Copic Markers and Pony colorsI get a LOT of questions regarding what colors I use where when it comes to the ponies, and I keep saying I'm gonna make a little guide. Well, let's give it a shot.Copic Markers and Pony colors2 years ago in Personal More Like This
For the majority of my covers, I use Copic markers to color. Copics are light-fast, alcohol markers... not unlike a classic school marker, but higher quality. I prefer Copic over other brands primarily for a few reasons: Variable tips (markers, fine, brush, etc), better blending, and they can be refilled! This is the BIG selling point to me... this means you can buy the marker once, and continue to refill. It also means you can custom blend colors should you desire. Copics also guarantee that if you buy Y00 yellow, and then buy another down the line, the colors will match. I've bought the same marker color from other brands and had them not match. I will use other brands here and there for very specific colors or effects, but Copic is 99% of my marker work.
So... when I do a cover or whatever, I do basic ink lines first wit
Baby wolves were born!!!Hi!Baby wolves were born!!!4 years ago in Personal More Like This
This is one year old journal, but I have great news - I just read that in local ZOO, baby arctic wolves were born again!
They still stay in a burrow, but as soon as they get older and leave the den, I will do my best to bring you some photos
Photos in this journal were taken in 2011
Here come the first photos of baby arctic wolves, who were born in ZOO Brno this year
The quality is very bad, they were some 20-30 metres from me, but I think you can still enjoy their cuteness

Different types of lighting.Hello there!Different types of lighting.3 years ago in Personal More Like This
I have the whim to write an article about the different kinds of lighting that I use in most of my work.
I hope this gives you some insight and inspiration about how to begin going about using the kinds of light that are easy to find.
Leave a comment if you have any questions.
Silhouette-causing (The light source can be anything. From sunlight or a bright sky to your table lamp. The principle is: The background is brighter than your subject thus causing your subject to fall into a silhouette appearance)
Outside, just before sunset or early morning ( This type of light is very bright and warmly colored and shines from a low angle and the sky is typically very blue)

Twenty YearsTime is weird. It feels like forever ago that I came to Bristol, like yesterday that I met Alexx, like last week that I started my second year, and like a year since I finished my second year film. All of that is completely in the wrong order. What the hell, brain?Twenty Years10 months ago in Personal More Like This
Anyway, regardless of how fucky the way we experience of time is, the reality is that I'm now 20! Some of you noticed - thanks to all the people who left birthday messages! Seriously, there's like 40 of them, it's crazy! I never really thought I'd get this far and already have someone call me their "idol", like that really kinda nuts! I'm honoured in any case, but still! It's been great fun this past year putting out comics and seeing so many people really loving them, and I'm hoping I can keep putting my comics in front of people that'll love them.
They may have to take a back seat, however, as I do really have to knuckle down and get on with stuff that I can use as portfolio fodder to get myself employed once I gr

Double-M Double-S time!Hey everybody! I just paid my rent, fixed my brakes, and did my taxes. Coincidentally, I think it's time to open some commissions! Here's the drill:Double-M Double-S time!2 years ago in Personal More Like This
Comics are hand-drawn on 8.5" x 11" paper.
b/w (pencil & ink) page: $30
color (traditional or digital) page: $60
Please keep the approximate panel count down to six per page. And if you supply dialogue, keep in mind that I may change it slightly to fit the artwork. Also, keep it simple as far as characters go. 2-3 characters works best for this.
2. Thrandrall (more of a series of pin-ups, but I'm putting it here in terms of workload)
Pin-ups are hand-drawn on 11" x 14" watercolor paper, and I'll more than likely do watercolors for all pin-ups.
b/w (pencil & ink): $30
color (traditional or digital): $50
Pin-ups are single character. If there's a duo or something you absolutely need, we'll work something out rate-wise.

Commissions! So, um, I decided to try my hand at the whole commissions thing that's all the rage with the kids these days.Commissions!1 year ago in Personal More Like This
-$4 for a character sketch
-$8 for a digitally inked character
-$12 for a digitally inked character with flat colour
-$16 for a digitally inked, coloured, and shaded character
Any extra characters in the picture will cost $4 per additional character.
If you would like a coloured background for a picture with flat colour or shaded colour it will cost an additional $2, otherwise it will just have a transparent background.
I'm fine with drawing just about any character, although there are a couple of things that I won't draw.
Things I won't draw:
Tip for Today: When to give up?Never give up just because you don't think you're good enough. We've all had our doubts in life. Successful people do not give up easily. We must prepare and prepare again, try your very hardest and then about 50% more that you didn't know you had consistently, then keep going twice as long as you ever thought you would or could. Look for more knowledge and try again.Tip for Today: When to give up?3 years ago in Personal More Like This
Favorite this if you're with me! Have an awesome Friday.
Sending positive vibes to you all.
Tip of the Day: the StruggleLearn to enjoy the struggle. Our most memorable goals we achieve in our lives are always extra special because of the many hardships we had to endure before succeeding. Those memories will be some of your fondest when you're successful. So take sometime to live in the moment and enjoy the struggle before achieving bigger and better things.Tip of the Day: the Struggle3 years ago in Personal More Like This

Apophysis 7X 15C - Installer available nowI have made an installer for Apophysis 7X 15C available at xyrus-worx.orgApophysis 7X 15C - Installer available now3 years ago in Personal More Like This
Please be aware that this installer is for Microsoft Windows only. It comes in two versions: for the 32 bit and the 64 bit version of Apophysis 7X 15C. The two versions can be installed side-by-side. Even in a single folder (but be careful - you might not want to uninstall the 32 bit version if you have the 64 bit version in the same folder so I recommend keeping the folders separate)
Unlike for the ZIP-package, 32- and 64 bit version do not come in a single file!
Currently, the german, italian and chinese language packs are shipped with the installer. The other language packs are outdated and for the vanilla version 7x15 only.
The 32 bit-installer offers you to install a collection of DC-plugins as well as two sample scripts. Please mind that upon uninstallation, these plugin .DLL-files will be removed even if they were there before. This also app

Tip of the Day: Doubters and HatersBefore you start off your career (or perhaps you just started your career) there tends to be more doubters and haters around you.Tip of the Day: Doubters and Haters3 years ago in Personal More Like This
Most doubters and haters lurk at the bottom because they're too fearful or ignorant to try.
Sometimes many of our biggest doubters aren't bottom lurkers but our relatives or friends. Most of the time they mean well but they are not YOU. They don't know what you are capable of.
For many people, you are your worst hater and doubter. The only way you can find what you're capable of is by trying your absolute hardest. True failure comes from not trying!

my legs being stroked, kissing, generic stuff like that.

No one, I just wish I was a better version of myself.

In a different country, namely outside of Europe with enough money to explore it properly. (Lets say Japan, South Korea, Canada)

I live in Salem, Massachusetts. Home of the infamous with trials and setting of the next Rob Zombie movie. A mere seventeen miles from here is Boston, which in a week's time has seen a bombing that has taken lives and limbs from people trying to enjoy a marathon on a warm spring day, a series of shootings (with even more bombs and injuries and fatalities), a region-wide lockdown, and a manhunt that is going on as I type this journal entry. And while it sounds crass to even bring it up in light of these events, this was supposed to be the weekend of the Boston Comic Con, an event that artists and fans alike look forward to all year. Due to all the madness of the past week, it has been postponed. It will happen at some point this year, so it's not like I'm sitting here feelin
