web pages and journals. All you need to do is copy/paste the code and replace the sample text with your own content. Along with the quick reference I've also written a brief glossary of terms and provided a list of useful links in case you wish to do some further reading.
A point of note is that while the information and examples I've given here apply to CSS use anywhere on the web, this guide itself is geared towards the use of CSS on deviantART. As such, and given that this h

Lucky for you guys, this will be my last article for this week's CSS3 101 series! No more spam of unintelligible code from me...
... for now
For those that were keeping up with the series, thanks so much for reading and providing feedback! I know I might have left out some info here and there, but you have to understand CSS3 is quite an extensive topic to break down and explain at beginner level, so really thanks to those that also reminded me about the few things I might've missed out. It's even more difficult to explain since I don't have CSS3 privs available to show live examples of cooler animations, but hope you were all able to understand and follow along anyway
Unfortunately, had to cut the series short due to time constraint I initially had more topics in mind for this series, namely Transform, Animation, Attribute selectors and more Pseudo-classes, but had some personal iss
How to Use Journal Skins What are journal skins? How to Use Journal Skins2 years ago in Deviant Events More Like This
Journal skins are premade, installable layouts that allow you to customize the look and feel of your journal.
Here are a few examples:
Who can use journal skins?
Only premium members on deviantART can use journal skins.
If you're unsure about whether or not you're a premium member, just go to your profile page and look at the top. If it says "Need Premium Membership", you're not a premium member.
How do I use journal skins?
Find a skin that you like. You can browse for one here, the Installable Journal Skins category.
Pick a skin that you like.
Before you install the skin, scroll down and read the comments. Many journal skins will require you to copy
