Mass Effect 3 - Happy Ending Mod...Mass Effect 3 - Happy Ending Mod2 years ago in Personal More Like This
Yet again the Mass Effect Fandom proved that it will not leave the ending in the state it was presented in the game. A certain (fan!) mod was created (and is right now in the testing phase) a Happy Ending Mod for ME3. We can destroy the Reapers, Shepard lives (EDI and Geth too) and most importantly of all we don't have to worry about the Star Child.
Instruction how to install it and the mod itself can be found here:
You can also check how the mod works here on youtube:

The Leviathan and the Death of HopeWarning: contains spoilers concerning the Leviathan DLC, Mass Effect 3 and my notions about what good writing is. Duh.The Leviathan and the Death of Hope2 years ago in Personal More Like This
There are moments when I wish I could just turn off my writer's sense at a whim and "just go with it". Ignore that a story in a game, or a movie, or a book, or a TV show is flawed in my opinion, just to enjoy the views, get an adrenaline rush from all the flashing colors and have fun. And truth be told - it usually works that way... Just not for the universes I tend to care about. If you got me invested in your franchise, I will expect you to deliver the goods. 'Tis how the cookie crumbles.
Which brings me to the Leviathan DLC. I've seen a lot of positive reviews and emotions towards it popping up all over the internet before I was even able to check it out myself. My hopes were high, and, initially, I loved it. It had a sense of exploration Mass Effect 3 was seriously lacking and the TGES Mining Base really reminded me of Noveria... It was spot on.
Mass Effect ReferencesSome time ago, I created a tumblr account (which can be found here). I'm not sure if I will ever get around to posting anything in it (or figuring out how to use it), but if anyone wants to make requests there, feel free to do so.Mass Effect References3 years ago in Deviant Events More Like This

Way awesome of you guys to ask Weekes this! <3
However...there is that one question I bet we all ponder over...
HOW do they sleep? Are there...special fringe-friendly pillows? Standing up? Pillow showed down into the cowl? On their stomach?
I keep picturing the cowl pillow. A guy with his cowl stuffed full of cozy. That makes me happy.
I think about this...all day. Every day.
This list was put together by Mr. Graz :iconikraiga: and Squeeze the Fish, figured I'd share it with my fellow turianphiles here, unless you've already seen it.
These are all canonical facts.

Still Here, Still Writing, Still DreamingWell, it's the end of 2012 and the world still exists, and for that I can only be grateful. You see, life can be a funny thing. One minute you're sat at a desk, on your Packard-Bell desktop, forgoing your usual spates of Delta Force and Red Alert to place your first written words on a page. The next, you're here, with a couple of fan stories under your belt and work underway on a novel you've envisioned since you were a spotty, awkward teenager. I'm now ready to turn professional with my craft. I'm motivated, consistent and productive, though this has all come about within the last six months alone.Still Here, Still Writing, Still Dreaming2 years ago in Personal More Like This
How did I reach this point? A combination of the right words, the right places and the right people would be the obvious answer and yet it's not quite as simple as that. I've had to make some huge changes in both my life and what lies deep inside. Not my internal organs of course, I'm talking about my very outlook towards what I love to do.

It's called Write or Die. http://writeordie.com/ It's like a other tools, wherein you set a word goal and a time limit, but with a twist. You can set it to "kamikase" and if you don't write for a few seconds, it slowly turns red, and then deletes the last word you wrote. Then the word before that, and so on, until you start typing again. You can also disable backspace, making this a phenomenal freewriting tool. You can't edit or fix typos.
I was stuck with getting started writing chapter 13, which I already had plotted out but couldn't seem to get rolling, when I tried it. I powered through the miasma of fractured thoughts and worries in about fifteen minutes. At the end of the session, my heart was pounding. That's what good writing feels like to me, so I wanted to pass the word alon

In Memory of Robin SachsIn Memory of Robin Sachs2 years ago in Deviant Events More Like This
With the news just released to the news, I would like to share this to any who have not read it yet.
Robin Sachs has suddenly passed away on February 1, 2013, short of his 62nd birthday. Most Mass Effect fans will know this man as the voice of former Blue Suns mercenary, Zaeed Massani. However, Robin Sachs is a veteran voice actor to video games, and a veteran actor to the small screen.
Voice Acting Credentials:
Zaeed Massani - Mass Effect 2 and 3
Lord Pyral Harrowmont/Murdock/Experienced Human Male - Dragon Age Orgins
Admiral Saul Karath - Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic
Along with Rainbow Six, Kane and Lynch, and Resident Evil.
He is also a veteran science fiction actor having roles from Babylon 5, Star Trek Voyager, Torchwood, to Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
This versatile actor that has become synonymous with Zaeed Massani, will be missed.

Mass Effect 4 is coming, Omega DLC is confirmedBefore we get into it, I'd like to preface this with the sad fact that both of Bioware's co-founders Ray Muzyka and Greg Zeschuck have retired from the company.Mass Effect 4 is coming, Omega DLC is confirmed2 years ago in Personal More Like This
On the marginally plus side, I won't have to be constantly double-checking my blogs to make sure I got their names right.
To read both of their personally written farewell letters, please go to here http://blog.bioware.com/2012/09/18/from-ray-muzyka/ for Ray's, and here http://blog.bioware.com/2012/09/18/from-greg-zeschuk/ for Greg's
For those of you who would like to pay their respects to the departing minds which have supporting Bioware through the years with their own thank yous and other supportive messages... do not go to the Bioware Social Network. Really, go anywhere but there. The Dragon Age forums are busy talking about Dragon Age 3 and discussing how terribly they are suffering, and the Mass Effect forums are busy talking about Mass Effect 4... and how terribly they are suffering.
Which leads me to the meat
Morrowind FeatureMorrowind Feature2 years ago in Art Features More Like This
The Elder Scrolls III Morrowind is my favourite game of all time, and it will always hold a special place in my heart. I've been planning for awhile to put together a game-inspired feature; unfortunately, it is very hard to find genuine fan art since most Morrowind-related deviations on dA are game screenshots (or manipulations thereof), and I found only a limited number of devs I could use.
For those unfamiliar with the game, Morrowind is an open-ended first-person RPG with an expansive and detailed world, released in 2002. The central plot concerns the deity Dagoth Ur, housed within the volcanic Red Mountain, who seeks to gain power and break Morrowind free from Imperial reign. In addition to the extensive main quest, there are detailed discursive quests for a variety of factions, including various guilds, religious organizations, and aristocratic houses.

citadel DLC excitementHoly crap this upcoming DLC looks awesome, Miranda will be returning which I can only assume means we might have other ME2 characters involved, plus Robin Sachs (the voice of Zaeed who unfortunately passed away just recently) is also confirmed so it'll be great to hear him one last time.citadel DLC excitement2 years ago in Personal More Like This
All in all it just seems like they're really going to be focusing on characters this time around which is what I have always wanted from these games as opposed to the repetitive actiony feel of Omega's DLC; and the mention of new love interest content has me particularly excited (for obvious reasons relating to my mshenko obsession).
Just bittersweet that it's the last one for Mass Effect 3 but hopefully that means they'll really deliver this time.

My dog, Sir Puddles, is really ugly, but I still love him.
By the Maker, people, I DON'T want to marry your sons. I just want to FIGHT.
DAMN IT, TIM CURRY. DAMN YOU. I should have known! GAH!
This game is as every bit as awkward as real life with the constant, "Oh, hey, you do stuff AND have a vagina? Not a lot of people here have vaginas. That's so weird. You are weird for having a vagina."
Okay, back to killing stuff and talking to dudes and having a vagina. All at once, even.
Since people have been asking about my character and decisions and whatnot, I'm adding that here:

Now normally this is where I'd gush about how being here has made me an amazing writer (or at least getting there), how awesome a place this is, and how great the features of this place, but I've only been here a year or so at this point. Not to mention I don't think I use half the features right.
What I can say is that I'm certain the reason this place is as big and successful as they are here is the people who are in it. In a few months here, I'd already made some of the best friends you can make on online chats and notes alone, and some of the worst friends you can make. I'm happy to be friends with all of them. Until I came here, the notion of having characters that could go somewhere, have a plot, character development, to have their own very story was something I honestly didn't think I could do; I'd just stick with fanfictions please. But after only a short while here that very idea was pounded
Tossing Around Another IdeaThe cottage was almost an hour’s walk from the nearest village. It was a small thing, and a rough wooden fence separated it from the dirt road in front of it and the thick, dark woods behind it.Tossing Around Another Idea2 months ago in Personal More Like This
It was a few hours after dusk, and the woods had fallen still and silent. A lone figure stopped in front of the house, eyeing it with something not unlike distaste. Then the figure was opening the gate and walking briskly toward the front door.
"You can stop right there." The voice came from the shadows, a low, predatory growl. Green eyes gleamed in the dark, and something inhuman stirred beneath tanned flesh.
The figure stopped and pushed back their hood revealing pale skin, blue eyes, and pink hair. Full lips curled in a mixture of amusement and contempt.
"How little you’ve changed, Fang. You’re still living in a hovel." The pink-haired woman chuckled. "Still worrying about the humans, even after all these centuries. You’ve gotten soft."
Fang snarled. “It
AttitudeOften I get asked what it takes to get into the game industry and, aside from the very obvious 'be good at what you do and know people', you have to have the right attitude to get there. It's a very tough world out there so you have to learn how to roll with the punches. You'll get good feedback, terrible feedback, smack from people you've never even heard of!Attitude6 months ago in Personal More Like This
It's all about how you handle it and how you move on. Keeping a positive attitude is not always easy but just know that everyone goes through shit times and break down every now and again.
Here was an average day for me before I got work:
11:00 get up
11:05 get breakfast
11:10 get to work
18:00 get food
18:30 back to work
03:30 stop working
It got me down at times but I knew it was all about attitude so I tried to keep positive and push through. Willpower is definitely a finite resource so dont overdo it! Take breaks, get fresh air, relax. I didnt do that enough and I really regret it.
The thing is, it's a rough path

2014 Winter Anime RecommendationTop recommendation:2014 Winter Anime Recommendation7 months ago in Personal More Like This
D-Frag! - Anime adapted from a manga. It's a comedy series based around a so-called 'delinquent' involving a weird club. The basic premise is straightforward but it's a funny and cute anime with memorable characters. The main girls are cute and the jokes are fairly decent though it heavily relies on the main character to be the tsukkomi while everybody else are being their usual brand of random-insane-weird. Some minor fanservice here and there, 4 episodes in and I think it's all around good enough to be a top recommendation. It skipped some chapters from the manga though.
Gin no Saji Season 2 - A second season for Gin no Saji. If you followed the first season, definitely follow the second season. It's still really good and it's also refreshing to see how educational this series can actually be. Also, many Hiromu Arakawa's signature style of character.
Mikakunin de Shinkoukei - A romcom featuring a destined childhood friends. The main strength of the comedy is obvio

Significance is BeautifulLacking wisdom of my own, I'll share some more from Robert Henri (1865-1929):Significance is Beautiful6 days ago in Personal More Like This
"In my understanding of color, there is absolutely no such thing as color for color's sake. Colors are beautiful when they are significant. Lines are beautiful when they are significant. It is what they signify that is beautiful to us, really. The color is the means of expression. The reason that a certain color in life, like the red in a young girl's cheek, is beautiful, is that it manifests youth, health; in another sense, that it manifests her sensibility."

Every year is like a chapter of our lives.
The object of a new year is not a celebration of a new year, nor having a new number displaying in our callendar but it is where we should have a new soul.
To sit down and think over how to improve up our lives.
Also is not a day to cry out loudly how our past year was unsuccessful and impatiently wait when it will be over, start a new, but to learn who we are and how we can move forward.
I'm not here to wish a good New Year Eve since it's not the only day which will decide how our new year will be like… however what I truly wish you guys lots of joy for every day for this year, as well for next year- regardless what is the day or what's happening. Every day is a miracle and a proof of our existence.
Smile to yourself while looking at your image reflected by mirror and don't be shy to say "I love you" to yourself. And lots of love to all livings forms, animals and nature and less interest to mater
