Hi everyone. This is my journal made especially for others. This is where I will advertise for other deviants or people in need of help. This entry will be updated with new things added, and it will be added newest first, the oldest ones are further down. When it gets really cluttered, I will eventually have to clean it up. I see people needing help or wanting to help others every day. And because others have helped me in the past when I was going through some difficult times, I really want to pay it forward and help people who need it. I don't have a lot of money, so the best way I can help is by getting the word out to others. Please, if you have a moment, just read this journal and see i

Daisy is my second self-made doll (I don't really count my very first attempts here, haha).
My first one was Sophie http://fav.me/d570qbl.
When making Sophie, I didn't take as many photos of the progress, which is why I wrote out everything about her making http://fav.me/d570qff.
This time however, I took photos of about everything. So I will show you how I made my dolls in pictures. The process was about the same for both dolls, I only changed the design. And this time I solved the "hair-problem" right from the start... by using Barbie hair. xD

Of Broken Things and a Heartless ManThis is going to be long and stupidly detailed but I think I need to get this out because I have a feeling that I may not be the only girl with a story like this.Of Broken Things and a Heartless Man3 years ago in Personal More Like This
A couple of years ago I met a boy called S. He was kind, quiet and made me coffee every morning at an office we both despised for what it represented. I fell head over heels for his quiet charm, his music, his soothing voice: who he was. Except I didn't really know who he really was. Slowly, over the course of the relationship, he began to point out things he didn't like about me. He didn't like the way I overused certain phrases, the way I spoke, the way I sang, and he didn't want to listen to me talk about my past because it burdened him, and he didn't like that...basically all the little things that made me, ME would have to change. This is where I made the most critical mistake.
I changed for him.
I changed who I was to please S. And do you know what? The more I changed to suit his needs, the more demands he put on
Want to Work in the Industry?:iconbobbie-the-jean: made a very good journal entry where she briefly discusses what to expect in the film industry, and I thoroughly recommend reading it to familiarize yourself with what it's like:Want to Work in the Industry?1 year ago in Personal More Like This
I also recommend following her link to this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9lcB9u-9mVE&feature=youtu.be which really drives home some of the issues with the demographic for artists/VFX in the world right now. As an animation graduate we are made aware of these discrepancies while still at college, and the hefty workloads and looming deadlines with zero compensation and lack of sleep could be considered a precursor to what we could expect in future.
A lot of people still seem to have rose-coloured glasses over their eyes in regards to what it must be like to be a "good artist" hired in the industry; this is the reality of it. You have to take the good with the bad, there are no guarantees, and you really, really have to love what you're doing.
Merry Christmas and SHIPS!!!I friggin' love this grey weather, like you have no idea. So I leap on any chance I get to go out into it, and as always I force :icongellyh: to come with me. EEEEEEEEE SHIPS!!! Of course this totally counts as research for my animation major this year and everything,
The Captain gets all the best things.
Chillin' in the Captain's Cabin.
To the Captain's Command!
We found some BARRELS!!
Biggest goddamn barrels I've ever seen.
And also tried our hands at the guns.
Gellyh knows how to use a swivel cannon.
Evidently ... I don't.
But it was seriously cramped in there, especially in the guests' cabins for transporting important people.
No, I mean really, really cramped.

Fabulous view from up here, daaarling~

You can't say you can't!As a child I was a bright student, always used to grab among the first 3 positions in my class, teachers used to love me (I was never a teacher's pet though) and my mom and dad (specially dad) supported me with his heart and soul. We always have guidance/influence from others in some way or the other. I was fortunate enough to get them I guess. But there comes a time in your life where you need to move alone and build your own responsibilities, you need to make your own ways, you need make your own decisions and you need to choose the right path. You can't say you can't!2 years ago in Deviant Events More Like This
The world is cruel enough to pull you down every time you want to climb up. But you can't stop there. You have to move on. You can't say you can't!
I have seen a lot of phases in my life in the last 25 years. In deviantART everyone says they like the way I talk to people, the way I treat them and the way I guide them. May be I shouldn't use the word "everyone", perhaps it should be at least most of them says so.
I get a lot of people coming to

Hunger Games, Kingdom Keepers, and Mountain ApplesHi Guys!!Hunger Games, Kingdom Keepers, and Mountain Apples3 years ago in Personal More Like This
Just checking in... mainly to avoid finishing a paper on ocean water currents... but I do have a few cool tidbits of news.
Well, first off, I ran away from school this past weekend and escaped to the mountains. It actually was a planned trip, but I almost didn't go due to a huge overload of assignments in my painting and illustration classes. However, like an answered prayer, the deadlines for both classes were extended!! And I took the whole weekend off to recover from the past week and a half of hell I've been through. And gosh, I feel so much better. Nothing like the mountains to clear your head.
Anyway, while I was there, I moseyed over to Hildebran N.C., where there's this interesting little ghost town named Henry River Mill. Also known as District 12 from The Hunger Games!!! And guys, I got a picture of me standing on the steps of Peeta's bakery. The place was awesome, if not somewhat creepy too. It really is deserted and abandoned.
I also used my downtime
Free! Iwatobi Swim Club cosplay shoot outtakes! When my friends and I first heard of "that swimming anime" called Free!, this is pretty much what we expected:Free! Iwatobi Swim Club cosplay shoot outtakes!2 years ago in Personal More Like This
Not that there's anything wrong with that hahah, but all we were expecting was to be able to laugh at how exploitable and full of fanservice this show could be because swimming would require everyone to be half-naked. Although it started out that way, the more episodes we watched, the more we realized...
We were wrong. So wrong.
What we got was a heartwarming coming-of-age story with endearing characters and interesting dynamics. It spoke of friendship and learning your self-worth and figuring out what drives you forward.
I'd write more about how I feel about it but it would take up too much time and space over here, so here are a couple of posts that have already done the job well:
1. A detailed literary analysis and trope driven deconstruction of H
TUTORIAL - Tips for All ArtistsHello everyone!TUTORIAL - Tips for All Artists2 years ago in Personal More Like This
I have written a tutorial like this before here. But recently I have had more thoughts about it that I decided to share. As you may have noticed, I am not a professional artist, I am a hobbyist and self-taught, and what I will expose here is what I've learnt from my own experience. Even so, I hope this tutorial will be helpful to you!
Another note: English is not my first language, so I apologize if I commit any mistakes.
Feel free to correct my grammar any time, as well as make suggestions or asking questions!
This tutorial is for every kind of artist, but sometimes I will focus more on visual artists (since it's my speciality).
I believe that everyone can be an artist, and this tutorial has not only the purpose of providing advices and tips, but also motivation for all.
1. Your Image as an Artist on dA
2. Your Image as an Artist outside dA
3. Your Popularity
4. Your Art Process
5. Your Artistic Style
Monthly Challenge : MayHello poets and pickles (what?? where did that word pair come from...),Monthly Challenge : May2 years ago in Deviant Events More Like This
I've yet to choose a winner for April, but I want to start May's challenge punctually do give everyone enough time. I should have a winner for April announced within a week or so.
Last month I held a poll so you can all have at least one photo chosen by you guys, and that majority-voted stock is included below. With these given stock photos you can use one of them, a few, all, and combine them however you wish. And you can make however many entry pieces you'd like and in any medium --digital, traditional, even literature (still curious to see how that would happen...)-- as long as I can tell it's clearly based off the photos you were given. Oh, and the entries must be made after the beginning of each month (ie. after my journal announcement for each monthly challenge) and they are due before the end of that month.

Miyazaki vs OtakuIn case you haven’t heard this, renowned Japanese animation icon Hayao Miyazaki was quoted as saying that the reason the anime industry is suffering is because it’s overrun with “otaku.”Miyazaki vs Otaku1 year ago in Personal More Like This
You can read the full article here: http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/interest/2014-01-30/miyazaki/the-problem-with-the-anime-industry-is-it-full-of-otaku
Naturally, such a high profile artist such as Miyazaki coming down hard on Otaku has offended a lot of people and a bit of backlash has sprung up because of it. I’d like to try and reassure some of you that it’s not as bad as it might sound, and here’s why (please keep in mind this is from an American perspective).
“Otaku” in Japan is (or was) an offensive word, usually embodying the worse traits of obsessive basement dwelling collection completing socially inept geeks. It gained widespread negative connotations after the 1989 “Otaku Murders” carried out by Tsutomu Miyazaki (which are to
