The legends were true?!Geek culture has many myths and legends, ranging from fabled disks and cassettes containing unreleased sequels of beloved games to Easter Eggs found only within the code of early versions of certain titles. The legends were true?!3 months ago in Personal More Like This
The most well known of these legends, the Holy Grail, the Ark of the Covenant, The Excalibur of Geek mythology, is that of the lost E.T. Cartridges – arguably the worst video game in history - buried somewhere in the New Mexico desert.
Now, they’ve been hiding unwanted stuff out in the deserts of America as far back as 1923. When filming finished on Cecil B. DeMille’s The Ten Commandments, they worked out it’d be cheaper to just bury the set than dismantle it. This lent the E.T. Cart legend a little credibility, but even I was skeptical of anything ever being found….

3D PRINTED PONY COMMISSIONSHow many times have you said to yourself "Man, I really want a show-accurate toy of _____, but there isn't one, and commissioning a sculptor would cost too much."3D PRINTED PONY COMMISSIONS2 years ago in Personal More Like This
RABIDPEEP AND I HAVE A 3D PRINTER. WE CAN MAKE TOYS OF ANYTHING. Want a figure of that one pony in that crazy pose from that one episode? WE CAN MAKE IT. ANYPONY. ANY POSE.
What the Heck?! How is this possible?
Okay, okay no. First I model the pony up in 3DS Max. That's right, no lifting free models off the internet—we custom-model these toys to order. I export the model, and then it gets converted into code for the printer. About eight hours later, we've got an unruly mess of plastic that has to be trimmed, at which point I usually slice all my fingers open with the X-acto knife. Twice. Then we throw it in a chamber with boiled acetone vapor to give it a quick smooth down befo
Toxic's guide to an off-season + S3 review (Read)S3 review and "bridge seasons" (READ IT)Toxic's guide to an off-season + S3 review (Read)1 year ago in Personal More Like This
Ok where do I begin. I'm not gonna make this crazy long about review season 3. I'll be honest...I still rank season 2 so far as the best season. Basically it has more of my favorite episodes. Anyway back to the issue at hand.....I think I'm beginning to understand S3 more and more. If ANYONE watched animes or cartoons with MULTIPLE seasons, ( *COUGH* DBZ for me cause I love it so much. ) you will see a pattern that develops.
• Season 1 - Usually you lay the ground work of characters and introducing new stuff as the season goes on.
• Season 2 - It varies but usually is the season you build on character development Usually the most in-depth season of a show.
• Season 3 - Now...this is hard to say. I'll stick with MLP....I consider this season a "bridge season".
• Season 4+ - Tons of new stuff. Basically it's like a new Season 1.
What do I mean by a "bridge season?"

First of all, if you're asking, "What's a Sarubobo?" I encourage you to google the art! It's originally a style of making tiny little charms from Japanese culture.
The one's I make are, of course, My Little Pony inspired!
I also do Pokemon and others!
Check out all the others I've made here!
I've been asked several times about the integrity of these little plushies, mainly associated with shipping worries. They are so tiny, and hand-stitched, after all! After many months of thinking, I found a way to describe how tough they are. Basically (and this is probably going to sound weird), they are kind of like little bugs. If you throw a bug against a wall, even with a decent amount of force, it will be perfectly fine. Tug too har

'For exposure' - a warning to artistsI ran into this Twitter page a few days ago. It's a collection of real comments that artists get all the time asking them to work for free, or, as these people often prefer to say, "for exposure".'For exposure' - a warning to artists1 year ago in Personal More Like This
People like this are usually trying to guilt-trip artists into taking on massive projects for no pay, claiming it'll be good advertisement or that they'll get paid once the project becomes a success. The truth is, the chances of getting picked up by a major studio are extremely small. The so-called free advertisement the artist may or may not end up getting is usually not worth the effort.
Just to give you a taste of the disrespect for an artist's time and energy that some people have, here's a choice quote:
"Need Animator-I have a story that's 4 seasons long, 10 episodes each. looking for maximum quality. No pay. I will warn that I am very picky"
Does this person even realize the amount of work that goes into animation? Depending on the

Guys!!! I meant RESERVATIONS are closed, not submissions! Anyone who hasn't had time to submit their part of the collab, DON'T WORRY - You're still in this! Please, don't feel like you missed your chance! I'm giving everyone time to finish work, or school, or whatever - so that they don't feel pressurized I hope that's cleared things up a bit!!
Looking over all the submissions I've received so far, I've decided to close the entries - we've got enough to make a full picture and I've not even got everyone's contribution in yet! How relieving! Also, for everyone who was worrying about finishing it before Christmas...
Don't worry. The deadline has been removed <3
Now I can finally make new journal entries! <3

No Death Star for you.I didn't know this until now, but the White House is obliged to respond to to a petition with over 25,000 signatures. I'm not quite sure what percentage of those 30,000+ citizens realise that using a planet-destroying laser to take out people on the planet on which you live is an ever-so-slightly flawed agenda.....

What is a Brony? While for a while the term Brony was used to mean boy, teenager or adult male who likes my little pony: friendship is magic, in this group we use the word to mean anybody who likes the show. A gender neutral word. Similarly to how "Cool story bro" isn't always directed at males. What is a Brony?1 year ago in Personal More Like This
Bronies, to me, are anybody who likes the show, no matter how much they like it.
False terms. Sane vs Rabid.
People obsess over all sorts of things don't they? I remember when I was younger being completely obsessed with Pokémon. I'd want all the games, I'd watch all the shows, I'd want all the trading cards. I still have many of my trading cards now because they still give me happiness when I can play with them with my friends. Did that make me a rabid Pokémon fan? No.
I think we all could use a bit of child like joy like that in our lives some times. Like when you are gaming or when you are maybe watching a funny YouTube video or whatever, it's nice to have that feeling.
Is it bad to be obsessive over a show
Comics Are ArtComic-Con Journey to the Heart of The New Summer VacationComics Are Art2 years ago in DeviantART Announcements More Like This
Americans have a long summer vacation tradition of visiting the foreign capitals of the world and being sure to spend at least one day in each nation’s most iconic art museum. In Paris, we visit the Louvre. In Madrid, the Prado. In Rome, the Borghese. We feel far more comfortable in identifying the different peoples of our planet through examples of their greatest art works than we do about identifying ourselves as being represented by any one iconic “American” art museum or artist. Maybe the country is just too big for one musuem and so it has always fallen to our pop arts to carry the true visual narrative of what’s going on in the hearts and minds of the masses.
Comic-Con has become the new arts and culture go-to in domestic summer vacation destin

To but it simply, I am planning to give the comic a big make over and update. I am not planning to change the drawing style or anything but change some important things or update them. For example, all character bios will be redrawn and updated! Current ones are old and the info is outdated so they need an update. Plus the art is old and I never really liked the bio sheets (even though everyone else seem to love them since I see so many pokemon bios in similar style). So, that is one thing I am planning to do.
Next, some character designs will change... Now now! Nothing too dramatic! To be hone

We ask ourselves, "Who am I to be brilliant? Gorgeous? Talented? Fabulous?"
Actually, who are you not to be? We are all meant to shine, as children do. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone, and as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."

I wish I could say I am surprised about this, but sadly the whole media frenzy surrounding violence in video games and movies reminds me of something that already happened once and profoundly affected the media it was accusing: Comic books.
During the early days of comic books, things occasionally got a little risqué. EC Horror comics in particular delighted in rendering extremely gruesome images and disturbing themes in their comics, which were being sold to children unbeknownst to their parents (because naive parents at the time had no reason to suspect comics might contain "inappropriate" material). However all that changed in 1954.
German-American psychiatrist Fredric Wertham was upset about how disturbing some of those
