A TF2 player's wet dream. Created for all the honorable mentions and runner ups in the Create-A-Hat Contest. Twas a fun competition, and I'm glad all our hats managed to make it in-game. Once again, kudos on a well-deserved victory!
So what are they; they're the numerous weapons (and an upgrade or two) that you can unlock by siding with different Factions within COLLATERAL. Siding with one will lock you out of another, so CHOICES! However these aren't the final stuff here, but it's the sort of thing you're going to get if you get all chummy with them.
First up there is the weapons from the two major factions, Cthulhu Corp. and OCTOPI. The Portal Cannon (not gun, and there is no cake so don't ask) from Cthulhu Corp and the Whale Caller from OCTOPI. The Portal Gu- Cannon, fires out a portal that summons an otherworldly creature to suck in enemies into another dimension, like a Gun that fires Black Holes. The Whale Caller is a big Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy reference; "Hello Ground!" It summons a Sperm Whale.
Next up is The 'Box' from the Carnie Union and the Seismic Dominator from the Strippers Society. The Box is a charge weapon that launches a random bevy of projectiles once 'Pop goes the Weasel' has finished playing. I wanted to have it randomly launch Gwyneth Paltrow head, but... Lawsuits. The Seismic Dominator fires out a stream of "magic bullets" that vibrate with such an intensity it causes enemy cars to fall to pieces.
From the League of Extraordinary Super Transients (L.E.S.T.) we have the Transient Turret with 'Deadtooth Doug' and from the Big Brother on crack cocaine, NOR we have the Discombobulator. The Transient Turret is what it looks like, a Hobo strapped into an office chair... with a shotgun. The Discombobulator is a Men in Black inspired brain scrambler, and will make all hostile enemies go 'banana' once this weapon is discharged within their vicinity.
For the big Fast Food Corporations’ JRC (Just Roast Chicken) and Big Larry's Burritos we have the Laser Guided Kamikaze Poultry Launcher (L.G.K.P.) and the Rocket Propelled Burrito Launcher (R.P.B.) respectively. One weapon fires suicidal chickens and the other fires combustible burritos that explode with Big Larry's 'special sauce'.
Finally to pad out the list I was beckoned to show some upgrades (that aren't weapons) that can be unlocked. For the League of Extraordinary Super Transients (L.E.S.T.) you can unlock a bunch of Hover pads that are modified oil drums and the Carnie Union has a pair of boosters that run on confetti and Children...'s smiles.
So that's all from me, hopefully I can be back with something that isn't work related. - Mark
Frostmaw Diabolus glacias ("Ice Devil") The hells of Tethys have frozen over, unleashing this monster in the aftermath.
Frostmaw are native exclusively to the northern seas of Tethys where the waters have nearly frozen over. A complete opposite from the tropical paradise of the Gillian homeworld south of the north pole. This area is comprised of ice floes and glaciers alike, with temperatures reaching absolute zero. In this harsh climate, Frostmaw have adapted to the cold by developing a thick layer of blubber and fat within 90% of its body. Its skin is covered in a thick oil that causes water to slide off, preventing it from freezing to death. Its head however lacks this, causing it to become covered in ice within a few minutes. This is intentional, however, as Frostmaw often search for materials to place on their heads as armor (e.g. Skulls of the animals they kill). When its head freezes over, the object also freezes as well, providing a near indestructible defense (and a terrifying display).
These creatures are unmatched in terms of speed in the icy waters of Tethys. They feed primarily on ?????, their preferred prey, but will literally attack anything that moves in the water. Their thick body fat allows them to dive to extreme depths to find food, further aided by a Frostmaw's bio-luminescence. Animals attracted to light quickly meet their doom by the dreaded Reaper of the Ice. Should their prey leap onto land, they will pursue their target on land with nearly the same speed as if it was in the water. The oil on its body allows it to slide on the ice with ease, building up momentum in mere seconds. Frostmaw then proceed to overwhelm their prey with powerful blows from its armored head before devouring them whole. The red tinted fangs of a Frostmaw make tearing through flesh a cinche. Despite these obvious predatory advantages, Frostmaw are unable to survive in waters other than the north seas. They are specialists of the cold. Without it, they can be easily outcompeted by rival predators.
The northern waters of Tethys are scarcely populated, making encounters with these monsters rare. Hunts for the Frostmaw's materials are also seldom done, simply due to how powerful a single Frostmaw is. In terms of defense, Gillians living in this area must always be alert, unless they wish to become an easy meal. Bright flashes of light can stun the predator long enough for escape (or for Sharkillians, "An easy slaughter!"). The materials provided from a Frostmaw are excellent for everyday use. The oil from their bodies make an excellent anti-freeze (WARNING! Do not use near fire!), their fangs, breakable for weapon use. Occasionally, chum can be found lodged between the frozen skull pieces adorning their heads. This is a popular dessert among Sharkillians and ?????, eaten raw on the spot. A satisfied Sharkillian resident of the north claims the meat is to die for.
A bio-mechanical unit of the Lucent forces. Its body structure was based off a now extinct species of solariforme ("Solar-Users"). As a result, it possesses an artificial sun built into its mainframe, used with deadly precision against the Darkbound threat. To energize it to its max potential, it collects solar energy through the panels outstretched on its back, absorbing all available sunlight.
Raptoid units attack in squads of six or more, making swarms of these machines common on the battlefield. Their streamlined bodies allow quick and evasive movements, making their appearances a blur before its too late.
While these traits make it seem invincible against the darkness, Raptoid units do have an Achilles' Heel. A lack of constant solar energy will eventually drain its internal battery, shutting it down effectively. A fatal design flaw by basing it off a solariforme. Additionally, the sun core will detonate once the unit goes offline, damaging both friend and foe alike. Because of these flaws, a Raptoid unit won't last very long without proper support.
Gillian waters aren't the only ones to fear. The Blood Sea of Goldoa is ruled by Plesiax, devourer of sea vessels.
Plesiax's most notable feature is the two fins protruding from its upper and lower jaws. These are used for steering and balance while swimming, folding when the beast wishes to reduce drag when in pursuit of prey. Its mouth is lined with conical teeth, which while not great for tearing chunks of flesh off, is perfect for gripping onto prey. One of Plesiax's hunting habits is in fact grabbing hold of shoreline animals and dragging them to their doom in the water. There have been cases where creatures are too large to be dragged into the water (See Trinoceras). As a result, the attacking Plesiax makes a tactical retreat back into the water to avoid unnecessary injuries. Apart from terrestrial prey, Plesiax feeds on the majority of marine life underwater. Its sheer size and ferocity leave it as the apex predator of the seas of Goldoa.
Unlike most Goldoan fauna, Plesiax lacks the ability to produce fire. However, it has its own natural substitute. Within Plesiax's throat lies a 'flood sac', a special organ used for the storage of water. When truly threatened, Plesiax fires all excess water from its throat sac in a highly pressurized beam. The power of this water gun has enough force to knock an aircraft out of the skies. One shot will completely empty the sac, forcing the Plesiax to 'reload' if it wishes to attack again with it. The huge surplus of water in its environment, however, ensures that the Plesiax will never run out of ammunition.
Relationships between Dragoknights and Plesiax are bitter when at sea. Plesiax attack Dragoknight ships daily, causing delays in cargo deliveries as well as lost supplies. Hunts for these massive sea serpents are issued in retaliation. Curving the population has its benefits as well, however. Plesiax meat is high in fat, and is a delectable meal when prepared properly. The tails in particular are delicacies, often fried and prepared in a way reminiscent of Hyotl culture. When killed, the jaw fins of a Plesiax harden in place, allowing them to be used for weaponry and other practical uses (like sails).
My design for WeLoveFine.com T-Shirt Contest. I wanted to make three more designs, but unfortunately I didn't exactly have time and conditions to make them...which makes me frustrated. I don't think I have big chances with this one.
Hope such things will pop out more often, so I can draw rest of my ideas.
I really wanted to do something not too flashy and whimsical - something that I, being 23, could buy wear on a daily basis. I also love experiencing nostalgia - and Adventure Time ending theme - 'Island Song' - is something that delivers it very well. So I've drawn Finn, my favorite AT character, resting after exhausting adventure and cloud gazing, probably recalling events he experienced.
Today is the start of the voting period for We Love Fine Adventure Time T-Shirt contest~
Please vote for my design, according to your own liking, here!
Another title based on the ending theme I'm so done
