Joining the Ranks of the Woefully UnemployedToday I got the news that the game dev studio that both I and my husband work for is closing. His last day is the 15th and they are keeping me on until the end of the month to help with the odds and ends of everything. We're both getting an alright severance package and his vacation was maxed out so we'll be getting that, too. Financially, we'll be okay. We have savings and we both have marketable skills that we can use to make money if we need to (art for me, web dev for him). This is certainly not what I would call convenient, but I am seeing it as an opportunity for both of us. I'm far too lazy to quit my job to try something new. But in this case, the choice wasn't mine and I'm thrust into a new world of possibilities.
