Confessions - Learn from MeOkay, I'll be trying to make this simple. To explain the latest journal, and to share an experience that might help others that are in the same boat as me.Confessions - Learn from Me2 years ago in Personal More Like This
First things first: The original problem.
Ever since age 10-11 i've developed a very abstract way to see things. I've started thinking more and more how it would've been, If I could control the world. If I could be anything.
Create my worlds, live my worlds, die many times but keep the experiences before.
Rebirthing myself in another body with the experience I have now: I would be great. Phenomenal. I could fix my past mistakes.
And be so much more. Live so much more. Without fearing consequences. The world itself would be my playground.
It has fascinated me since, greatly. ( Monochrome is the artistic embodiment of this abstract emotion and thought.)
It has also been the fuel to my (soon to be developed) depression and suicidal thoughts.
I hate not having control. I hate having to feel bad, when I thought that by dying I would esca
Before you throw that pity party read thisBeing in touch with your weaknesses is important in order to grow as an artist, but are you so hung up on what you can’t do well that it’s holding you back? I'm not talking about the intermittent (or frequent) attacks of complete blockage, or even lack of inspiration, but full out pity parties. Before you throw that pity party read this2 years ago in Personal More Like This
I’ve seen far too many people on dA who post exercise after exercise, writing in the artist comments that once again they’ve failed, they’ve read hundreds of books, studied the masters for so many years, and they still cannot draw a photorealist rending of a man’s head. First of all let me say that I highly respect “self taught” artists and I’m not discouraging anyone who chooses (or must) go that route. However, setting realistic goals and finding your niche is extremely important. Let me say this: not everyone will be able to paint like a Baroque period artist! But that doesn't mean you can't be a painter, it just means

Common Misconceptions: Traditional ArtFirst of all, hello! It's been almost a year since I contributed a blog post to this lovely group so I want to say hi I'm back folks! I have a lot of artsy things to share with you all that I've learned (and am still learning) so hang on tight! While I was thinking what to write as my first topic, I decided to kind of go back to the beginning as far as our thinking as artists goes in the creation process. I've come up with a short series called "Common Misconceptions" just to debunk some myths and misguided trends that are so often part of what we experience as we grow. This first "Common Misconceptions" topic will focus on traditional art.Common Misconceptions: Traditional Art2 years ago in Personal More Like This

And feature is finished I featured first 58 thumbs I think (new number of thumbs is 66)... OK...edit...now I posted even more thumbs, cuz I saw that I have even more older posts. Lol, I had some error and it didn't show me first page... oh, I got so many comments (almost 100), so I'm sorry that I can't feature them all (cuz of errors). But don't worry, I make this kind of journals every month, so you can try to post your thumbs next time.
I hope you like this feature and enjoy. Give these artists some love and fav, watch their work... you can even fav this journal, so more people will be able to see their work. Thank you

That Green Eyed MonsterI’m not afraid to admit that I have been jealous of fellow artists. Jealous of their skill, their handling of material, their ability to make whatever they were doing “work,” and even jealous of their recognition. But, while jealousy can be a good motivator to push yourself harder, it can eat away at your self-esteem and damage your work. I got the initial idea to write an article about this after reading a news article about Florida artist Maximo Caminero. Caminero was arrested last week after smashing a vase part of Chinese artist Ai Wei Wei’s exhibition in Pérez Art Museum Miami… in the gallery. For those of you unfamiliar with Ai Wei Wei:That Green Eyed Monster10 months ago in Art Features More Like This

so, this july i am starting death vigil, published by image/top cow. it will be a monthly series limited to three 8-issue arcs, so there is a definitive ending. with this i have learned some of the things about publishing independent comics, and i am planning a video with some tips after i summarize my experiences. hopefully it will prove helpful for others to get their stuff published
but apparently rule 1 is promote preorders. preorders are crucial for independent books as they define the print runs, and are crucial to the sucess of the book.. so.. as my far more experienced friends told me to do....
death vigil is preorderable ...pretty much in any place or webstore that carries US comics.

I know! I've been away from DA and other online source due to that I've took care of my real life completely, I've been absent from art and I will try to reply most of notes on dA... but firstly, let me share with my happiest news that I bear with me. As a following update about Dingo's situation. I know, some of you may think by that time he could be on the rainbow bridge... he really could be gone, I could be utmostly depressed and even wouldn't be able to continue my health therapies. Who knows! But life really can surprise us...
As you see, he is still with us. I've been enjoying every single day with him!
Do you remember my last journal update about our Dingo? On that day when I updated, whil
The Ten Percent RuleIf you are working on a completely shaded drawing, or a finished art work, you may wish to follow the the ten per cent rule, which runs as follows: Make roughly ten per cent of your shaded areas black or near-black, and roughly ten percent white or near-white, with the rest of the artwork composed of a range of middle tones. This rule follows my deeper art philosophy that "beauty is in the middle tone." All areas of tonality must also follow the rule of balanced composition. I'm just formulating this rule now, but it seems that many high quality masterpieces, such as finished oil paintings and the best drawings, follow it to some extent. (not always, but many, I think.) For example, here's a typical masterpiece, a piece of art by Degas: http://penonpointe.files.wordpress.com/2011/09/edgar-degas-the-rehearsal.jpg I think you can very clearly see the ten per cent rule in effect here. The Ten Percent Rule2 years ago in Personal More Like This

about a year ago i was irresponsible did some things i shouldn't have, like drugs. and I did some silly stuff like draw porn of creepypasta characters. . it's not okay to use drugs as an excuse to draw porn where minors can see it i have removed the porn and people have put it on proper sites. and I'm sorry to the original creepypasta fandom who have to deal with my ooc characters becoming the "norm" i really didn't want this comic to get so out of hand. i can be a little two-faced at times im just so scared of upsetting people i ended up upsetting so many people.
that's all i really have to say I guess.

Segunda parte ^^ :NoMeDigas:
-Garchar: Tener relaciones sexuales o coito. En resumen, forma vulgar de decir "hacer el amor"
-Coger: Lo mismo que lo anterior pero más usado.
OCT 101 (2012) EDITDisclaimer: this is not a personal attack against any OCT's, oct admins, or conduct of oct admin teams in general. These are observations, thoughts, and tips that I felt should be taken into consideration when one decides they want to run an OCT in hopes that it makes things a little easier for people.OCT 101 (2012) EDIT2 years ago in Personal More Like This
FURTHER DISCLAIMER: every oct is different, someone doing things differently from the norm is not bad. These are all merely tools and guidelines meant to help. I've heard a lot about personal attacks being made using both my posts about OCT's as a way of bullying and pushing around the admins of other Tournament groups, and I do not condone it in the slightest. I'd like to apologize for anyone that has had that done to them.
For those who need more information!

If you don't accept criticism, you won't improveThis statement is, to be blunt, incredibly stupid. I see it repeated around DevianART and, as bad as it is hearing it from the general public, I have to laugh uproarously when I see it coming from an artist. I usually try to be more diplomatic, but sometimes my inner Snape just can't be contained. If you don't accept criticism, you won't improve3 years ago in Personal More Like This
Here is the reality of the situation. A person who is building a set of skills can improve without feedback of any kind. Through trial and error, a human being can identify their own mistakes and, with honest work, rectify those mistakes. To say that this is not possible is so counter to reality as to be absurd. I could give thousands of examples but I'll just say this: if it were not for an individual's ability to invent skills from within themselves we would have absolutely no skills to pass on to other people.
Is this a good reason to reject any kind of negative criticism or criticism in general? Does this mean that criticism is useless? Absolutely not. This

So okay some of you got jellin of my fine japanese language desu ne.
I thought of why not teach my lovely watchers speak japanese?
Okay let's start with the simple one. If you want your sentence to sound like japanese you need to put 'desu' at the end of each sentences. Now before we start using 'desu' let me tell you first what it means. It would be stupid if you're using the word that you don't know right? Okay the word 'desu' comes from the latin word 'Canius Femina' meaning bitch. For example I love you desu (I love you bitch).. Tehehe kidding aside. Okay the meaning of 'desu' is really hard to explain but basically it's a polite modifier or it can also mean " It is ", "Those are" , or "I am." or whatever.
Now that you know the word desu let's use it in a sentence.
Fuck you desu. V(=^･ω･^= )v
Lazy Nezumi stroke smoothing for Photoshop.Hey everyone, just wanted to bring to your attention a plugin that might be useful for you. It's called Lazy Nezumi, and its main function is to help smooth your strokes out when you're drawing. So, if you want really tight, smooth lineart, or just clean lines in general it's pretty great. In a way, it lets you create a digital stroke closer to how you would on paper or a canvas, it just gives you more control. It's akin to the Lazy Mouse feature in Zbrush, or the Steady Stroke feature in Sketchbook Pro (which I'd highly recommend for anyone doing lineart, it has other great features as well).Lazy Nezumi stroke smoothing for Photoshop.1 year ago in Personal More Like This
There's a free demo for 30 days you can try out first and see if you like it. It has other features as well, but the one I find the most useful is the "pulled string" method under position processing, when you click details. It's something you might have to try to understand, but it can be super useful.
The main issue I see is that
Developing Artists FAQHey everyone, just wanted to make a new journal about some stuff that's goin on in my head, and to those who care feel free to read.Developing Artists FAQ3 years ago in Personal More Like This
So I've just graduated with a BA in the Arts (WOW SOOOOO HARDCORE) in late April. Aside from handling small freelance and commission stuff between my spare time, I also started working full time at a local mobile game studio as a concept artist and animator.
Now thinking back on my journey so far, I've met a lot of obstacles and obviously overcame many of them, and the ones I didn't overcome I keep on trying. For the longest time, while being in this online art community filled with countless talents of various degrees, I have sought knowledge amongst the community here, and in turn people have also came asking for knowledge in return. While I specialize in the entertainment industry as a visual production and sometimes pre-production artist, there have been many learning curves that I had to tackle by myself, because lets face it, if school wa
