A little Gandalf themed Flash animation. Very relaxing. :) Includes a bit of audio, so you might want to turn your sounds on!

(By the way, I tried to submit this as "Fan art", but the category doesn't allow .swf files!)

Smaller gif version over at my tumblr: ullathynell.tumblr.com/post/98…

- AUDIO SOURCES -
Sounds added in the animation are not my own, but a compilation of two clips found via Freesound.org:

Campfire audio clip "fire_small_loop.wav" by PhreaKsAccount:

(Campfire audioclip is licensed under the Creative commons Attributiion License: creativecommons.org/licenses/b… )

Crickets ambience audio clip "crickets.wav" by Scolex:

(Crickets audioclip is licensed under the Creative Commons 0 License: creativecommons.org/publicdoma… )

I'm afraid I wasn't able to perfectly loop the sounds with flash, but it'll do for now..

Here is the third team for Destruction Force Hyper, the fake fighting game I'm mocking up in which the player simultaneously controls a team of 4 characters. The team in question are a bunch of characters from 's series 'Tashito the Wacky Show'.

*edit* Music is ready!

Anyway, from left to right:

Fate: the leader of the group. He's a slow, VERY powerful and defensively apt character with some nasty tricks up his sleeve to account for the low speed. He is the main damage dealing force behind the team, and much of the strategy revolves around him being in play. He can auto-switch with any member of the team, and through his moves, can arrange them into any order backstage.

Plasma: like the other cats, Plasma is extremily hyper and more than a little bit insane. He has medium damage dealing capacity, and his attacks are medium speed. He's good with projectiles, and many of his special attacks can be activated from backstage. He can auto-switch with Fate and Gluon.

Gluon: Gluon likes to chew things, whether they be inanimate or living. As a result, he has many attacks that last for a long time and hold the opponent in place. These are perfect for allowing Fate or any other member of the team enough time to switch in and start a combo. He does low damage, but can drain health and special directly from the opponent. He can chain to everyone in the party.

Quark: Quark's special attacks are quite damaging and are perfect for sniping at opponents backstage. His normal attacks are fast and safe, but low in damage, and many of them stun and auto-switch to fate. He knows some reliable counters and shielding moves that make him useful for switching in to absorb damge for teammates. As such, he has a high defense and his health recovers quickly. Quark can charge his special bar from backstage, and one of his special moves allows him to revive a fallen teammate at half health.

Yet another Laughing Man logo. I know what you're thinking, I'm just another “copy-cat” but hear me out.
I know that lots of people have done something like this as fanart already (just do a search on Laughing Man) but trust me mine is different! First of all mine is animated and most others are static. The other animated ones that I have found rotate in the wrong direction or at a poor frame rate. Another difference is that mine is darker than almost every other one. That is because most other people use a different screenshot as a reference. I'll show you what I mean. This link shows the reference that most people use and the one I used: [link]

If you look closely you can see that the word that is covered by the cap is partially repeated. That is what makes it difficult to animate. I can't just have one sentence rotate and loop that animation. I had to duplicate the sentence, offset the duplicate and only have part of each sentence show at any given time. That was how I made the obscured word appear on both sides of the cap so that the entire sentence is showing at all times, just like the original used in Ghost in the Shell. Another obstacle was the fact that Flash 8 doesn't have a text-to-path feature. Meaning that I can't write a sentence and then have it curve into a circle. Each letter is it's own independent element which is why they appear to jitter slightly as they rotate.

I made the frame rate 29.97 frames per second because that is what NTSC Televisions (American TV's) run at, and that is the frame rate used in the DVD I watched that had this logo in it. I also timed how long it took for the logo to rotate at 29.97 FPS and I am as close as I can get to the original. The only thing missing is the bloom effect which can be seen at the reference link above in the last picture. So other than the bloom effect, I did everything I could to make this just like the original.

The original was made by Paul Nicholson when Kenji Kamiyama asked him to make a logo for the Ghost in the Shell series. The sentence is a quote from The Catcher in the Rye by J D Salinger. The quote in its entirety goes,

"I thought what I'd do was, I'd pretend I was one of those deaf-mutes. That way I wouldn't have to have any goddamn stupid useless conversations with anybody. If anybody wanted to tell me something they'd have to write it on a piece of paper and shove it over to me. They'd get bored as hell doing that after a while, and then I'd be through with having conversations for the rest of my life".

You might want to right-click on it and set the quality to low because it is very CPU intensive. (I blame the lack of text-to-path functionality.) Leave a comment and tell me if I missed anything.

Bumped the letter "g" up because it was always a tad misaligned. I left that way in the original because I was lazy. Thanks to ~CarlosMC for calling me out on it.

More character models for DFH, this time, it's NCH85's team, the Digibees (and their secret weapon, Meow meow the parang weilding cat).

When I first saw the Digibees, I actually thought they were fanart from an existing manga, but it turned out they were his original creations, making them ten times more impressive. I just love the way he's designed these girls, they're just awesome funky techno bootykickaliscious.

From left to right:

Meow meow: a cat with a knife. Meow Meow is extremily fast with his paws and feet, but lacks damage dealing ability without his Parang. Luckilly, his weaker attacks fill his special guage quite quickly on contact, and his special attacks are devistating. Meow meow has the ability to auto-switch, attack, and then retreat at any time. This is perfect for attempting to fill his special guage while he's sitting safely on the sidelines.

Yumiko: The leader of the Digibees and a keen medium range fighter. Wheter she's using her fists, guns, or her robot suits, Yumiko can deal lots of damage rather quickly. However, some of her attacks can lead into long and involved chain routines involving the other digibees. If the player doesn't know what they're doing, they can expose their teammates to danger. Yumiko's power must be used with the correct strategy if she is to succeed.

Anna: Anna is a close range fighter. She's fast and has a medium damage dealing capacity, and her high frequency sword slashes can allow her to instantly cut through her opponent and get to the other side of the stage, even if they're guarding. This is useful for setting up Meow meow's cheap shots.

Yoko: A sturdy long-range fighter. Although capable of mid range combat, Yoko is rather slow, even though her attacks pack a huge punch. She excells as a long range attacker, using a variety of large guns that are not only used for offense, but also as a sheild against enemy attacks. Conveniantly, Yoko can fire her weapons from backstage, even though some of these take time to charge up.

After I'd finished making this, I realised I'd animated them to a 160 beat, meaning that I had to make up a whole new piece of music for them to bop to. Rather than do that, I just used a shortened working version of Sean's winning theme from Rave Battle, heh.

Characters are (C) NCH85.

Destruction Force Hyper is (C) Ryanide, do not distribute or steal.
