This journal exists because the other one's getting old and i needed something to keep this interesting. Also, the amateurish journal skin i created years ago annoys me and since i'm an absolute N00b when it comes to CSS i thought it would be best to finally remove it.
The last nights i was biking through our town to do nightshift (i love doing that. Not a single soul around and you realise how quiet even the civilised parts of the world can get) and while letting my thoughts flow i was grabbed by some intense nostalgia for some reason. I remembered my childhood especially and....how ridiculously naive i used to be back then. The way i saw the world, all the things i had to learn and understand first (the very anatomy of „sarcasm" for example).
I remembered some cases that appear especially wondrous to me nowadays when i think about it so i thought it would be funny if i share some of them.

Awful, because theoretically, there are so many themes and topics that i prepared (for such a long time!) and that i want to talk about but as always - time is and always was quite the luxury.About Lester (or: The WTF Les Advice Meme)9 months ago in Personal More Like This
Aynway, i'm tired of seeing the last journal entry, so it was time for something new.
We all (or the internet generation at least) know those advice memes. And even if you had never heard of them, you will most likely recognise them if you see one.
Long story short: I had fun in making some with (or rather, about) Lester, one of my best known canon characters. The idea behind it? A (humoristic) character study actually, derp. D8
Because if you can make fun of your character like this, debunking all his quirks, deficits and flaws, you will see how believable and real he actually is - or not. For example, are you unsure if you have created a Mary Sue? Try this, that'll show.
(Btw: "Brother" and "Morris" are referring to the same person; i did those between some weeks,

They need to be reminded that they are not mistakes but that they are a different and new path than the one taken previously.
Don’t let those who are lost lead your path for you. They will only you lead you wrongly and you will lose yourself along the way.
This is your life, live it based on every little success you earn and learn from every mistake you make.
Their mistakes are their own, and you are not a mistake. You are a successful example of what it means to be alive. There is no greater success than that.
This life is yours. Be something — be someone you’re proud of.
That's all I have to say.
If you take commissions for DA Points......please be cognizant of the value of points compared to real money. If you take commissions for DA Points...3 years ago in Personal More Like This
400 DA Points cost US$ 5 to buy.
That's 80 points per dollar.
This means that if you are offering an art commission for, say, $10, you should NOT be offering the same commission for 100 points. You should be charging at least 800 points.
If you are aware of the exchange rate and yet still undercharge for points when compared to real dollars, I suppose that's your prerogative as an artist. But you're really just giving others a way to take advantage of you by paying you in points instead of cash, even when they are fully capable of the latter.
Those looking to commission artists with points should, of course, be aware of the exchange rate, too. I have seen many people complain about artists asking for 300 points for their artwork... not realizing, of course, that it's only $3.75!
And, of course, the same applies when paying in different real currencies around the world. Make sure you check your exchange rates.

I joined back in June of 2004 (oddly enough) back on an account called ScarlingRagdoll666 (which is now inactive and more of a storage account).
The reason I joined was because a year before a friend from high school had told me about this place called 'deviant art'; a small website for artists to share their art. She knew I loved art and thought I should give it a shot.
I didn't have a computer at the time so I had to forego a membership until a year later when a friend of mine would let me use hers to check it occasionally. The first drawing I ever posted on here was this --
drawn in 2000 but posted on June 11, 2004 (the day I joined). I don't even remember drawing it but it was just one of those things I drew on a whi

What Not To Do
Have you ever been asked by someone randomly, "Can we be friends?" ? Or perhaps someone simply acts as if you are their best friend, even when you don't know them. They may comment to others talking about you a lot, or call you by a nickname that only your friends use, write journals about you, send tons of notes or comments to you acting as if you're already best buddies, "mention" you all the time, jump into your conversations with someone else.... if so, these people aren't taking friendship forming seriously, and need to take a step back and evaluate themselves and their approach.
Friendship is not automatically made by asking for it.

just a friendly reminder that just because art is in the public domain does not mean it loses copyright value
and no artists you do not need to pay to copyright your work it is an automatic thing.
you only relinquish copyright if you state so yourself that people can use your work without permission
so unless you do that
they are stealing.

How does dA's shipping work? Own experienceHello! How does dA's shipping work? Own experience3 years ago in Personal More Like This
I have been always interested about ways how dA ships the stuff you order.
Few times, I really wanted to buy something, but the shipping always made me nervous and I gave it up.
I never use e-shops to buy. And more over, this is foreign one, so I was afraid to pay some special taxes and so.
But this year, you, people, sent me so many many points (THANK YOU! ), that I really wanted to buy something. And as I love mugs, I wanted to buy my own edition of them. I waited until dA announced "free shipping" event, which was moreover combined with another sales.
I ordered NINE mugs, which costed only 54 USD, but it fact, I did not may anything because all of them were paid with points. That was amazing!
I was also always worried about the stuff I sell, being scared that people who order my stuff finaly get items of low quality. So I really wanted to check how dA's system works and if people can be really pleased by stuff I sell.
Well, here you can read about my own experience
Important update about widgets. From today I will no longer be using devaintARTs commission widgets, why? Because they will assume you are cashing out without you even doing so. Their system does not care about the truth, if you pay people with points, and they pay you later through a commission widget this will happen.Important update about widgets.8 months ago in Personal More Like This
I have been in talk with helpdesk about this since they thought I was cashing out points (giving others points for free so they can give them back to me through a widget to get money for it)
And all I got was The system is designed to automatically flag suspicious transactions transferring points in this manner is not allowed. It is one of the many reasons we do recommend that all commissions be made through the use of the widget and not simply at a personal level. I had evidence if needed and they did not even care.
They also refund the points used if this happens to you ( even if they told me they would I have not gotten any taken that I know of yet) Which means, i
Do YOU want to sell prints? One mistake you make.Hi people!Do YOU want to sell prints? One mistake you make.3 years ago in Personal More Like This
Today it is a short journal without photos, sorry.
I would like to give you one important advice, so I hope it can be still useful
I see many people try to sell prints here. And they are often sad they have not sold anything yet.
But at the same time I see they do the same mistake. So:
HOW PEOPLE TRY TO SELL THEIR WORK AS A PRINT?
1. you took a photo (drew a picture). It is nice, so you want to post it as a deviation.
2. you edit it. Making it sharper, more colourful, adding contrast, CHANGING a size to some 850x600px, for example.
3. you post it as a deviation.
4. you look at your deviation and think "hm, it looks pretty cool! Maybe somebody can buy it. I will allow it as a print."
5. you click at "submit as a print" and in "print submission" option you just scroll down and click at "SUBMIT AS A PRINT".
6. now deviation in your gallery has that cool "buy this print" green button and you are excited about somebody buying it.
7. you are disappointed that nobody bought it.
Deviants who offer Points commissionsThis journal was first posted in 2012 and although it has been updated various times since then, I'm no longer updating it or adding anyone new to it as of January 2014.Deviants who offer Points commissions3 years ago in Deviant Events More Like This
Lots of artists on dA do Points Commissions, also known as PCs, which involve creating art or design for other people on request in return for Points. Here are just a few of them...
If you're looking for a specific type of commission, simply use Ctrl+F, type in what you want (literature, drawing, polymer clay, digital, animation, colouring, icons, logos, design, tutorials, stamps, emotes, vector, 3D, pixel dolls, photography, photomanipulation, space art, terragen, digital art, journal skins, journal scripts, wallpapers, comics, fractals, journal css, gallery css, cosmetic application, craft) and your browser will do the hard work for you!

My fear of catsI already talked a bit about it over at my twitter, but I want to elaborate a bit because it's something a lot of people don't seem to understand. My fear of cats8 months ago in Personal More Like This
I've developed a fear of cats. It's not a phobia because I can function perfectly normally in a room with a cat. It's presence doesn't bother me one bit. I'll even pet it, but I don't particularly enjoy touching it and if it tries to stand on my lap we're going to have a problem.
The thing is, it's the cat's claws I don't like. Even if a cat enjoys what you're doing to it, it'll bore it's claws into you out of pure bliss. Holding a cat usually involves pain too unless you face it away from you. I'm aware that not every moment with a cat is filled with pain, I've owned cats and lives with one at the moment after all (though it's not mine) and we get along just fine, but I've got more scars from cats than anything else (including the one I live with) and none of those cats were angry with me. They were just doing cat stuff.

The most I can do it, is red-line anatomy and give you critiques, On what I personally think is right. You might have a different view since art is what you make of it, we are all open to our own interpretation but no one is 100% right.
If you really want to become a good artist, you need passion to do so, a drive to become better, study hard and hone your skills, if you don't have that, then you can never become better.
No fancy tablet, program, or expensive equipment can make you a better artist, it can help it look a little nicer yes, but the skills to make it, is all on your trail and error from experience.
IF you really want to learn how to draw, get inspired forget about fail, just enjoy it have fun with your art, Art shouldn't be work to you, it should be pure entertainment.
if your not enjoying it, maybe art isn't your t
5 Years of Random Doom2012 is my own 5 year anniversary here in deviantart which was awesome. Naturally, this also means my pokemon series, Random Doom, also turned 5 years old. Man, time sure flies. During these five years... Lots have happened and I suppose I'd love to say some things that have been in my mind a long time. So, I'll be rambling about RD, myself and other stuff related to it... I dunno how long.5 Years of Random Doom3 years ago in Personal More Like This
Like I mentioned in my 5 year anniversary picture... I never expected RD to get this popular. It truly started as a silly comic about pokemon I planned to train in my pearl game. I was so excited about diamond and pearl that I planned out my teams way before the games even came out. I loved drawing them and I started to develop them and give them personalities and names. I suppose I did this to make waiting easier. Hehe, it is quite funny that once I finally got the game, I didn't even use anyone from my RD cast until I beat the game and I was able to start proper EV training. Yep, that serious I wa
A movie for all How to Train Your Dragon fans.Back in 2010, the same year that Dragon was released, I stumbled upon an animated film that was released in 2005. I found it by complete accident, but it instantly became one of my top favorite films, ever. To this day, it is basically unknown to everyone in the US, even to the most die hard Anime fans.A movie for all How to Train Your Dragon fans.2 years ago in Personal More Like This
Yes, the movie is an anime, but trust me, this isn't your typical anime. If the characters spoke english, you'd think it was made by Disney.
The movie is titled, Arashi no Yoru ni, or in english, One Stormy Night. Links to watch it are at the bottom, no need to search for it yourself and spoil things. The less you know, the better, just keep reading
I'll give you a brief summary, but don't worry, I wouldn't think of spoiling anything from this incredible movie.
It's about a young goat, and a wolf. They are sworn enemies by nature. A big storm rolls in, and both the goat and wolf seek shelter in an old barn. Because they can't see or smell each other, they think they are both the same
Accident in ZOO Prague and stupid peopleHiAccident in ZOO Prague and stupid people3 years ago in Personal More Like This
the place where I spend my vaccation has been always great and now it is perfect, because now it offers the last thing which was missing here: WIFI so I can be online, yay!
Thanks to this, I could read the newest info and I was shocked.
ZOO Prague is one of the most respected ZOOs in the world and it is also one of the most beautiful ones.
It is both animal and visitor friendly, as animals have huge modern and very natural enclosures and people are allowed to come close to them having no problems to take photos.
ZOO very succesfully breeds many endangered species, including many sorts of animals which are critically endangered and no other ZOOs are able to breed them or to even keep them. Prague is well-known for saving Przewalsky horse, who used to be extinct in the wild and thanks to the ZOOs, especially Prague, this species is comming back to the wild (do you hear that, stupid anti-ZOO activists?).
But the main attraction of ZOO Prague is a group of lowland gorillas.
Rat Anatomy Compilation.Rats are very fascinating little creatures. They have small hands like humans, minus the thumbs. They are intelligent and social, and each rat has a unique personality. They can also easily stand on their hind legs, making them an easy transition to an anthropomorphic form for stories and art.Rat Anatomy Compilation.3 years ago in Personal More Like This
Unfortunately, though, they are damn difficult to draw, and there are precious few resources for those wishing to delve into their anatomical structure (certainly me included). So I will be collecting references, both photos and drawings, that I think might be helpful to someone looking to draw my charming friend Rattus norvegicus (and perhaps some of his closest family members). I will probably add to this from time to time as I find new resources, so please feel free to suggest things that you think might be useful!

In case you didn't know...I was really happy to see people discussing and helping each other understand SOPA and PIPA in the journal comments yesterday. I noticed some comments that asked the same things so here's some quick information:In case you didn't know...3 years ago in Personal More Like This
If you don't know what SOPA does, dA has actually provided a great journal explaining the bill and the consequences http://hq.deviantart.com/journal/Join-a-SOPA-and-PIPA-debate-280023798?utm_source=deviantart&utm_medium=header&utm_campaignebateSOPA_011712 and this website has a lot of information on how to protest against it http://americancensorship.org/ The fight is not over yet!
No, my journal and icon wasn't really censored. It's to show what would happen if the bill became law.
This one is a bit annoying. Quite a few people were saying "People, stop jumping on bandwagons to be cool!" Or "Why is everyone talking about it now instead of when it first came out? You only care because it's a trend now? I new about it way back in 2011." Um, excuse me, but please don't live in

Shaving Faux fur:
For Faux fur plushie makers, You should invest in a WAHl Kennel Pro, I bought two Andis clippers, both gave out after trimming faux fur for a few min. Also Make sure to keep your Clippers oiled and cleaned after using.
I recommend trim the Faux fur first before cutting out the pattern, so if you do cut too deep you can always make a new piece to replace it before sewing your plush together. Make sure to trim with the fur pile not against it, or you will just cut all the fur off, you want to trim it not make it bald.
Keep in mind being a plush artist gets very pricey, with Faux fur some fur colors are rare and you will some

DA still seems to act weirdly. I do not know what happens, but when I look at Wild animals category, all seems to be somehow mixed and confused. Some photo is once among the most popular of the category and hour later, it is among the photos with no faves. There are photos with like 60 faves on FP, while photos with hundreds of faves do not make FP at all. although they lead their category.
Well, I am a FP seeker and I am not ashamed to admit it - because although I love every comment and fav of my already existing watchers (thank you, people), FP meens meeting new people and facing new funny situations. So right now, posting new photos is not such a pleasure for me. I hope it will be fixed soon - well, at least I hope it is only another glitch, not a new dA's style
And I need to make new skin for my journal - this one is definitely very old-fashioned and has nothing to do with stuff I post

Can someone explain "renders" to me?I've been bumping into this more an more so I decided to share my RAEG.Can someone explain "renders" to me?3 years ago in Personal More Like This
So there is this group of people on dA who take some already existing art and cut out the backgrounds. That's all. They find some artwork, usually anime fanart, cut the background out, add their own watermark and BAM post it to their galleries as a free to use stocks without the permission of the original authors.
What's most infuriating there is almost always a disclaimer such as this one :
Oi, dumbfucks! Yes I'm talking to you. Why should anyone credit you for something that you did not create. You've contributed nothing. You've cut the background out, something that in most cases, can be done basically automatically by a computer program with a little to no human assistance.
The whole dA's category for stock renders is flooded with this shit --> http://browse.deviantart.com/resources/stockart/3drenders/
I'm sorry but I was under the impression that a render is a 2d image generated from a 3d
