Guided Meditation -
Shepard and Thane
The captain's quarters are far off from the engineering deck, but I can still hear the hum of the engines if I shut the music off and listen to the quiet. Most nights, it's enough to get me to sleep.
I'll lay back and watch the stars crawl by through the skylight, or watch the fish flit around in their tanks. Slowly, it becomes harder and harder to keep my eyes open. I'll roll over so the glow of the fish tank doesn't penetrate the darkness behind my closed eyes as I drift off to sleep.
The darkness is overwhelming. If I squint really, really hard I can just barely make out the pinpricks of distant stars. But it's so hard to keep my eyes open. I'm cold. Freezing cold, so cold I feel like my bones will implode and my skin will tear as it shrivels and tightens and I open my mouth to scream.
I can't. I open my mouth, try to

The cool rush of water over her sensitive skin woke her, eyes of darkest chocolate opening to gaze at the flickering surface above.
She sat on the gritty ocean floor, pale hands sifting through sand as she examined her surroundings.
It was dark and different, this new life she'd been born into. There was no fear, only curiosity. She did not feel alone in this darkness, there was a soothing presence that wrapped around her, embraced her, and completed her in ways no words could ever hope to describe.
Crimson ribbons floated about her shoulders, her red hair flowing with the currents of the water as she moved to stand.
Gone were her battle scars, gone were the marks of the harsh life she had lived. She was born anew, fresh and young and oh so sweet.
She moved through the water, drifting with the currents as she remembered. Memories flowed from her fingers as faces appeared and she smiled, remembering them all.
She tried to remember what had brought her here, it was important a cause
To All Things, An EndShepard looked out the large open shutter on the Normandy as Joker glided through space. She couldn't believe it was finally over. They had destroyed the Reapers. The casualties had been horrific. She had lost countless friends and colleagues, and entire races had been decimated. The rebuilding would take years. She took a deep breath to steady herself. She had never before faced such insurmountable odds, but she had done it. They had done it, together as a team. She allowed herself a little smile as she stared out the window. To All Things, An End3 years ago in Sci-Fi More Like This
She jumped a little when she felt an arm slide around her waist and a chin come to rest on her shoulder. She pressed back into him to rest against his chest.
"I was looking for you, Siha," Thane said in that sexy, deep baritone voice.

"That's easy for you to say, party boy. I've been a little busy fighting the galaxy's deadliest enemies. There's not a lot of time to dance when you're zooming around space. Not much shore leave. And anyway, dancing isn't important. I can shoot the head off a Geth from 200 yards away. So what if I don't have any rhythm?" He laughed and rose from the chair where he had been watching her.
"Everyone knows what you can do with a gun, Lola. And that's all well and good. But you need to relax, belleza. You can't run around killing things all the time. Sometimes a person has to blow off some steam, or just forget about the chaos for a while. Besides, you're the one who asked me to teach you to dance, remember?" She sighed and nodded her head.
"You're right. Sorry. It's just not something I've ever had the need to do before. But the crew dese

For three days he'd hardly slept. For three days he'd paced the lobby of Huerta Memorial. For three days his dark, brooding face had made every other visitor (and most of the nurses) steer well clear of him. For three days he'd haunted the space outside her room, staring through the glass door until he was forced to leave. For three days he'd begged to be let in to see her. For three days he'd been denied, turned away, and brushed off. On the fourth day, Admiral Hackett arrived and ordered him to vacate the premises, promising he would get a call when the situation changed. On the fourth day, he begrudgingly left the hospital and returned to his room on the Citadel. On the fourth day, he collapsed on his bed and slept for two. On the seventh day, he awoke from a nightmare, watching her blown back by the Reaper's powerful beam and not get up again.
Nine days ago they had found Shepard's body, barely breathing, barely alive. Nine da

When they finally meet again after so long, the whole world seems to sigh with gratitude.
There isn't much to say, and even if there were, the right words do not exist. They hold each other and the chaos around them drifts away like smoke on the wind. For a moment, they forget about his illness, about the war. A shroud of hope settles around them. Everything is going to be okay.
In the depths of her mind she knows the sea will call him away far too soon. They have very little time left. But it all seems so distant when she crawls beneath the sheets with him. Their lips meet and she drinks him in. The memory of how he tastes will be as fleeting as this very moment, but why should that matter? Simple, irrefutable truths slip like sand through her fingers. They can change nothing. There isn't anything more to do except love and be loved.
And she loves him. She doesn't know why she's never told him, so she tells him now. The feeling is so true and powerful

This is my Shepard (Kara's) reply to Thane's letter sent to her after his death
(Which I cried so much for afterwards) Sorry if it's a little long...
I don't even know why I'm bothering writing this damned letter, closure maybe? No I could never have closure when it comes to us.
Garrus told me to write this, said that it may help me to move on or something stupid, I'll kick his turian ass later.
I know that you'll never read this letter but I guess there's a connection between us still, via me writing this, I still remember that moment when that son of a bitch stabbed you, I was so angry truthfully I still am. Garrus carved your name into the wall, a couple of places below Mordins, I wonder if he has collected any data from those sea shells yet..

Brina Shepard never knew how to react to Omega. She hated its filthiness, but a small part of her loved it. Made her feel like she was back in Earth's underground helping the Reds gain more territory in the slums, inch by bloody inch. It was the closest feeling to homesickness Shepard ever got, which probably made her a freak. As she browsed the seedy market she examined the poverty. Batarians and Vorcha scattered about, some lying in their own filth. She recalled Jacob making a remark of how he hated Omega leaving the bodies in the streets...but Shepard actually admired the place for it. Where other cities tried to cover up the darker sides of city life Omega was brutally honest which was probably one of the reasons why it was so disliked, you could comfortably walk the streets of Illium safe in your illusion that nothing was wrong in the world, but on Omega you had to face the fact that folks were starving and dying and there wasn't much you could do for them. The porch floorboards were warm beneath Shepard’s bare feet, absorbing the heat of the morning sun.
Their vacation plans take them to a beautiful resort world with especially private accommodations. There’s no one around for miles. Around their small oasis cabana, the desert sand stretches endlessly beneath a clear sky - a breathtaking and serene landscape.
Shepard stands on the deck, shaded by canvas stretched over sturdy wooden supports. The view from here is much better, she thinks, although the landscape is of little consequence. It’s a different view entirely that she’s admiring.
Stretched out on the pale yellow sand is Thane, slowly arcing from one fluid curve into another as he stretches before his morning routine. His nylon and leather ensemble is long forgotten and packed away in their room, and the only thing adorning his athletic body is a pair of tight black shorts.

The meeting with an Assassin
A poem dedicated to Thane Krios
You came through the ceiling
With a mission in mind,
An operation to kill
Both the wicked and the not-so-kind.
After you met me
And chose to follow,
We traveled the universe
Amongst dusk and hollow.
Focused on the quest
You'd win with ease,
Bearer of a deadly disease.
By seeing your face
Foes'd run from disaster;
Pity those who tried to escape
The Sniper Rifle master.
As time went by
Amity came to an end,
Please comrade understand
To me you're more than just a friend.
At the brink of saving the world
You left me in a haste,
Dearest love and companion
Don't let the sweet memories go to waste.
Now I'm alone after finished task
Looking sadly at your grave,
Missing you Thane Krios
The fearless and brave.

Groaning; she stretched, jumping slightly as her arms felt more than the smoothness of sheets.

"Rose petals Siha" Shepard smiled at Thane's voice, sitting up to find her bed was covered with them. The assassin was seated at the foot of the bed, smiling back.
"Aww .come here" She held out her arms. Thane stood and walked to her side of the bed, cradling her face as she pulled him down for a kiss. As he moved to pull away, he felt Shepard smile against his lips, before jerking him forward, causing him to fall into bed with her.

Promise: Chapter One-HeyGarrus was always a glass half empty kind of guy. Maybe that's why Melanie was so interesting to him in the first place. He'd never really been interested in humans. They were squishy and fragile and so very strange. That's all he'd ever seen in the odd little humans.
It didn't stop him from packing up his shit and moving to their Homeworld, though. A lot of different races moved to Earth. Mostly because they found humans interesting, of course.
Garrus' reasoning for leaving Palaven was much more selfish.
His father Aurik kept pushing for him to join C-Sec, and follow in his footsteps. Garrus had another idea. And drowning in rules and regulations didn't fit into the picture.
So he packed his things and caught the next ship to Earth. Nehara—his mother—was upset to say the least, but understood her son's need to get away.

After a week of working on the communications network, Liara decided to visit her long time friend Shepard in the hospital. The blonde sitting comfortably across from her nodded, seemingly indifferently tucking a lock of her long hair behind her ear. "You are in the business of saving people, Commander; not asking you to do something all that extraordinary".
Shepard scoffed. "I am really in no mood for games and with every passing moment, what patience I have mustered is dissipating rapidly," she said sharply, stealing a glance towards the new dark monitors across the room. Seeing Thane had cracked her wall of strict self control, not to mention her determination to keep a cool head in this, she was well aware. She was just about to tell this Elena person to get on with it and name her terms; only she knew that sort of reaction would put her directly in the Cerberus' operative's power and she knew she couldn't afford that.
She forced herself to draw in a deep breath, acutely aware of Elena watching her
