Love of wolves (mating season) - PHOTOSHelloLove of wolves (mating season) - PHOTOS3 years ago in Personal More Like This
First of all, kiriban (766 666) is VERY close!
At second, Brno's females, Alex and Clair, are in heat now. I went to the ZOO to take some photos - because of mating season, wolves were very excited and active. I had a great chance to watch their fantastic and natural behavior, which included gentle touches, aggresivity (not between alphas and beta, but younger wolves were somehow excited) and mating itself. It was just incredible to observe so intimate moments of the lives of wolves. Thanks to winter, I was totally alone with them - only me and wolves. I would like to share some shots I took - sorry for lower quality, the weather was cloudy and as you can imagine, wolves were moving a lot. Although I took some photos of mating itself, I do not want to post such shots. Not to offend some of my watchers (mating and also eating are absolutely natural for animals ) but to somehow respect privacy of the wolves
Thank you for every it would help me to share this
We Are One“ The Universe speaks in many languages, but only one voice. The language is not Narn, or Human, or Centauri, or Gaim or Minbari. It speaks in the language of hope; It speaks in the language of trust; It speaks in the language of strength, and the language of compassion. It is the language of the heart and the language of the soul. But always, it is the same voice. It is the voice of our ancestors, speaking through us, And the voice of our inheritors, waiting to be born. It is the small, still voice that says: We are one. No matter the blood; No matter the skin; No matter the world; No matter the star; We are one. No matter the pain; No matter the darkness; No matter the loss; No matter the fear; We are one. Here, gathered together in common cause. we agree to recognise this singular truth, and this singular rule: That we must be kind to one another, because each voice enriches us and ennobles us, and each voice lost diminishes us. What's Wrong With Praise? So this is another one of those artistic taboos we're never suppose to talk about, apparently. The idea of giving back positive feedback to an artist. It's seen as "coddling" as "babying" as "inflating the ego" and has such intense negative associations. It seems to be generally accepted that the only way to critique someone's work is to point out ONLY the negative parts. Any attempt to point out anything positive or something you liked about the work is seen as being unhelpful towards the artist's growth. What's Wrong With Praise?1 year ago in Personal More Like This
And frankly I think that's a bunch of hogwash.
Speaking from my own experience, I rarely ever get anything positive said about my work in a constructive way. I might get a lot of "good jobs" or people talking happily about my comics because they made them laugh, but I rarely if ever get any comments that go into detail explaining WHY I did something right. On the flip side, the amount of negative criticism and nitpicking is almost hilariously rampant, not just on my artwork but on th

There has been a record number of submissions to the Infrared Showcase Gallery this month - 228!! A steady number of 35 entries came into the Exposure Technique Gallery. Many Thanks to All members for their submissions - clearly extra-visible imaging is popular. The downside of all these submissions is that creating this selection has been difficult given the general quality of the work. Any help would be very much appreciated.

I'm just writing to ask if you could leave a review about the app and the story. We would really like to boost up the reviews and ratings and it'll all help in the long run. I'd be so appreciative if you could help. Thank you!
Using Colloquialisms: Are you down with it? Colloqualism: You down with it?Using Colloquialisms: Are you down with it?11 months ago in Deviant Events More Like This
A word or phrase that is not formal or literary and is used in ordinary or familiar conversation. synonyms: slang, idioms, patois, dialect.
Examples: whatcha, gotta, face on, ovver.
I’m sure you’ve had a good telling off by your teachers for using colloquial language inappropriately in your writing. I’ve had essays returned with the word “too informal” scrawled along the margin or a big red exclamation mark next to a certain word, who hasn’t? What just me? Oh right… my bad!
So WHY would we use colloquial language in our writing, after years of tackling the angry red pen?
I know we’re not supposed to judge a book by its over – or a person by their accent – but it happens. You can tell us a lot about a character by the kind of language they use. Are they all gangsta, dropping hooded verbs
5 Pieces of Critique You Should Always Disregard1. "I have a problem with your premise." This is the red flag to end all red flags. I don't care how flimsy the premise is. Every idea has the potential to be a good story. Execution is something else entirely, but if somebody doesn't like your idea: don't listen to them. What they're basically saying is "I am not an Ideal Reader, therefore not your target audience, therefore I am not the right person to critiquing your work." I hate, hate, hate people who think you should be writing for broader audiences than your story is capable of reaching. If you're writing romance, you're writing romance for romance readers. You're not trying to reach hard science fiction readers. Very few people even know what makes a breakout mainstream novel that has high market appeal. If they did, every single book ever written would be Harry Potter. It just doesn't happen. And for somebody to ask you to make that happen is ridiculous and unfair. For the most part, writers are writ5 Pieces of Critique You Should Always Disregard2 years ago in Personal More Like This

5 Ruts You'd Better Not Fall Into As A Writer1. Seeking validation on the outside and getting shocked when you get critique. Validation comes from within, folks. Hard life lesson, but there you are. First of all, every artist of any kind has to learn to tell themselves they've done good work even in the face of their detractors. (One just hopes they balance it out with taking valid critique into consideration so they improve.) If you can't, you're not going to accomplish much. Second, I'm not saying that encouragement and fans and book deals aren't very nice things, but to the creative process they can be massive distractions. I read recently that a core of stillness is necessary to the creative process, and the more distracted I get, the more I understand it. I have seen entirely too many writers (and by this I mean full-grown adults who should be emotionally mature and everything) seek validation in a desperate and pathetic way, and get outraged when — gasp — someone tells them their writing could improve. The Assumptions of TheftOne of the biggest issues facing creative minds in the age of the internet is that of theftof art, of ideas, of design work, even of code. The Assumptions of Theft3 years ago in Personal More Like This
When we creative types come upon an instance where our work or the work of friends has been repurposed/stolen/ripped, we naturally are upset. We rally our fellow artists to build an army of good against those who would steal that which we painstakingly created from scratch. We send emails, tweets, facebook posts, blog posts, journal posts, and even send snail mail in an attempt to discourage the thieves. We will insult them, threaten them with lawsuits, and make their lives so difficult that they will naturally have no choice but to take down the stolen work.
I have also had my work stolen in many ways. Logos I have created have appeared on websites where the thieves are attempting to actually re-sell the work, artwork I've made has appeared on other websites as both decoration and downloadable/purchasable products, and in one instance some of

Community Christmas Story It was the night before Christmas1 and rather than everything being quiet, it was loud. Too loud, for the children wouldn't stop screaming as they ran around the Christmas Tree.Community Christmas Story 1 year ago in Deviant Events More Like This
"Where's my present? I want to open it now!" Little Tim screamed and he danced extravagantly around the room. It was December the 24th, Christmas Eve.2
"No, you little brat. Wait until tomorrow. That's only one more day, if you're wondering," Big Mary spat at her little brother. Which, of course, led to a giant sibling war as each child picked a side between Big Mary and Little Tim.
Oh. It was on .
Children delightedly picked up whatever they could grab their little grubby hands on (which of course, were mostly presents) and began to chuck them at each other. And the chaos only ensued further when the adults frantically tried to stop the fray.3
"Now look what you've done," said Mother, eyebrows strung together in the disapproving expression that she seemed far too fond of. She h

Disney vs Lucas ArtsIf ever you bring up Disney in a conversation, people immediately recite tired old issues with the company that haven't been true for a long time. For example, complaining about the excess of half-assed sequels. That was part of Michael Eisner's regime. When he left the studio the quality Disney was producing suddenly skyrocketed considerably. Likewise the excessive merchandising and branding of Disney related products has also ceased to be as all-consuming now that Eisner is gone. In fact, a lot of the main issues people had with Disney during the 90's and early 2000's was a result of Eisner.Disney vs Lucas Arts2 years ago in Personal More Like This
Since Eisner left, the Disney studio has done a REMARKABLE job in clearing their name of many of the atrocities they had committed during his regime. They promptly turned the animation department around and have even begun doing 2-D animated films again after Eisner said "no." Granted, at the moment 2-D is still in hiatus, but the situation isn't as dire as it use to be and there's still promise
