Bruce trained for 7 years (Alfred mentions his absence in Batman Begins) and he sulked for 8 years between Dark Knight and Dark Knight Rises. Between that, and including the short time in Dark Knight Rises in which he wore the cowl, Nolanverse Bruce was only Batman for about a year, tops (Joker's line "Let's rewind a year" tells us this).
One. F**king. Year.
"Caped Crusader" the Nolanverse Batman is not.
He is "Bat Temp".

I believe that Minecraft is the future of massive multiplayer games, and I'm surprised that none of the big developers/publishers have cottoned onto it yet.
They look at Minecraft and think its success is down to its business model, or to its blocky, retro charm.
It's down to the fact that you get out of it what you put into it.
With a MMORPG, there are pre-scripted quests. With Minecraft, you set the quests yourself or others.
User created content is the key. All you have to do is provide the players with the tools to build.
There are two types of gamer: wall builders and wall breakers.
Wall builders are the ones that spend an age in an RTS game getting their base just right. They play SimCity and act as Dungeon Master during an RPG.
Wall breakers are the type to follow the mission brief. They get set a quest and they follow it. They're the Call of Duty crowd and they're never more happy than when

Paranoia and a sense of impending doom.
The "party game" I just picked up should do the trick.
Each player gets a Nerf gun, the name of a target and the location in the house where they have to shoot them at some point over the course of the evening.
Nothing says "Christmas" like an assassination contract.
.....yes. I have been playing Hitman too long.

New deviantART Thumbnails
This feature will be rolled out to everyone over the next few days.
DeviantART's thumbnail images just got bigger and better! Starting today, we've increased the size of deviantART's thumbnails and, by popular demand from the community, we're also giving you a "Thumbnail Grid" mode.
Here's a run-down of what's changed:
We've made all thumbnails bigger!
Deviations display in tidier rows with no unnecessary cropping, allowing you to see the art as it's meant to be seen!
For literature thumbnails, the background has been lightened and

Okay so first off, Happy December! My fav month of the year, the cherry on top of 2012. Happy Holidays to all! Be sure to keep up with the Newgrounds Advent calender this month, particularly this next Wednesday, December 5th, when Kirbopher, Nylocke and Rockoon from TOME all celebrate their favorite Holidays!
Speakin' of Nylocke, there's a lot of important Nylocke-related topics to talk about! Considering how his color scheme looks like Christmas up and barfed all of him, it fits pretty well, so I AIN'T COMPLAININ'. First and most importantly, his fantastic voice performer, Martin Billany, as well as his lovely wife Marianne Miller, are gonna be doing a very special livestream "Card Games for Charity" on Satur
No Death Star for you.I didn't know this until now, but the White House is obliged to respond to to a petition with over 25,000 signatures. This meant they HAD to dignify the request of 30,000+ US citizens that the US construct a full sized, functional Death Star with an answer. No Death Star for you.2 years ago in Personal More Like This
I'm not quite sure what percentage of those 30,000+ citizens realise that using a planet-destroying laser to take out people on the planet on which you live is an ever-so-slightly flawed agenda.....

Yay for American Independence. No, really! An odd statement for a quasi-neo-imperialist to say, I know, but if the Colonials hadn't (justifiably) got shirty over lack of representation in Parliament, the British Empire would never have become the behemoth that it did.Yay for American Independence. No, really!2 years ago in Personal More Like This
Thanks to the rebellion/revolution, the British Government changed the way it conducted itself so as to ensure such an incident would never happen again.
Had they not, a revolution similar to that seen in France, 1789, would have very likely occurred on home turf.
The French leadership maintained their "all powerful" façade, and in assisting the American colonies, spent a fortune. This further angered their already irate people, who, in seeing that it could be done, decided to have a little revolution of their own.
So, with the economy booming thanks to renewed transatlantic trade between Fair Blighty and the newly formed United States and with Britain's arch enemy France focused on tearing itself apart, there was nothing to stop the Empire's expansion.

I hope everyone had a Happy Holiday and a great year. I think it turned out pretty well, all things considered! There's further heights I want to climb to in 2013, but I'm satisfied with everything I managed to do in the last twelve months. Hopefully you guys are too, and look forward to what else I've got in store!
Before we say Happy Birthday to me on the 31st and goodbye to December, I managed to put out a new TOME short called "Minigame Madness" which I'm quite proud of. It takes place between Episodes 05 and 06, but holds up pretty well on its own as a fun little venture. I wanted to do something centralized on Flamegirl, so Liz and I came up with a fun little side-story involving her and her friends, as well as a few clever or not-so-clever app games. We

But still I ain't gonna reveal any names just in case. OK So what is this Mario Brothers Event & my Lost of Hope in Humanity story? In the newspaper there was a little ad with a riddle that points to a location on a certain date, if you get to that location on that date at the right time and find the 'Golden Coin' you will get a New Super Mario Brothers Wii game for free or receive a $50 in cash, however only the first 50 people who turns up gets it. Pretty much its a publicity stunt to gain more attention to the release of the New Super Mario Brothers Wii. The
The Derpy Issue Part 2It's come to my attention that Hasbro has, indeed, changed Derpy. In the iTunes version of "the Last Roundup" where she finally talks and Rainbowdash says her name, Derpy no longer has "derpy" eyes (although they do seem to occasionally be crossed), has a different voice actress, and Rainbowdash doesn't say her name. If you want to see the clip you can see it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?featurelayer_embedded&v=X2CRjPO73Dg#!The Derpy Issue Part 23 years ago in Personal More Like This
Sadly I can't get behind the bronies on this one. You guys screwed it up for the rest of us and I have no sympathy for your plight. Hasbro is entirely justified in their position as a corporation to protect their properties from perceive negative perceptions, and that would never have happened if we as a community hadn't thrown such a tantrum over a non issue.
You see, a couple months ago a few fans saw something "suspicious" and made a big deal over it without doing any research. Soon, the entire internet was throwing a big crybaby hissy fit over exaggerat

dear dA: age is irrelevantthis recent deviantart poll "At what age does an artist have the most artistic freedom?" is a condescending and narrow-minded question.dear dA: age is irrelevant3 years ago in Personal More Like This
often i see people have opinions about age and how it relates to art. some say that they are too young or too old to do one thing or the other.
well, i have not been on this planet very long, i can't speak for everyone and everyone's circumstances are different. but i will say this.
you are alive. and since you are, there is nothing that can stop you from your freedom to express yourself through art or anything that you have a passion for - especially your age.
don't let anyone's preconceived notions about your social status stop you from doing something that is so much bigger.
a blank canvas doesn't care how old you are, where you came from or what inspires you. you will always be able to fill it with what inspires you no matter what.
MMD Rules Revised. Please ReadLately there's been confusion over the readme notes on models that come with both an English & Japanese version having different rules/conditions in them.MMD Rules Revised. Please Read3 years ago in Personal More Like This
You're probably thinking it's not fair that the Japanese version has more freedom with editing models than the English one. Then there's this assumption that Japanese modellers are racist. This is not the case. It is merely a misunderstanding and I'll explain it here.
When overseas users break the MMD rules it's hard for the Japanese modellers to handle it because there is a language barrier. It's very difficult for a modeller to talk to the culprit when they both come from a different culture. It's a huge burden for them to go through a language obstacle just to reason with someone who can't speak the same language as them, let alone try to resolve a situation where rules have been violated. On the other hand, when the culprit and modeller are both Japanese, it's easy to resolve because both people are from the same culture so there
Comics Are ArtComic-Con Journey to the Heart of The New Summer VacationComics Are Art3 years ago in DeviantArt Announcements More Like This
Americans have a long summer vacation tradition of visiting the foreign capitals of the world and being sure to spend at least one day in each nation’s most iconic art museum. In Paris, we visit the Louvre. In Madrid, the Prado. In Rome, the Borghese. We feel far more comfortable in identifying the different peoples of our planet through examples of their greatest art works than we do about identifying ourselves as being represented by any one iconic “American” art museum or artist. Maybe the country is just too big for one musuem and so it has always fallen to our pop arts to carry the true visual narrative of what’s going on in the hearts and minds of the masses.
Comic-Con has become the new arts and culture go-to in domestic summer vacation destin
