death vigil out in julydeath vigil out in july9 months ago in Personal More Like This
so, this july i am starting death vigil, published by image/top cow. it will be a monthly series limited to three 8-issue arcs, so there is a definitive ending. with this i have learned some of the things about publishing independent comics, and i am planning a video with some tips after i summarize my experiences. hopefully it will prove helpful for others to get their stuff published
but apparently rule 1 is promote preorders. preorders are crucial for independent books as they define the print runs, and are crucial to the sucess of the book.. so.. as my far more experienced friends told me to do....
death vigil is preorderable ...pretty much in any place or webstore that carries US comics.
you can find an extensive preview to issue 1 and much more here

Is possible to travel?...and perhaps I thought it wasn't possible. Is possible to travel?3 years ago in Personal More Like This
On this journal I'd like to clarify a few things about travels and the truth with it.
So, let's start from very basic questions or comments from people which I get very often on dA: you are so lucky to be able to afford traveling!, I so wish I were as lucky as you being able to travel or How you can afford? You must have decent finances and the time!
Didn't you happen to think like that? If you did, so that is just a stereotype.
On almost every question or their comment where I explain what it is really and how it's working - it is a big opposite side of mirror what they think. After hearing they get usually shocked, but more in positive way.
Here we go.
Firstly, there is a big difference being a traveler and a tourist.
Secondy, there is a huge difference to travel via third party (travel agencies, school trips, going for trips with a friend, family, organizations, etc.) and lonely, self organized travels. And where you

The Used Furniture Review are now accepting submissions, and are also in the process of looking for some new columnists. Now bear with me here, I know it sounds like I'm sending you to write for a niche magazine about futons, but they're an online only literature magazine that features a plethora of writing, including Kate Eisenberg's Famous Battle Cries column.
The webzine can be found here, with a handy top bar for navigation so you can see what kind of thing they have available to you.
There is no deadline for submission or columnist applications, all they're looking for is, well, everything. From the columnist side of things, they're looking for:

Now, I will defend the intelligence of Americans until the day I die. Much of my favourite writing, movies, games, comics and music comes from over there. They're not an inately stupid people. Every nation has its morons. It's just American morons are the f**king benchmark.

WIKI FOR THE PEOPLEZSo far I has encountered two types of peoples, those whom the RA comic confuses and those who understand all and see all the Easter eggs and plots.WIKI FOR THE PEOPLEZ3 years ago in Personal More Like This
So lets see how many confused vs knowledgeable people be there!
1. Are you highly confused by the plot in romantically apocalyptic http://romanticallyapocalyptic.wikia.com/wiki/Romantically_Apocalyptic_Wiki?
Perhaps you think there is no plot? When did you become most confused?
2. Can you explain all the things in the comic? Can you summarize the plot in RA for those who are confused?

Is anything working right now? :IThere seems to be a glitch that won't let a majority of my watchers get notified of my updates. I noticed this after posting and realizing there is significantly reduced traffic. I logged into my other account :iconknites: and sure enough, the newest update did not appear in the other account's inbox. Some people have reported receiving the update, while many others reported not receiving it. I decided to make sure and made a poll asking people if they received the lasted drawing in their inbox, and guess what? There's another glitch affecting the polls so most people aren't getting notified of the poll either... =_= Or at least the newest poll is not showing up in my other account either. I wonder if people will even see this journal? Is anything working right now? :I2 years ago in Personal More Like This
I already reported the bug, but if people can see this journal, I'm curious if anyone is experiencing similar problems? I remember years back there was a bug that only affected people with a certain amount of watchers which means some ar
Always Low Prices......Always......Always...AlwaysI hate Wal-Mart. I really do. So I wait in line for 15 minutes because the lady is not scanning the bar code right, whatever. So She tells the old man that the total was like $75. And then the old guy tells her that he has to go to his truck to grab his card. All he had in his wallet was a 10 dollar bill. I mean really...really...REALLY. Does he think that the 50 boxes of prunes and bran flavored tapioca was going to cost him 10 bucks! So he goes to his truck at an astonishing .0001 miles per hour. He had a walker for gods sake. Then the lady behind the counter looks at me and gives me a shrug. That shrug translated to "I know you have been standing there, but you are going to have to wait 30 more minutes.....because I am a moron."Always Low Prices......Always......Always...Always2 years ago in Personal More Like This
Ok, I added that last part, BUT STILL! Please keep in mind that I had 2 items and the express lanes were unavailable. So I asked the lady kindly, "Can you scan my stuff? I think that he will take too long." And she said "DUH DUH LA FURGSHHHHH DUH I'M A REEEE

My personal online psychiatrist is making me narrate this nonsense down on the chip embedded in my tooth in hopes that someday I may be cured of my "incompatibility" with ANNET, or at least possibly reduce the "mild psychosis caused by work-related stress" as she calls it.
I know that it's not going to happen. The problem is something genetic and while those goons in the genetics department would love to get their machines into my brain, I prefer the lack of sleep and headaches to lobotomy.
I seen the reports on their test subjects: "total neural shut-down", "subject resists integration with the net, increasing the signal strength lead to damage to the 85% of the frontal lobe."
Call me old fashioned, but I like my brain the way it is.
I've had that day-dream again. Day-mare is more likely.
A flash-mare? Not sure what to call these, really.
The transmitter towers dotting this bloody city are making my life difficult, but not as difficult as the fact that everyone expects me t

A serving of inspiration...
We are all different, but aren't we eventually deep down all the same? Maybe you believe that, maybe you don't. Sometimes life has a way of forcing you to believe things that you never thought you would - and making you meet people that normally would never belong in your circle of friends. But for one reason, that maybe you don't even know at first, you end up together.
Two people who would not normally meet end up together by circumstance and di
Ready, Set, NaNo!So it's that time of the year again and we're all racing around trying to get our bits together for NaNoWriMo. OR, we're laughing at the people running around trying to get all their bits together for NaNo. In the past, I've written articles on what NaNo is and how to prepare for it. This isn't one of those articles. Well, not entirely. Let's start with the glaringly obvious.Ready, Set, NaNo!5 months ago in Literature Features More Like This
What's the point of NaNo?
If you answered "To write a 50k Word Count Novel in a month's time," you're wrong. NaNo is about conditioning writers to write regularly, keep those creative juices flowing and to work under pressure. November is a busy month. Students are back in school. Parents are dealing with said students. In the United States, we have Thanksgiving and of course everyone is getting ready for Christmas. Add in clearing 1,667 words a day and we're talking about some major pressure. But that's the poi
Snippy: poem of doomI've a lot of time on my hands living inside the whale and such. ....So, today I wrote a poem about Captain:Snippy: poem of doom3 years ago in Personal More Like This
Oh Captain, my Captain! I say it to mock,
You're lucky as hell but to me you're a c***.
Please spare me the missions, I've no head for heights,
Balloons and big lists lead me only to blights.
Evading the probes of an alien race,
Then having to witness your > : ( angry face...
But what choice have I? I'm involved in these fights,
With Cancerous space-monsters full of red sprites,
And Lemonade weirdos and God knows what next,
Just how can you stay so serene and unvexed?
What price should I pay for your simple delights,
Be eaten by whales after soiling my whites?
I know you won't listen, but you'll come unstuck,
And one of these days you'll run right out of luck,
Your empire will fall, and your ego besides,
It's karma for sure, like the turn of the tides,
And then I will lol, sitting in my own muck,
Coz after all this I just won't

How to Make the Most out of Lit Groups..and stay active! Which we all know isn't always easy. How to Make the Most out of Lit Groups4 months ago in Deviant Events More Like This
with a side of "submission rules, those tricksies"
Now, first of all: this article assumes a lot of stuff!
you're interested in writing and/or reading.you're not joining thousands of groups just to submit your stuff all over the place to get exposure but give nothing back.
you're not simply following groups to stay up-to-date on their events and news, without really wanting to participate in their life.
And with that off of our systems, let's start the tour!
First of all, remember this: Lit groups take a lot more effort than any other. This is because, obviously, reading through deviations takes more time than viewing pictures and photographs.
So let's create a fictional situation.
I know there are people who are on deviantART multiple times a day, but let's suppose that you're an average user who logs in once a day, and has thirty minutes to an hour of free time to devote to dA. And when you log in to
My friends need your help! Some of you who have followed me in the past may know about this wonderful little zoo called The Wildlife Learning Center. WLC cares for a few dozen wild and exotic animals and treats them as "ambassadors" to help teach the public about wildlife conservation. What is so wonderful about WLC, is that many of the animals in there care are rescues. Many were illegally kept as pets and were either turned over or turned in to WLC for proper care. Others were animals born in the wild, but injury or acclimation to humans kept them from being able to survive in their natural habitats. Still others were exotic pets who grew too large or otherwise difficult to care for by their original owners. Without WLC, all of these rescued animals would be seriously ill or dead.My friends need your help!2 years ago in Personal More Like This
Besides offering animals topnotch care, WLC is an amazing place to visit. This zoo is small, so visitors get to see the animals more up close and intimately than larger zoos. Even
