So happy to get a photo like this. I didn't think I'd ever find a cool Graffiti spot in the area of Chicago that I live in. It's actually illegal to buy/sell spray paint in the city, so that's why Graffiti is more rare here than I thought it was.

I'll go into details on how I made the entire costume in the next photo I upload (which will show more of the outfit).

Edit: for full costume construction, read here!

For the wig, I used a Pumpkin Jareth from Arda-wigs.com, styled with stiff felt, fabric glue, Got2be hairspray, and extra short wefts.

The headphones are tons of fun because they still function like normal headphones. I found a large headset on clearance at Walmart and just built over them in craft foam (finished with Mod Podge and acrylic paints). I have an ipod shuffle hiding in my collar so I can blare the game's soundtrack and confuse people on awkwardly silent elevators.

We had a cosplay gathering at the Missouri Capital this last weekend to help promote Cosplacon [link] . I chose to wear Aqua because it was more comfortable in the summer heat, and I really wanted to get some photos with the architecture. :3
Also hadn't gotten any pictures with my keyblade until now. It's made out of a square wooden dowel, insulation foam, and craft foam. I took lots of progress photos, so I might make a WIP tutorial later.

I keep forgetting I cosplayed Mako at Afest. And then I find photos and remember. XD It was a very last minute and low budget costume, but I feel like it turned out...ok? XDDD

I'd been watching The Legend of Korra with my friends over the summer, and we all wanted to cosplay characters from it together. Not all of us were able to finish costumes or coordinate everything at the same time, but I volunteered to be Mako so I could have bro-time with one of my best friends, who is like a sister to me. <3 I styled her Bolin wig out of a black Jareth (from Arda Wigs) that was recycled from our friend's Anri (DRRR) costume. Making the curl in the front was fun. Used leftover wig fibers from other wigs to make the fake hairline and curl.

I used a Blue Steele in Black from Arda wigs, and I used hair that was cut from the bangs to make the fake front hairline. Guess I'll need a new wig for my Young Justice Robin cosplay (haha - another costume I made that I sometimes forget about). The jacket was modified from a Simplicity Pirate Coat pattern (Yeah, that red one!), and I used a grey suiting fabric for the outside of it. The inside is lined in a slightly lighter grey broadcloth. I know the grey is supposed to be significantly lighter, but I got it for free from my broski (and free is good when you're poor, which at the time I was). Also, I did a ton of research on his jacket trim, and the animators can't seem to decide if it's Orange, Red, Brown, or something in-between. I went with orange because I already had, like, 3 packets of the stuff on-hand (I got it ages ago for Dark Signer Carly, but didn't end up using that much of it).

The scarf was a scrap of velvet I had leftover from another costume. I liked how it draped.
The gloves were cheap clearanced gloves from JoAnn's that I chopped up and added bands of black broadcloth around the wrists.
The pants and shoes were from my closet, and I made some very last-minute spats out of leftover grey suiting fabric.

I think I spent less than $15 on this costume. It was awesome. ^______^

Finally brought my Robin Cosplay to a con and got some decent pictures! :3
One of my friends had a big Young Justice group, and they were needing a Robin for the DC photoshoot at Ikkicon. Much thanks to her for the invite, and also big thanks to Crunchy Ramen for being such an excellent Photographer! [link]

I originally made it within a couple days before the midnight release of the most recent Batman movie. I happened to have enough materials leftover from other costumes that I didn't have to buy anything extra for the outfit besides a couple zippers. It's not quite my ideal choice for fabrics, but I'm pretty happy for how it turned out considering I was on a tight budget at the time. XD

The wig is a Blue Steele in Black 064 from Arda-wigs, and I only had to do a bit of trimming in the front and minimal styling.

All the yellow fabric was leftover rib knit from Pikachu, and the black broadcloth was just something we had a large amount of since it's handy for linings and other things.

I had a poncho pattern I based the cape off of (shortened the front, lengthened the back, and took it in so it fits my shoulders well when my arms are down).

I stretched the yellow fabric over pieces of foam board and cardboard and hot-glued it in the back for his utility belt pieces. The belt itself is craft foam with fabric stretched over it the same way, and it velcros shut in the front.

I used a lightweight jacket pattern for the top base, and the fabric is a leftover red knit from Princess Jaden/Judai, with a black knit fabric for the sleeves. Yellow clasps are foam covered in the yellow fabric, and they go on with velcro. The "R" is heat-n-bond applique with nice satin-stitching around the edges.

There are two pieces of craft foam that are connected to the belt and also covered in the same red fabric as the top (made it this way so I could borrow black skinny pants from another cosplay without making any permanent changes. Ended up being a good idea because I forgot to pack said pants and ended up borrowing some black leggings from someone for the photoshoot).

The gloves are made out of the same kind of black knit fabric as my sleeves, and the grey pieces are made out of craft foam shapes that have grey fabric stretched over them.

The mask is just craft foam, and it's held on with spirit gum.

I wanted to make a new DA ID since the old one was old. XD

I did something like this a very long time ago with all my cosplay work, but that was back when I only had a few costumes.

I've made over 40 costumes now, and these are just some of my current favorites.

I know people have their own preferences and favorites, but please keep any negative comments about the costumes/characters you don't care about to yourself. These are my personal favorites, and all I ask is that people be respectful of my opinions even if you don't feel the same.

Judai/Jaden is one of my more simple costumes, but he's always lots of fun to cosplay. Ironically he's a fan-favorite, though I don't completely understand why. XD

Aqua is a cosplay I'm really proud of for craftsmanship and accuracy. It's still not 100% done since I need to make a keyblade, but hopefully I can get that done in the next year. She's my favorite female character I've cosplayed.

Though I feel some parts of Guy were a bit rushed, I was very pleased with how my cosplay turned out. With Tales of the Abyss getting re-released next month I've been really anxious to cosplay him again.

Yusei is my personal #1 favorite. I feel stronger and super cool when I walk in his shoes; I really admire his character for his talents and personality. The cosplay itself has had so many stages, and it has pushed me as a cosplayer to try new things and improve.

Cloud is another cosplay that I feel really demonstrates how much I've grown as a cosplayer over the years. My gun prop is one of the best props I've ever made, and I'm also wearing the best pair of gloves I've ever made. The wig is one of my favorites I've made so far. :3

I really love how my Matt cosplay turned out, and I really want to find an excuse to bring it to another con someday. It's perhaps one of the easiest costumes I've ever made, but it's very comfy and nostalgic.

Haou Judai was my hardest costume to make so far and a huge test of patience and pain tolerance (lol). It's an obscure design, but a really cool one.

I don't wear Yami as much anymore since there are some things I want to remake, but it was the cosplay that started my chain of YGO work and marked a huge revolution in my cosplay hobby. The puzzle is my favorite part, but the wig was my first crazy styling attempt. I never thought styling wigs would be something I'd ever be good at, which is why I always encourage cosplayers to experiment and not be afraid to try new things.

Friday morning of Katsu, a photographer pulled us aside for some photos. When he showed us what he got on camera I was blown away, and then I about fanspazzed after he gave us one of his postcards with photography I recognized. His work is fantastic!

Costume was made and worn myself. I also styled my own wig and made my own props.
