"Why has this unit displeased the creators? What did we do wrong?" Strapped down tightly to a chair you would see in a torture chamber, a geth sit their. The room was a dark and eerie place. There was only one light that seemed to be shineing brightly on the clueless geth. No other life forms but it had been laid inside this dark chamber. "Creator - Zar' Fannu? This unit requests assistance." A door slid open slowly on the right side of the geth's small room. A male quarian with long hair put up in a ponytail, strong arms and a firm posture stood before the geth. His face was smeared with hate and distrust, his bright, glowing eyes glared at the Ai as he paced back and forth staring at the geth. "Creator - Gel' Narah, help us." "I'm sorry, geth, but you and your fellows have shown ...unpresidented signs of self awarness. You all must be terminated for the sak

Shepard sighed, slowly turning from the reaper to face her crew. Of course, the Reapers wouldn't understand, nor even try to see their point of view. It was all too clear to her now. Tali'zorah and Cyn'thea both jogged up to Shepard's side, smiling at her. Legion stood from afar, watching them.
"Shepard! That was amazing...the way you stood up to that reaper." Cyn'thea said as she gave her Commander a friendly hug.
"They'll never understand. I'd get more progress with the Council or a brick wall at this point." She replied, returning the hug and giving one to Tali as well before taking a step back.
"We can confirm that the geth are no longer being directed by the Old Machine." Legion said as he looked at his omni-tool, then towards the Commander. "We are free."
Shepard smiled softly at Legion, nodding before placing a finger towards her earpiece. It was Admiral Han'Gerrel from the Heavy Fleet. "You did it, Shepard! The geth fl
Two Turians and a KeeperGarrus and Chellick were busy reviewing footage at their desks into the late hours of the evening. They were working on a case together involving suspicious cargo that was being run through the Citadel. All ships docking were legitimate which meant that when they finally pinpointed the ship, either the entire crew was "dirty" or they had an extremely shady crew member that was very good at hiding his illegal activities. In any case, they had to pinpoint what ship, or ships, the cargo was coming from and this was proving to be quite the task. They reviewed hundreds of tapes from the course of a few months, watching every ship dock, watching every crate that exited, checking the docking records to make sure everything matched up. So far, they had turned up nothing. Two Turians and a Keeper2 years ago in Short Stories More Like This
"I can't look at any more footage," sighed Chellick. "It's late; let's just pick this back up tomorrow."

"I", Shepard thought, "hate sitting still". Especially when it was something that was being forced on her by outside circumstances. Yet, her she was, sitting cross legged on the floor of the apartment , back against the couch, with a baby sleeping sprawled across her legs. She sighed and looked down at her son. It really wasn't fair to blame her current mood on Aetius. Not like he was really forcing her to stay still. She could probably move him if she was careful; she'd done it before when he was napping and she needed to do something.
It was just that right now she didn't see the point of disturbing him even with all her restless energy. She really didn't have anything else to do. At least, nothing important

At some point she realized she was breathing.
Sensations came slowly after that. That muffled thudding...her heartbeat, footsteps, or guns in the distance? She tried to open her eyes, but the blackness was absolute. A finger twitched. Her lips - everything was numb - her lips parted and she tried to speak, but everything was muffled, she couldn't move, she couldn't move! She tried to yell and only managed to produce a choked whimper.
A sudden burst of noise and activity, a pinch on her arm, and everything spiraled back into oblivion.
There was a beeping. It was annoying. How long had it been going on?
She slowly pulled herself out of unconsciousness. It was a huge effort to open her eyes, almost an unbearable task to focus them. The stark white and bright light of the room made her headache -- because by god, she had a massive headache --- about ten times worse instantly. An involuntary moan escaped her, which then made her realize just how absolutely foul her mouth tasted. Where

Commander Shepard was used to long days. As she rubbed the back of her neck on her way toward the elevator she reflected that people seemed to think she was invulnerable. When you were the savior of the galaxy several times over, people tended to forget that you needed little things like food and rest. It was as if they expected you to be able to live on heroism alone.
At least she finally had some time to herself. After chasing a group of slavers down, coming back to find the Alliance brass was waiting to speak to her over the comm, and arguing with them for another hour, she was able to end her shift. She was going to go back to her cabin, finally get a hot shower, then fall into bed.

She was still quite young, gorgeous figure and a pretty face with facepainting that would make her interesting for the scum of the Earth. Nevertheless, Aria tapped her foot angrily because this Asari represented a problem.
"Where did you find her?" Aria asked coldly The Batarian straightened, proud of his catch but obviously clueless as to what he actually had acquired.
"In the Hades Gamma cluster. She was alone on a remote world. We'd though we'd offer her our help." The slavers laughed at their witless attempt at humour. Aria placer her hand on her forehead, pac

Even through the dizziness that threatened to topple me over in my seat, I could tell that last grenade had hit home. I hadn't heard the dreaded clink-clink until it was too late and Garrus was yelling my name, and then the world went black for a few seconds. By the time I staggered to my feet, EDI declared the area clear and was rerouting the cannons on her own. Relieved the mission was complete, I would've fallen back to the floor if Garrus hadn't caught me. The medi-gel was cool and comforting against my neck, but still this fuzzy feeling remained.
And that couldn't be good, considering the amount of worry in Garrus' eyes as he lifted and carried me to the shuttle.
Most importantly, I was tired. Weariness seeped into my bones, my body heavy and my eyelids heavier. I could rest on the way back to the Normandy, gather my strength as I closed my eyes-

"Javik, I'm going now."
Liara was dressed for a night out of the house. Her outfit was simple. It did not show excess skin, contrary to the popular style of the day, but the wine colored cloth fit snugly against her body. Javik stood defiantly in the middle of the room, his hand balled into a fist to keep it from reaching out and running along the curve of her hip.
He would treat this like any other battle. And he refused to show weakness.
"This is a pointless activity," he said firmly.
In his own cycle, people would back down when he used that voice. But Liara only fought back harder. She stood just out of his reach, placing her own hands on her hips. "Shepard and Tali will be here for only a few more days, and Tali needs to relax. This is her first night out without her family since the baby came." Her voice was calm and quiet, using the same tone she used when explaining something to their children.
Javik stole a quick glance behind him at the two girls playing happily tog

On her first night together with Garrus, Shepard had been mildly concerned about the talons that she knew turians possessed. She trusted Garrus with all of her heart and knew that he never intentionally harm her, but there was that instinctual distrust of sharp claws near her softer human flesh. Of course she had been thinking of entirely different things by the time that evening reached the stage where his gloves came off, and then she didn't' have the luxury to think about minor details until after they had blow the Collector base to bits.
Being under house arrest had given her more than enough time to think, and Garrus was one of the happy memories she had she to stave on the crushing boredom. One of the questions those memories brought up was if turian anatomy charts and Alliance descriptions of turian talons as 'vicious natural weapons' were overly exaggerated or if Garrus had blunted his just for her.

Garrus tapped a talon anxiously against the desk as he ran through the surveillance vid for a fifth time. His eyes scanned over the digital crowd, searching for his suspect, a Blue Suns weapon dealer who had been alluding C-Sec for the better part of a month now. The case had only been turned over to Garrus a few days prior, when a rumor surfaced that the merc might be dealing heavier weapons--namely a shipment of M-920 Cains.
Should that rumor be true, some lucky, rich sons-of-bitches would wield weaponry capable of decimating entire blocks at a time. Garrus didn't even want to think about the damage they could cause within the Citadel, in crowded areas.
The footage bled into Garrus' eyes. Each figure seemed to blend into the next until he could make out little more than a blob of movement. With a groan, he paused the vid, reclining back and rubbing the fatigue from his e

Post Mass Effect Technology Era and the Formation of Galactic Alliance
Stretching a time from late 2186 to 2250, the Great Migration was commonly recognized as the period of time when the starfleets came to aid Earth against the Reapers return to their homeworld by FTL or other conventional means of commuting. By Quarian help, some larger battle fleets were renovated into starships to cope with a sustainable residency. While most have left the Sol System, some choose to resettle themselves on Earth or closer clusters like Tuchanka to help the locals rebuild their homeworld. This caused a shift in galactic powers for a moment, until the Galactic Alliance was established.
The Galactic Alliance, established in year 2193, is an inter-stellar organization between the former Citadel Council, the Systems Alliance, and the Perseus Consortium. The three major players in the field combined their resources to host aiding programs and agencies

Not even touching the ground, she had dove from the skies, talons outstretched and gleaming, and whisked her victim into the air with her into the upper branches of a large tree nearby. She had no malicious feelings towards the elves living nearby, but the recent arrival of a small family of dragons had made hunting difficult for the aged wyvern. Physically, dragons were far stronger and could easily overpower a wyvern in combat without ever needing to resort to their famed fiery breath. Standing one's ground to defend their catch from one would almost certainly result in the death of the wyvern, or at least leaving it to limp away with grave injuries.
