Tutorial and Reference HubHey Guys!
I do most of my research online for tutorials and references and stuff, and I've been wanting a place to collect them. So I thought: why not just make a journal entry that I can edit and update with references/tutorials as I come across them?
So here they are!

He's back! :DAt 5:45 this morning I hear my mom getting ready for work. She checks for the cat as usual, and after a little over 3 weeks he finally shows up at the door! Hearing how happy my mom and brother were, I got out of bed to check things out. He's back! :D1 year ago in Personal More Like This
He lost a good chunk of weight...I can feel his ribs and back now, not to mention, I can pick him up a lot easier, haha. He was pacing around the house a bit, not being used to us for a while. My other two cats are keeping their distance at the moment, so it will take some time for them to get used to him again. Maybe he was gone this whole time to trim some fat? I don't know, all I know is that I'm so happy he's back! As I am typing this, my cat is laying next to me.
I want to thank everyone for their support. Thanks for caring and cheering me up through my rough patch. Even if I haven't gotten around to replying back to some of you, I have read every comment here and I do appreciate it
Victim or VillainI've just started to notice how often, how ingrained, self-blame is when a person is a victim of societal circumstance. I was reading over some statistical data when I came to the summary of the article, a paragraph, that really struck me:Victim or Villain2 years ago in Personal More Like This
"It is part of social and legal convention in the United States to discriminate against, ridicule, and abuse
transgender and gender non-conforming people within foundational institutions such as the family, schools,
the workplace and health care settings, every day. Instead of recognizing that the moral failure lies in society's
unwillingness to embrace different gender identities and expressions, society blames transgender and gender
non-conforming people for bringing the discrimination and violence on themselves." - The National Transgender Discrimination Survey
It made me stop and think: do I harbor feelings of self blame? Two strips of Material Girl came to mind: when Noah has the stormy premonition and says "I was so sure...
Free Gender DirectiveThe binary system of "Male" and "Female" is effective, but limited. It provides tools context and meaning. This translates to life in terms of "what actions are open to me, and which are closed."Free Gender Directive2 years ago in Personal More Like This
As a society that claims liberty and the pursuit of happiness as its main tenets, I feel it is my duty to claim whichever activities I like best, and disregard gender claims altogether.
Equally important, however, is the gentleness and understanding that goes with disregarding convention and being sensitive to how such abandon affects others.
To all my brothers and sisters who supersede this binary system, lets do our very best!

There are lots of ways to be a womanThis is likely a no-brainer for most, but I know it helped ME when I not only knew this, but believed it.There are lots of ways to be a woman2 years ago in Personal More Like This
When I started out I thought to be a girl was one thing: ballet, heels, and dresses. I thought they were kindhearted and caring, nurturing, but fragile and needing protection. They were makeup and lipstick and long hair. They were nurses, teachers, and stay-at-home mothers. They all knew how to cook and naturally enjoyed cleaning.
Now obviously I realize that's bull. And it's a huge relief.
There's soooo much variety there it's hard to hold in my head. So many different ways to be. It helps me be okay with areas that I don't naturally want to pursue. It lets me look at some women and say "I'd never want to be like that, and that's okay." It lets me see myself as myself, and not a measure against an ideal.
