The Fall of WinterThe Fall of Winter1 year ago in Free Verse More Like This
Suddenly it broke through the chill of night, the morning star.
The cold fleecings from exhumed lands hover downy white as newborn clouds.
Only a few more such morns and their weave will be as thick as snow.
What a drama betwixt such extraordinary seasons this is today!
The icy fingers of winter's grip have nearly stabbed into the earth's utmost.
Won't be long now before goddess Gaea will have to turn her face hard against it!
And keep thick her veil!
With tummy full and harvest chores done its time she dreams of Spring again!
