That’s what Jordan was.
Haunted by a woman with a dragon. He saw flashes of her and the black dragon every dang time he closed his eyes. She and her dragon pervaded his thoughts like a plague throughout the land; there was no escape from the images that he saw.
But, unlike a plague, it wasn’t entirely unwelcome.
My shadow is my only constant companion,
Though I’ve had others~
The flashes were the complete opposite of illness, actually. Simply the image of the woman and her dragon was all it took to eat away all his stress, anger and rage. It left his mind in a state of lucidity he couldn’t achieve otherwise.
Which was a bit strange, considering he’d never actually met her and had no idea who she was.
So, it was a good plague. Ish.
But even then, few could do much fo

"Well, well, well... it seems that things are about to change around here."
There are, of course, many changes in a pony's life. Sometimes it's a day-to-day difference like that of the weather, and sometimes it's a big change which leaves a lasting impact on a pony's life.
There are many events like these which have importance - weddings, births, holidays, causes of celebration and good tidings. And along with the importance of these events comes others bringing it up as their topic of current discussion.
The speaker was talking about a major event such as this - a wedding. And not just a wedding of two ordinary ponies, but a grand union of Equestrian royalty.
With royalty, a momentous occasion is never shared with simply a few close friends and family. The celebrity status of the ponies in question guarantees that the entire surrounding area will be alerted about the event sooner or later. Especially the celebration that was fast

The cutie mark crusaders were still sitting on the couch, watching the TV like lazy couch potatoes. Apple Bloom tilted her head to the side and said, "Who knew they had such lovely underground underwater cities on the moon."
"It's the Lunar Republic, pretty cool actually," Scootaloo mentioned as she raised her brow at the show they were watching. "Though, I gotta question their tastes in gameshows."
"We'll be back to extreme underwater basket weaving after these commercials!" The girls groaned when the TV announced this and continued to watch. "There's a new Mare E. Kate and Ash Lee movie coming out, 'Mare E. Kate and Ash Lee go Shopping'!"
Sweetie Belle jumped on all four in shock and shouted, "Olsen Twins?!" Her eyes glowed red as she cried, "KILL!" and leapt at the TV. Her horn slammed into the screen, cracking into it and making it spark a few times before going dead. She hanged there limply, horn stuck, and after a brief moment said, "We are now rid

Medieval MisconceptionsHeavy, cumbersome swordsMedieval Misconceptions8 years ago in Academic Essays More Like This
- The issue of weight seems to be one of the most commonly mistaken aspects of medieval combat. Smiths all made swords slightly differently and each fighter had his own preferences. It is impossible to generalize when it comes to the technology of an entire continent from c/ 500-1500 AD, and both very heavy and very light swords existed. In terms of what was typical, though,, here’s a rough guide to averaged:
Single-handed sword (aka sword) - 2.5 pounds
Hand-and-a-half (aka bastard sword) 2.5-3 lbs
Two-hander (aka longsword) - 3 to 3.5 pounds.
The absolute largest swords still rarely hit the 5-pound mark. These were designed to serve very specific tactical functions on the battlefield and were not intended for general-use purposes. Experience showed smiths and warriors that this was the ideal weight range for their weapon. It’s essentially natural selection at work: people whose swords were too light or too heavy went off to battle and
The Clockwork cities - intro Not many people know of the Clockwork Cities, but the truth is, they've always been there. For every time and place, there was a clockwork counterpart, and behind every ticking clock, was a door that leads there. All it took was to find a big enough clock and search for the passage. Easier said than done, of course. The Clockwork cities - intro5 years ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This
Finding a big clock was one thing. A tourist, for example, would have a hard time trying to convince those seemingly nice people in white coats to let him inside the Big Ben so he can visit another world, and that he hadn't bashed his head against the wall after missing yet another tour bus.
However, those who were lucky (or more likely unlucky) enough to end up in a Clockwork city would tell you that it was the worst possible name you could give to it, as Time made absolutely no sense there. The whole city operated like a broken clock, which is to say, it hardly operated at all.

Mia stared intently at her target, her front legs perched on top of Link’s thigh. Then, hesitantly, she reached for it, only to quickly draw her paw back before touching it. She repeated this process a few more times, as if trying to build her courage; then, finally, she touched the end of Link’s scarf, catching her claws in the fibers as she did so.
Meanwhile, Link, who had been watching the scene unfold from his seat on the couch, couldn’t help but laugh as the little grey cat played with the end of his scarf, scratching at it and batting it to and fro. “Oh, I see how it is,” he said, giving Mia a tender pat on the head, “you just like my scarf, don’t you?”
“As opposed to what?” asked Zelda, poking her head out from the kitchen, a sheet of freshly baked sugar cookies in her mitted hands and a small grin on her face at the sight of Link and Mia.

Nire opened her eyes, squinting as the sun spots splashed across her face. The yellow light filtered through the leaves of the large sycamore tree that stood in her front yard, just outside her bedroom window. It was a quiet, peaceful morning, and Nire took her time getting out of bed. Glancing at her night stand the time read 10:30. Not too late, she supposed. Her mother had probably already made breakfast, but Jane didn’t make a habit of waking Nire on the days she slept in.
Sleeping, after all, was not Nire’s strong suit. In fact she was hard pressed to do so most nights, and her nightly routine of preparing for bed was one of exasperating lengths. Last night had been a new moon, which was always a small source of discomfort. Even though she had a nightlight she preferred the blue glow of moonlight washing her room, to the tiny confined glimmer stuck to her wall. It was a bit odd
