This was created in anticipation for the new Star Wars Episode VII movie coming out in 2015. My wife and I are the models for this one. I created the clothing using a cloth texture and the spikes on my character were created from some pictures I took of some lobsters we had for dinner.

Found a great image by this talented artist, Allison Sohn

Being a fan of her work I thought it would be fun to recreate one of her pieces of art that didn't involve sheepdogs, but still retains sheepdog color scheme.

STAR WARS
The helmet is a limited 500 piece EFX Sandtrooper helmet that I modified, changed the lenses to Dark green movie accurate lenses and added a voice amplifier and speakers in it. I also modified and painted it to match the rest of my armor. Later the belt and shoulder straps were replaced with canvas straps. The entire snap, buckle, and close system was built up by myself. Certain elements of the armor that are unique to sandtroopers were sculpted by myself in order to modify this from stormtrooper armor. Boots where purchased from Caboots.com. Additionally, leather ammo pouches and shoulder pauldrons were purchased from dealers online and then painted/weathered by me. This is several different coats of various desert earthy colors applied with brushes, sponges, tissues, etc.

I said I would post this, so here it is, my Mara Jade cosplay from Celebration VI in Orlando.

So what did it take to make it? The cape clasp I crafted from Sculpey, and the cape itself is linen. The catsuit is one I ordered, cut the sleeves off of, and tailored in. I eventually plan to make a proper catsuit with the panels and seams when I can spring for the fabric. The belts are made by recovering vinyl belts with leather from a cut apart pair of pants, and then staining the leather with shoe polish. This gave the belts the rigidity and soft edge I wanted, and made sure that they all matched in hue. I used the Custom Saber Shop for obtaining my lightsaber parts. The most time-consuming part of this costume was the back plate. It is made up of the remains of a plate for a shower head and the cup from an ash-tray, melded together with a fair amount of Bondo. It was a fun headache to make and have ready in time for the convention, but I was really happy with it. :)

Here's another attempt at one of these toy "Han Solo" guns. I think I improved the wood and metal surfaces, but it also took more time. I'll take that tradeoff, hehe

I will be doing more SW stuff soon so please check back or have a +watch :)
