How To Give Better Comment - (Edited Version)Ever wanted to know the key in giving better comments? Tired of your ordinary short phrases that go no where, and have no point? If you are trying to improve your comments, look no further than this guide here. How To Give Better Comment - (Edited Version)9 years ago in Personal More Like This
How To Give Better Comments
During our visit here at deviantART, upon submitting our deviations, what is expected next? Comments! However, here's a little fun past-time activity: take all the excellent, if not better, deviations comments in your gallery. Now take a look at all the deviation comments you've ever received. You will notice that good comments don't happen as often as they should. Although we all want good comments and to be better commenters ourselves, we have to act upon it instead of just sitting around and hoping to receiving nice comments after submitting something. Give, to receive.
Here I show you the basic concept of commenting, to make yourself a better commenter; and I don't mean being a 'good' commenter since everyone comments in his or her own way. That i

Choose any media or medium and there is no question that Drones have become the white hot center of debate for a multitude of deeply consequential concerns for the entire Earth Sphere. No matter the digital end point or theatre of conversation, whether it be politics, war, privacy, pop culture, or the rise of machines – Drones or UAV's (unmanned aerial vehicles) are the current catalyst du jour in any number of flashpoint discussions. From the front page headlines of news outlets around the world, to op-ed pages debating national security vs. non-juridical “just

Well, a few days ago this guy was invited into a place where people have had bad lives and are trying to get back on their feet and we live in apartments where I've been set on moving out but anywho the story:
We have a nice guy living in a room that holds two people while I live in my own room, I pay rent for, it was my birthday so I was out and left my door unlocked since we worked together, well someone, who used to live on the street was invited to stay here and while I was gone he went through my laptop bag, looking for something he could sell where I couldn't get it back or recovered.
He didn't take my credit cards because he knew that I could turn those off, he didn't take the laptop which cost $1000 or my smart phone, instead he took my stun gun, where witnesses say they saw him trying to sell it for $5, a $60 dollar self defense weapon for $5! Now here's the kicker. Everyone in the house knew that I had anti theft on my machines, including my machines in storage. p

BRB SkyrimIf I can't complete my new gtk3 theme until Friday I'm just going to say: "be right back." (Yeah right.)BRB Skyrim2 years ago in Personal More Like This
On another note I've seen my theme Zukitwo being included and modified for several GNU/Linux distributions.
- Lubuntu uses a slightly modified version of it.
- Linux Mint is working on Mint-Z which is based on it.
- PinguyOS uses it.
This is what my view of open sourcing is all about. Share, modify, distribute.
This means better feedback for bug fixes as it now gets a larger user base. Some bugs are a pain to fix because of badly programmed applications that requires workarounds. Launchpad is great as I can subscribe to bugs and see if there are any patches available for bugs that I don't know how to fix. A PPA for Zukitwo and some of my other themes may be up once I've figured out how to update my uploads there without having to remove, repackage and re-upload etc. (There's one up now but the current upload is outdated.) I'm thinking about going for quality instead of quantity n
Can't come up with a title so I'll just say derp.Compiz is dead. Metacity is going to die. Canonical has to find a replacement WM for Unity or shove up the development of compiz to someone else. Wayland may replace X11 (and I hope it will be good once it do.) Shit happens as usual. (Even good shit.)Can't come up with a title so I'll just say derp.3 months ago in Personal More Like This
I'm thinking about abandoning Metacity support for my themes too. My next theme that I've started working on is not going to have a Metacity theme as I see no point in supporting it when I'm not using it and when it's going to be abandoned. A quote from the musical artist Pogo: "I don't make art for you, I make art for myself."In the end I just get tired of trying to fix things for stuff that I'm not using. One reason why I scrapped Zukitwo-Dark. May not be a great excuse, but lack of standards makes certain things annoying to deal with. But sometimes I also want to fix bugs for things that I don't use, because it

Litestep on Windows 7 (UPDATED)UPDATE: this tutorial has gotten a lot of attention since i posted it 2 years ago.. so i decided to update the information, add information and even a nice video tutorial by ~andredk which is a little long, but very detailed. i updated the old journal and submitted a new one for good measureLitestep on Windows 7 (UPDATED)2 years ago in Personal More Like This

installing litestep is not a big deal. it has dependencies like any other application, and without them it will error. assuming your system meets all the requirements right now you can stop reading this and install litestep using the Omar Installer. (omar is the guy who created the installer) litestep was built using the x86 architecture so a x86 system is a prerequisite, however people have managed to install and use litestep on x64 systems.
