ZAP!! That's all I'm say'n.

O.k. well, not quite. This is another character that was new to me. Here we have the powerful Sith lord oozing with force lightening. Don't stand too close.

You'll see this illustration on the "Jedi Academy" package for the Star Wars Miniatures line.

Mixed media: acrylic, oil colored pencil and wee bits of airbrush

So this was yet another Star Wars character that I was unfamiliar with until this assignment came along. I was asked to imbue the admiral with the look of a "confident and brilliant military man. Striking features and red eyes. The pose and body language should reflect that he is emotionally controlled."

Illustrated for the Star Wars miniatures: Imperial Entanglements packaging art.

I used the same mixed media approach, washes of acrylic in the background and oil built up on top for detail and glazed in for color modulation.

A packaging illustration for the Star Wars miniatures line entitled "Galaxy at War".

All of these SW's pieces are painted around 11x17" size. This piece was mostly acrylic. I think I used a few subtle oil washes here and there, and of course you can see some colored pencil in the background.

Darth Revan vs Darth Nihilus-Colored version.

Pencils: Edgar E Pena
Colors and BG: Largo Intergala

Heres the b&w version: clarkspark.deviantart.com/art/…

EDIT: I tweaked the exposure a bit to allow the colors of the clothes really stand out. I really like the way this one turned out. On a side note my next one might be Darth Malak vs Darth Sion? We shall see.

Characters are copyrighted LucasArts.

EDIT: Had to add watermark, too many thieves. :/

The story is based on Weasel 102's idea. The Galactic Empire has found a hidden Rebel base, as the rebels evacuate stardestroyers bombard the planets surface while ties intercept the ships and fighters fleeing.

The Old Republic is no more and the Imperial order rules the galaxy under control of Emperor Palpatine. Wave upon wave of ships enter space combat for the first time in an attempt to end the Rebellion against the newly formed Galactic Empire.

Here's another SW illustration for a fan fiction (I suppose this could also go into the Fan Art category, as Soontir is a "canon character...")--it's of Jag Fel's father, Baron Soontir Fel. I don't have all the details of his character, only what I read in the NJO novels: a former military officer, a man of regal bearing, great courage and conviction. I hope this portrayal fits all of that! ;)

George Lucas owns all things Star Wars, this character, et al!

2H, H, 2B, 3B pencils on smooth surface drawing paper, some Kleenex and tortillons.
