In today’s Namesake update [link], Emma and Warrick are both wearing the trendiest modern fashion… of 1900, the year the first Wizard of Oz book was published. This is a little something special for you guys, mostly because I need a day off from drawing. Hope you’ll enjoy it!
Also, this print is available in our store. Select the option named “1900”. [link]
Thank you for all happy birthday wishes! You know what's awesome? My friend got for me the annotated edition of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, with original illustrations by Denslow! So excited asdfhsgfs So yeah, have this. I actually like inserting old documentation more than telling stories :Ъ
This is a postcard I drew of the two main characters of Namesake for the Namesake ([link]) book 2 kickstarter ([link]).
I really love this drawing. First off, I tried to design it like a playing card, since Wonderland is present in the story. Both characters have similar costumes and poses, but they still look different. Elaine is calmer, more confident. Her weapon is the pen. She needs to reflect upon her actions. Emma looks more worried, her weapon is a blade. She’s more of an “attack now, think later” type of person. Both girls have crows. Emma’s looks more fragile then Elaine’s.
Late happy birthday to my sweet friend (If you haven't checked her gallery yet, you totally should!)
Я точно слоупок ;w; Долго думала, кого нарисовать, но супер-бабушка с горничной точно стоят того, чтобы поздравлять с праздниками XD (рандомная палитра такая рандомная) Лучей любви и добра, как и обещала \>w</
So I've made silhouettes of all OZ characters that are more or less important for the story GOTTA DRAW 'EM ALL. Except for Quadling and Munchkin, they're big boys. (That awkward moment when you realize your universe has gotten huge) In case you're looking at them and wonder who're these people and why you don't remember them being in the first three books, don't worry: I've changed a lot, some characters are renamed, some are mixed together, some only slightly remind of their prototypes or completely belong to me. (Just to make it clear: first row are the rulers, second row first group - BBR protagonists, second group - storyline from the 'Marvelous Land of Oz', third row - the Winged Apes, fourth - Leslie's family, the last one - other freaks :'D That division doesn't mean anything though, all OZ storylines are tied together closely) Anyway, drawing silhouettes is funny, and it's a useful reference for me 'u' Of course these aren't the final concepts, but at least I'll be able to be guided by other guys' shapes.
