Dib found himself completely frozen again as the other approached him slowly. It was almost as if time had just stopped completely as each step created more and more anticipation and fear. He could hardly even bat an eye as his gaze was glued on to Zim with no intention of looking anywhere else.
Zim took agonizingly slow steps to him, the laughing dying down to weak 'e' sounds of an eerie laugh. He stopped when he had reached him, eyes turning wild almost instantly. He leaned forward and continued that grin of insanity, looking like he was a wrong breath away from a total meltdown. "I...want to....." The rest turned into garbled nonsense, but he paused, as if he were waiting for an answer now.
Dib didn't seem to catch on to this though as he was too intently focused on the other's horrifying expression, sending shivers down his spine the longer he stared at it. He considered running, but of course his body wouldn't even allow him to move a finger as he stood perfectly still

Soon all of Zim's tremors just seemed to halt. He pulled himself back up onto all fours, extending his head up with his neck still cocked at an awkward angle so he could see Dib's face. He parted his lips into the grin again, beginning to screech out in a single laughter with that eerie 'e' sound again.
The sight of that haunting grin seemed to paralyze the boy as he slowly let himself down to the floor, wrapping himself in a fetal position as he rocked himself very stiffly as if to comfort himself. Violent shivers also shook him as the cackle rung in his ears as they only intensified the dread he was already feeling.
Zim slowly began to drag himself over to him, seeing him as wounded prey now. His limbs still had trouble taking turns, looking even more like a creature in dire need of an exorcism.
Dib's eyes expanded as the other drew closer to him. He didn't blink now since in his mind, blinking only made him made him more vulnerable than he already was, even though he wo

As Dib stood outside of his home, he couldn't help the overwhelming loneliness that washed over him. After the neighbours reaction, he highly doubted anyone would take him seriously. Not like they had taken him seriously before anyway.
On top of the extreme aloneness, the boy was feeling a massive amount of paranoia. His house had proven to be just as dangerous a place to be now, and after seeing how easily and quickly Zim could infiltrate it, he realized he would never feel at peace inside of it. He would always be looking around himself, checking to make sure he was truly alone.
Dib took only small, slow steps towards the house now, his eyes flicking everywhere as he scanned for any threats. He was quite jumpy now though, so when a small leaf flew by him he jumped backwards a step and let out a high pitched scream. He began to breathe rapidly until realizing it was just a leaf before taking a deep breath and staring forward again, his eyes continuing to scan his environm

After hours of seemingly endless play, Dib and his small puppy finally fell asleep on the living room floor only to be awoken by the sun only a couple hours later. Dib groaned in annoyance as the rays shone in through the window, reaching for a blanket next to him to place over his face. Einstein stretched a bit with a yawn as he curled up under his neck where it was warmer. It seemed like nothing could disturb the two.
Dib lay silently now and enjoyed the peaceful moment, his mind almost completely clear of thought for the first time in quite a while. However, the thought of Zim still managed to creep its way into his mind, for he began to wonder where the alien was or what exactly he was doing since there hadn’t been a trace of him in a couple days. The thought was short lived though as he managed to push the thought aside and focus again on his small friend. Even though the small dog was a lot of work, he had no regrets in bringing him home; he pr

Upon realizing there was no sign of the Irken even making an attempt to get into his house, Dib felt it were safer to be in there now than outside so he rushed towards it in quite a hurry. Once he had burst in the door, he slammed it furiously behind him and turned to lock the door for an extra sense of security. Hopefully Gaz had a key to the house so she wouldn't bother him with her obnoxious banging as she did quite often.
After locking the door, Dib turned his back to it and leaned against it, closing his eyes and taking deep breaths in an attempt to calm himself after all of the stress he had endured that day. Unfortunately, he could only think of Zim as he stood there, images of that haunting grin flashing in his memory.
The boy let out a groan of both agony and frustration as he headed towards the downstairs bathroom, pulling out a first aid kit to bandage his wounds before heading up to his bedroom hoping that some relaxation would help to clear his mind. Of cours

Dib remained in an almost trance-like state for a few moments as he recalled a few memories of Zim. He took another deep breath before speaking again in a quiet tone. “Zim... He was pretty interesting.”
"Yes? What is his personality like?" The doctor questioned, beginning to write again at the others decision to elaborate more on the subject.
Dib slowly looked back to the doctor, shifting in his seat as he considered the question. “Well, he was loud and obnoxious and would often insult the human race whenever he had the chance to. But, he was very proud of his race and his leaders. He made every attempt to take over Earth even if he failed every time. But I liked that about him...” Dib’s voice trailed off some as his gaze lowered. “I admired that about him actually..”
Dr.Gaul hummed and nodded his head a bit. "Well, I can only chalk this up as more schizophrenia from how you say this. You seem very fond of this little delusion as

So here it is! I am finally working on this for those of you who've been so patient. I am working on making this flow a bit better so please excuse its immense length since I have been adding a lot. I hope you guys enjoy chapter one and the rest of the story once I can get around to posting it! I am writing Dib's parts and Invader-Neo is writing Zim's. I haven't edited much of hers because she writes like a boss!
Everyone in the skool building knew it was a scientific law that when there was Zim, there was always oddities and inevitably, screaming. These screams were usually on resulting in either anger and denial at anything that could have been brought to his attention that he felt were threatening to his position and mission, or from absolutely anything that came out of his arch enemy's, Dib's, mouth. And both these oddities and screams were the very things that defined what Zim was to these humans as much as his PAK defined him as an Irken. He had

Morning came early for the traumatized boy, his alarm blaring loudly in his ear that morning. It was another school day, but would he dare even risk it? The answer was an obvious no as he slammed the top of his blaring alarm with a tight fist, then covered himself back in his blankets. After lying there for several minutes to think over his situation, he considered that maybe some human interaction would help clear his mind... Maybe someone would finally talk to him.
That was a shot in the dark though when it was really considered. What would make today any different from the others to the point someone would speak to him? Especially now that word was getting around that Dib was falling deeper into a psychosis that left him dangerous to others.
He made his final decision to skip again today. In fact, he was even considering the possibility of not going anymore all together. It wasn’t doing him any good anyway and with his current being; he was in no mood for peop

Upon arriving home on that quiet, eerie night, Dib was relieved to find that no insane Irken had followed him. He was alone now, and he had the feeling he would have a peaceful night in contrast to the others he had experienced.
As Dib had made his way into the house and up to his room, the lingering smell of day old blood hit him. It wasn’t quite as harsh and foul as the pile of junk found in Zim’s closet. However, it was enough to make the boy groan in both agony and nausea, but the smell didn’t seem to stop him from hobbling to his bed and allowing himself to collapse upon it.
At least he was safe for now, and tonight would be one of the only nights open for him to sleep without much worry. Zim was still too weak to come for him, and the computer was keeping him indoors for tonight.
As Dib lay on his bed with his eyes pealed wide open, he felt himself almost grow drowsy as time proceeded. He even fell into a deep and much needed sleep within fifteen

Dib stared at Zim wide-eyed in panic as he approached him slowly, backing up a few clumsy steps before bumping into the fence behind him. He looked over his shoulder and eye it, dreading the fact that he had to climb the damned thing if he wanted to avoid the same fate his teacher had met.
After glancing back at Zim another time, seeing that he was getting closer to him quicker than he thought, he turned and faced the fence and backed up a few steps. He drew a shaky breath before running at it and making a leap as he got close to the fence, grunting as he hit it and started his desperate climb.
A screech of obvious rage exploded from the hobbling being that was trailing far behind his escaping form. “IB!!!!” The name practically pierced through the air as wild eyes, even through those contacts, locked onto him frighteningly and his arms outstretched in a dire want to rip the other from the rusty chained fence.
The screech shook the boy, causing his grip to sli

Dib’s eyes widened in shock at the split second where Zim’s old self had just flashed across his face. His jaw gaped as those words rung mercilessly through his head, and he could honestly admit to himself that those words were sincere. It was then that he had the sudden desire to help the suffering Irken rather than fight him and try to rid himself of him for good. A moment later, the boy grabbed hold of the Irken’s arms and pulled him towards his chest before standing. “I’ll… try, Zim..” He whispered before running downstairs and screaming at the computer. “Help me fix him!! There has to be some way to stop this!”
"Are you crazy??" The computer questioned. "That thing is vicious!!" It cautioned him, as if the boy wasn’t already aware. Zim was already screeching and gurgling again from being restrained, thrashing back and forth in his arms.

Light golden rays from the morning sun shone into the living room window the next morning. Dib woke up peacefully, taking in a deep breath and slowly opening his eyes and blinking a few times as they adjusted to the bright light. After a few minutes or so, he looked down to his little companion who was still sleeping peacefully on his chest, making him smile. He eventually made the decision to wake Einstein, shaking him lightly. The puppy, however, refused to wake up just yet and covered his face with his paw.
Dib chuckled, then took this time to observe the messy environment around him. The night had been peaceful… Almost a little too peaceful, which made the boy suspicious. Some things seemed to be misplaced, however the thing that stood out most to the human were the long, deep claw marks in the walls around him. He knew they hadn’t been there before he fell asleep, and they were far too long and high for Einstein to had made them. It was obvious then t

Dib’s hurried pace soon slowed to a steady walk as he got closer to Zim’s base. He delayed getting there as he was both afraid and nervous of what he may find here. He actually started to second guess if this was the best thing to do, but he arrived before he knew it. Once it were visible across the road from him, Dib stopped and stared at it for a short time. He drew in a deep breath, whispering unsure words of encouragement before starting closer towards it.
Zim's base looked pretty similar on the outside, except for where his gnomes keeping his house protected had been destroyed. Though, it did seem to have an eerie aura around it which was something that hadn’t been present in the past.
Dib had made it to the front door now, staring upon it as if there were something fairly interesting about it. In reality, he was just preparing himself for what he was sure would be a quite shocking sight. Finally, he pushed the door open and flicked on the lights wi

Dib bit down firmly on his lip before shakily stepping forward and pulling him slowly up the creaky stairs. Since it was dark, he squinted his eyes in an attempt to see a bit clearer in the small amount of light that he had. As he slowly made his way up the stairs, whispering the Irken’s name in an attempt to draw him out from his hiding place. In a situation such as this, Dib preferred to know where Zim was rather than him be out of sight with the possibility of a surprise attack.
After a minute of crawling painfully slow up the stairs, he finally made it to the top with the sight of the illuminated room at the end of the hallway; the same room his sister’s decomposing body lay on the metal table. That light was still on, but there weren’t any sounds. Either the Irken was being especially quiet, or he wasn't there at all.
Dib’s feet were planted deeply where he stood, hesitating to go any closer to the room. Memories and dreadful images of what l

Dib rolled his eyes. Of course Zim would be going off again. This time was no different to the last, except instead of rambling on about the cafeteria food giving him blisters, he was directly addressing the cafeteria drone herself. She ignored him of course, barely casting an eye towards the green 'child' directly in front of her, let alone every other student in the cafeteria for that matter.
How could they not see? Even after a two years of the same nonsense. Dib had at least expected something to change. But no. He was still picked on. Still known as the crazy kid with no friends. The paranormal freak.
Putting his hand to his chin, Dib slowly ate his cafeteria food, trying to blot out the noise of Zim's raspy voice, but it was no good. He could still hear it ringing throughout his head. He almost envied how the other students could block Zim out so easily. He just wouldn't shut up.
The pounding sensation emerging on the right side of his temple didn't help either. The more Zim rant
Hypothetical - chapter 1A/N: This takes place after another story of mine called Experimental. If you haven't already clicked the back button, you might be okay to stick around if you haven't read it, I think the characters basically recap everything from that story you need to know to understand this one. Basically Zim did stupid things and ran into some scary people who tried to kill him but couldn't quite manage it and there was a bit of a kerfuffle.Hypothetical - chapter 12 years ago in Sci-Fi More Like This
The chupacabra was seven feet tall and dripping mucus. It took a step closer to Dib, snorting a gobbet of snot at him.
Dib backed up. His heart was pounding in his chest.
"I have found you," the chupacabra growled, in a voice like grinding steel. "You have exploited my children and taken my food, and I will suck the brains from your head and tear your carcass to the four winds."
"No, you won't!" Dib said, flinging one arm in a dramatic skyward point. He was sweating a bit, though. He knew his 'secret weapon' wasn't exactly reliable... or good.

When Zim came to it was completely dark. He could vaguely remember waking up a few other times but had quickly been drugged again before he could get his bearings. Now he had absolutely no idea where he was.
Slowly his eyes began to adjust to the dark and he could only just make out the wooden crate he was trapped inside. Trapped! He was trapped and couldn't get out! His heart began to pound as panic rose up inside of him, forcing away all sense and reason. He scrabbled; twisting around in the tiny space as he desperately looked for any way out. He was an Invader, and Invaders could not be contained!
All of a sudden the crate bumped joltingly and light flooded in from a sliding opening. Zim didn't think twice before he shot out of the crate like a bullet, blinded by the sudden bright light he ran until he careened head first against a tree, abruptly stopping his panicked flight.
He blinked dizzily and looked up stupidly at the tree he had smashed into at top speed. T

Dib struggled to catch his breath, slumping down against the ragged edge of the wall. Before him, a now empty courtyard. The bell had gone not long ago. The others had long started to head inside for class, nobody noticing let alone caring about the lanky doubled over teen. He coughed, and was shocked to spit up a small bit of blood.
Dib wiped his hand against his trench coat, before wiping at his mouth. He spat onto the ground beside him, before looking around as though afraid of being attacked. Never before had he fought to this extent with Zim before. There was no denying that over the past two years things had heated up between both rivals.
Dib spat again, before pulling himself up. He had no choice but to head back to class, knowing he would either invoke the Bitters horrible wrath or land himself a place in the underground classroom for the rest of the year. Wanting neither, he trudged back into the building. Only after his right

Dib could feel the other's fake eyes following him, watching his every move as he packed up the last of the gym volley balls into there bags, and he couldn't help but wonder why. Why was it that fate was so cruel towards him? Ever since he'd first entered high-school, it seemed every teacher he came into contact with was drawn towards pairing him up with his worst enemy, as he currently was right now. Not that it really mattered when the green menace just sat back and watched.
"You know, you COULD help me with some of this, you jerk." he said, picking up the first bag of volley balls to move them over towards the equipment room.
After an intense gym period in the close to freezing-cold basketball court, their gym teacher had assigned THEM to pack up all the equipment and move it back before heading home. A few weeks shy of the winter break, Dib just wanted to get out of the school's required gym clo

I was trying to focus on what the Mr. Picante was saying but the bite mark is really disturbing. Last night it looked swollen but it felt painless, today it looked a bit better but it's really itchy. Ugh, what is up with that!?
I wanted to scratch the spot on my sleeve where the bite mark is so bad but I might just drew attention. Like I said, really disturbing.
"Great, just when you need the alien, that's also the same time when he's not in. It looks like I'm going to pay him a little visit after school." I muttered to myself.
I sighed, then started scribbling on my notebook while trying to put most of my attention on Mr. Picante's lecture. Come on bell, ring already. I started thinking of what to say or ask Zim once we meet. "Mr. Dib, what ever your surname is... Can you tell me why do squids have ten tentacles instead of eight like octopuses do?" Mr. Picante asked, snapping me back to reality. That

Scene: the skool classroom
Dib is bored out of his mind. He's tapping his fingers on his desk, staring into space, drooling a little. It is late afternoon and the day has been dragging.
He looks outside. The sun is dipping lower in the sky but the day still hasn't ended.
Ms Bitters is ranting and raving about, what else, DOOM. Her favourite subject. Dib keeps tuning in and out of it, but it's going something like this:
We are all DOOMed, each in our own individual DOOMed ways. A lot of us - most of you DOOMed children, I DARE say - will be destroyed by the monsters of DOOM that this filthy world creates to prey on innocence. More intellectual types may be destroyed by the monsters of DOOM that exist within their minds. Either way, monsters of DOOM will come for you, each and every one...
That's enough of that. Dib sighs audibly. A spitball hits him in the back of the head and he grimaces. How much longer can he survive? So, as a means of entertainm
