EDIT: Thanks for the info on reindeer gender-antler technicalities. I did learn this in my teens, but I just kind of enjoy drawing the deer as white-tails like I did as a kid. I know it's incorrect, but the nostalgia factor is more fun for me. Merry Christmas fellow biology nerds!
When I was would little, my obsessive love for Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer would inspire me to draw Santa's eight reindeer to string together for Christmas decorations around the house. Even as a kid, I wanted some of the reindeer to be girls (it only seemed fair) and Dancer, Vixen and Cupid where always featured without antlers to show Santa didn't discriminate against the does!
So here's sweet-natured Cupid to wish you Happy Holidays! Have a wonderful day, everyone!
How to Successfully Finish a Comic or StoryThis issue has been going on a lot lately, especially when the comic that you loved the most from famous artist had to be cut, because of the artist's personal reasons? Well if you want to do a long comic/story these are the most things should be in your mind. How to Successfully Finish a Comic or Story3 years ago in Personal More Like This
WARNING: THESE ARE FOR THE ONES THAT ARE CREATING A STORY (LITERATURE OR COMIC) THAT IS AT LEAST OVER 100 PAGES.
If you are doing a long comic, say over 400 pages, you should dedicate 70% of your DA drawings on it. Unless you are pretty sure that you will be one of the artist for SEGA or Archie, then you should.
A lot of people lost their motivation because they didn't have the time to do it as they are preoccupied by commissions and request.
Set a storyline. Some that I knew couldn't continue their comic because they don't know how to transition from one chapter/issue to another. By planning what are you going to explain/draw in each chapter you will have a scope of each chapter. As a resu
Lara's Adventure on QTE Island. For how many more years am I going to have to put up with new titles pretending that: a cutscene, which you have to watch again and again if you don't press a button at the right time, constitutes as "gameplay"?Lara's Adventure on QTE Island.2 years ago in Personal More Like This
It never has and never will.
It doesn't make a game more cinematic. It doesn't add a sense of thrill. It simply makes viewers (I can't call them "players", as that would imply they are actually permitted to DO something) dread cutscenes, because they have no idea if they're going to be allowed to enjoy them or if they're going to have to watch them 5 times in a row because they fail to hit the random sequence of buttons indicated on the screen.
A game is thrilling ONLY when the player uses the control scheme effectively within the game environment. If the game needs to take control away from the player and lead them by the nose through a cutscene, it's been lazily constructed and as a result: isn't fun.
If you are a games designer and you have proposed a Quick Time
Choose your RivalHi there Ryceballs it is I Ry-Spirit of the East. Here to talk about something that I have never mentioned much before.. And that is the topic of 'Rivals'.Choose your Rival2 years ago in Personal More Like This
Ash had Gary Oak, Goku had Vegeta, Naruto had Sasuke. Do you believe that having a rival can help you improve in whatever you do? I do. I remember back in High School I got lots of praises from my classmates for being the greatest at drawing, I liked to draw in my diaries and homeworks alot Which explains why my marks were soooo FREAKIN TERRIBLE!. And there was a friend (I used the term very loosely) who would always try to find ways to make people feel like crap, this time it was no exception, he figured out what I liked and stabbed that piece of pure innocent heart with a sharp poisonous knife, he told me my drawings is poo compared to this other guy our year, I have never seen that guy's artworks before so my friend went as far as to sneak into the library storage room where everyone left their bags at, opened up the guy's bag an

we are all different, we all have our own little fetishes, and mine being bdsm, who the fuck am i to judge.

Nintendo announces Pokemon RainbowNintendo just announced the third Pokemon Black and White game, its gonna be called... POKEMON RAINBOW! YEAH BOI!! I thought they ran out of colors for the Pokemon games but the smart people at Nintendo got some creative guys together and did an awesome looking cover for the game. Rumours has it that Rainbow will be the most open minded game up to date, you know how Pokemon Black and White was all about right and wrong, good and evil, yin and yang, Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones that kind thing? Well Pokemin Rainbow totally gets rid of that, everyone is treated equally and happiness is the only thing that matters. Recreational drugs and casual sex is also highly encouraged, you can dress up your Pokemon however way you want without anyone judging you (As you can clearly see in the cover). Unfortunately this can be quite controversial to the general public... but hey I appreciate Pokemon thinking ahead and having a modern mindset. I also heard that in the beginning of the game when theNintendo announces Pokemon Rainbow3 years ago in Personal More Like This

Un-ghosted Lucien Lachance in Skyrim ScreenshotsA while back I encountered the bug where the Spectral Assassin is missing the ghost effect when you summon him. I didn't spend too much time trying to capture cool poses or get great shots. But maybe later when I'm feeling more creative I can take some nicer screenshots. Anyway, click on them to get the full size.
Just for fun, I tried removing Lucien's hood using the console.

I was merrily replaying Modern Warfare 3 and was on the final mission when the screen went funky. Now, this happened 3 or 4 years ago, so I knew what was going to happen; I turned the console off in the hope that a reset would solve the funky-screen issue, but rather than a clear image - I get no image at all.
It's a known problem, especially with the first generation of 360 machines and as mine is a "Launch Team" version (If you worked for M$ at the time, they gave you a special edition one with green plating) it certainly falls into that category.
Something to do with the cheap, shoddy soldering used by M$.
Looks like I'll be better off just replacing it with one of the new streamline models, which is a shame, because last time I got my current one repaired I also had it pimped out with these awesome green internal running lights that made it look nuclear-powered or something
(What? It was a fun little extra!)

Don't let the low level graphics fool you. This is a seriously unique game and the retro feel and chiptune music all work together beautifully. It's kinda like crossing the level difficult insanity of Battle Kid with the exploration style gameplay of Metroid infused with the "no worries try again" aesthetic of Bit Trip Runner.
It's very difficult to describe this game but I'm gonna try anyway. The entire thing is built around the core mechanic of flipping gravity up and down. Your character cannot jump at all. The only way to move around is to flip gravity causing you to fall up or down. The level layouts are phenomenal at keeping you from getting too stuck or worried you might hit something bad, and there are plenty of checkpoints to ensure that you never have to

Some Thoughts about Happiness. Some Thoughts about Happiness1 year ago in Personal More Like This
Hey everyone, Dea here.
Today I had a rather interesting train of thought which I would like to share with you.
I was asked a rather interesting question today by my mother that I never really paid much mind to but if you think about it, it is actually very interesting.
'What would make you happy?'
It is a question we hear a lot and ask ourselves very often, probably more than once a day even. But what is it that makes one self happy? It certainly isn't a 'thing' that can just suddenly make us happy. Even if we chose something as answer for this question, would it -really- make us happy once we received or achieved it? Well, it cetainly will for a few moments, minutes or hours... but I doubt there is something like an ultimate goal that will make you happy for the rest of your life.
Funny enough, studies have proven that people living in 3rd World Countries, (and let's face it, they deal with WAY worse stuff than us rich kids do with 'I can't reach my mobile but I'm too lazy to stand

Night Raiders - v1.0Hey everyone! I've made a survival minecraft world! It's called Night Raiders! The map was created and designed by me and Darcia, with help from Ashley Staggs.Night Raiders - v1.03 years ago in Personal More Like This
*Two team PVP survival map! Red vs Blue!
*6 players per team for a total of 12 possible combatants!
*Simple automatic player drop system makes the map easy for admins to setup.
*Two unique worlds built from the ground up!
*Both sides have ores and resources the other side needs!
*Lots of hidden pathways, secrets, and treasures sprinkled throughout both worlds!
*The only 2 doors connecting the worlds open and close depending on the time of day and weather conditions. During the day they're closed, but then at night they open up!
*Sneak into enemy territory and steal the precious resources you need to level up your weapons and armor!
*Defend your land from outsiders!
The map is free to download, but I would like to encourage people to visit the site via the following adf.ly http://adf.ly/DIR5n . I know everyone hates those links,

Updates as of DecemberIt's been months since the last time I made a journal of my updates.Updates as of December6 months ago in Personal More Like This
Not much happened, but the most notable one is the success of the animation I made:
It reached to many places of the internet: Smosh, io9, Dorkly, even Doug Walker of Nostalgia Critic shared it in his Facebook.
Thank you everyone for loving this video!
In response, I'm making another one! And from the deviations and tumbr posts that i've been making, I'm sure everyone had already guessed it:
It's "What if The Amazing World of Gumball was an Anime?"
Right now, it's around halfway done. But finance kept me slow from finishing this small animation.
Some people advised me to go for "that" as a solution.
After a lot of mental battle between my 'goody-two-shoes' me and my 'face-the-reality' me, I finally gave in and am going for "that".
"That", of course, is Patreon.
I'm still finalizing it as I write this journal.
But to be honest, I'm not really confident that mine will become a success like the other popular artists out

I'm usually not posting personal stuff on dA anymore (see my Twitter for daily life babble), but there's something major I want to share with all of you.
Those following me for a bit longer might still remember that I was working towards my doctorate during the recent 2-3 years. Well, I'm done! I achieved my Ph.D. with A-grades and was awarded with MAGNA CUM LAUDE (latin for 'with great praise').
That means I'm now officially a doctor (not in medicine, if you might wonder)! How amazing is that?
Thank you everyone who followed me during the years! We somehow made it there together - so please fell hugged! Thank you for your support!!

Each year in summer, just right at the beginning of the summer vacations, a person would come visiting some of the towns around Europe. Some say it was a kind hearted spirit and some said it's a polite witch, but she just called herself a wandering artist. She always showed up for few days here and there to just walk around, relax and paint few landscape/portrait paintings. She went by the name Juta and people didn't mind her appearance, even though they vaguely knew her background. But they had a reason to stay calm, as she had a habit to stop by to have a nice chat, help with some odd jobs, heal with few herb medicines and tell tales from around the world during bonfire nights. Nothing dangerous. The kiddies though loved her the most as she had always some candy to give to them, so they awaited her each year eagerly
