Despite her efforts to suppress it, Korra couldn't help but snicker as she bent down and carefully unhinged her daughter's jaw from her husband's finger. Mako quickly pulled his hand back, frowning at the baby.
"Tori, daddy's not a chew toy. No biting daddy."
Korra snickered again. Mako looked up at her.
"Don't laugh at me. You'll only encourage her."
"Yeah, like she understands what you're saying in the first place." She picked Tori up as she and Mako stood up.
"I think she might, actually. She obviously gets some sort of joy out of seeing me in pain."
"You're such a baby," Korra told him, "She only has two front teeth. How bad could it- Ow!" Korra looked down at her daughter. "Did you just bite me?"
Tori smiled at her, happily showing off her two front teeth. Mako smirked, slightly.
"You were saying?"
"Shut u- Ow!" She quickly handed Tori off to Mako. "Take the little snapping turtle-seal. I'm gonna go find her a teething ring, or a co

"Mako, relax. I got this."
"Are you sure? I've got a bad feeling about this."
"Of course I'm sure. Look, I'll even turn off the flashlight. That's how sure I am."
"Wait, no, turn it back on!"
"Someone scared of the dark?"
"No! But now we won't know when he's coming! He could be right behind us! Can you see anything? Because I don't see anything."
"You're such a baby. He's not gonna catch us."
"You don't know that!"
"What happened to the balls you had when we fought Amon? You weren't nearly this scared then."
"This is different."
"They're both evil beings without faces. I don't see how this is different."
"Amon didn't kill people!"
"I wouldn't put it past him."
"Just turn the damn flashlight back on, Korra."
Korra jumped back with a screech the second the flashlight flickered to life, and Mako nearly leapt out of his skin. His eyes scanned the trees around them for some signs of pursuit, heart hammering against his ribcage. When he realized all was quiet, he tu

It happened in a split second that was suspended over what felt like a short eternity.
It was the night of the Championships, and much to their immense unhappiness, the Fire Ferrets were up against the Wolfbats. Korra wasn't afraid to face their leader hell, she wanted to be the one to knock him clear into the drink but she more than a little concerned for her teammates. She knew they could handle themselves, but even Mako was on an edge. He paced back and forth in the little preparation room, trying to calm and center himself, but he just couldn't seem to relax. The Avatar knew how much this match meant to him how much this victory meant to them all, so he couldn't afford to be a mess of nerves. And yet he had been.
Up until the one match, the team had trained mercilessly, honing their skills and connecting closely, becoming nearly unstoppable. And while the Wolfbats lacked the emotional connection they held, they certainly had the physical aspec
AdoptionIt was a cold, winter day. The Great Mushroom War was still going, much to everyone's disappointment. The worst was over, but everyone stayed on their toes just in case someone dropped a bomb or something. But today was actually a peaceful day during war times. Everyone was inside, sitting next to loved ones by a warm fire, telling stories, making s'mores, drinking hot chocolate, or watching TV/movies. There was one girl; however, who was slowly trudging her way outside in the snow, trying to find shelter. The girl was but seven years old, had nothing on but an old tattered purple dress with one strap over her left shoulder keeping the dress in place. Under that is an old purple shirt. She also has a slightly ripped sock on her right foot, no sock on the other foot, and no shoes. The girl's skin was pale, she has short, raven black hair that reaches her neck, and she also has pointed ears. Small fangs are poking out of her mouth, and she is seen clutching an old stuffed bear close to hAdoption3 years ago in General Fiction More Like This
Practice Makes PerfectThe arena was gorgeous at night, and Korra didn't know if she'd ever get used to the sight of it.Practice Makes Perfect3 years ago in General Fiction More Like This
She had been tossing and turning in her bed unable to sleep for over an hour and had finally given up. Now she sat in her room, elbows propped up on her windowsill, staring at the arena, trying to relax. She wanted this constant irritation and doubt that had plagued her all day to just go away, but even the beauty of the arena's lights sparkling off the water didn't seem to be helping her forget her troubles.
It had been another rough day of training with Tenzin and the kids.
It was indeed true that something had clicked inside Korra, and after days of frustration, she could finally airbend. It was also quite true that she wasn't very good at it.
No matter what she did, it didn't seem like the rawness, the pureness, the sheer power of airbending was there for her. Tenzin kept trying to tell her that all she needed to do was practice more meditation, but that didn't make any sense. She wasn

I woke up this morning, and Marshall was gone. I can't believe he actually left. I got up and walked to the kitchen, and there was Marshall, I felt relieved.
"-Good morning Fi. I walked up to him and kissed his cheek.
-Hi Marsh, what are you doing?
-But why are there fruit that aren't red?
-because, I can drain the color red from stuff, but it still tastes like whatever I drained it from. And I thought you would like it."
He smiled at me and and returned to his smoothie making.
When he was done, he took too glasses and filled them with the smoothie. I took a sip and he looked at me.
"-What do you think?
-This is amazing!" I smiled at him and looked at him slowly suck the color out of the his drink.
I was almost done drinking my smoothie when out of nowhere I sneezed. Luckily, I didn't have anything come out of my nose. But the rest of the juice that was in my glass splashed all over Marshall's shirt.
"-Oh. My. Glob!!!! I am so sorry Marshall, that just came out
