What Would Clark Do?Lois stirred the olive in her martini bored. She and Clark were covering Wonder Woman in Metropolis. The Amazing Amazon was stopping in Metropolis to attend a fashion show fund raiser headed by Lana Lang. In addition to her appearance, Wonder Woman was donating an artifact from her home Themyscira to raise more money. All the money donated were going to local women shelters. What Would Clark Do?3 years ago in Profiles More Like This
Lois hated covering stories like this. More correctly, she hated covering stories where Wonder Woman was doing yet another magnanimous thing. She only have to show up and men would fall all over her and do whatever she wanted. Sometimes the women responded the same way. She was so perfect. Perfect hair. Perfect teeth. Perfect smile. Perfect eyes. Perfect body. Well, almost.
The breasts were fake. Lois knew that. They had to be. No one had such large, proportioned, perky breasts without surgery. Yeah, that was it. The Amazons were a scientific advanced race. If they can build an invisible jet, they can ma

Diana sighed in relief as the Javelin came in for a smooth landing at the Watchtower satellite. Flash was piloting the ship back with Green Lantern, Hal Jordan, in the copilot seat. She, Hal, Wally and Superman were on a deep space mission that took them away from Earth for two weeks.
Upon return to Earth, they were caught in an asteroid storm. Flash was piloting and even though the Javalin shook violently under his control, he didn't want to put full control of the ship in Hal's hands. He argued he had enough skill to pilot the ship during the storm. Hal argued with him, citing his piloting expertise. They bickered like a couple on a long trip.
Diana couldn't help feeling a little unnerve at the constant shakes of the ship. She wasn't scared but she didn't want the ship to split apart in space either. Sitting next to her was Clark who briefly squeezed her hand and assured her it would be all right.
Diana also knew if something were to ha

"Why do I get the feeling you are only here to see what my secret admirer brought me this time?"
Donna dropped herself onto the comfy sofa in Diana's office. As usual, Diana was working at her desk adding the finishing touches to her speech for the Embassy's charity dinner. "Because you are gifted with Athena's wisdom."
"And I am your sister. I know you very well."
"Can you blame me?" Donna sifted through the magazines on the end table. Not one Cosmopolitan or Vanity Fair. "This secret admirer is romantic. I want to see what he will give you to make up for the bra and panties, and I want to see if he will do the impossible."
"Melt that cold heart of yours."
Diana crumpled a sheet a paper and was ready to throw it at her sister when Ana burst into the room baring gifts from Diana's admirer. "Oh, I can't wait to see what he got you this time!" Ana was nearly jumping up and down in excitement with another bouquet of flowers; roses this time and an

The day Clark Kent got engaged to Lois Lane, Wonder Woman swore off unrequited love forever.
She was dodging the icebergs and Giganta in the Artic Ocean, when she heard the JLA com-link sputter to life with the news. Green Arrow was on monitor duty and as per his usual style, was publishing hourly 'news bulletins'.
Momentarily distracted by the news, she lost her balance, flung herself backwards to avoid Giganta's fist, hit a large cliff of ice, and fell into the icy ocean in angry confusion.
Green Arrow's voice didn't even fade, the com-links being built to withstand extreme conditions.
Wonder Woman gritted her teeth, and flew out of the ocean, straight at Giganta, muttering to herself.
Thoughts such as, "Oh Kal, if this is true, then you deserve Lois," "Oh, you irritating Superman, somebody needs to castrate you," came easily to her lips.
Of course, she admitted honestly to herself, it wasn't as if Superman was more than a friend. And while she'd always had a soft spot for Ka

Naruto could also tell just by glancing too. Despite appearing dumb and foolish, he was more observant than most people thought. There was simply something about him that was…different… from the rest of the kids he would see on the playground, or the fellow academy students he watched in the academy. After earning constant insults and glares, he eventually learned to hate that "something" that distanced him from the others.
Like that bright blond hair he had, that was so rare and uncommon in Konoha.
Like those weird whisker marks he had on his cheeks, ever since he could remember.
Like that ugly reddish skin he had that made him look as if he had just been sunburnt.
Even his stature was not normal – he was the smallest boy in the class!
But it wasn't only his appearance that he disliked. Oh no.
He didn't like it when the grown ups whispered those horrible things about him when the

Ever since their academy days, Naruto had harbored a crush on Haruno Sakura. Bright, shining green eyes, exotic, luscious pink hair, creamy, blemish-free pale skin, and – most of all – a sassy, no-nonsense attitude that totally exuded confidence, even from such a young age. Best friend of beautiful, blonde Ino, the most popular girl, Sakura stood high above the other girls, an untouchable idol, meant to be looked upon and envied. Even when her friendship with Ino broke, Sakura was still kept high on this pedestal by the boys in the class, most notably Naruto, who practically worshiped the ground she walked on. Sakura's intelligence more than made up for her barely-acceptable taijutsu, and she became top of the class when it came to written and oral exams.
No. Pale, frail, timid little Hinata never claimed to be better than Sakura.
After all, it was Sakura who was chosen in the end to be part of Naruto's team. Sakura was the per

My mind a reflex not to dare to doubt:
Another guilty man about to die.
The sun was high; my heart unfeeling there
As lots we cast and crossing wood we rose.
The sign above his head, though, made me dare
To wonder if the truth he did disclose.
Then, sudden, night arose; the earth grew weak;
The stones beneath, before me split apart;
From graves I heard the dead arise and speak;
Above the man then spoke and split my heart:
"Commit I, Lord, My spirit." Then He died.
O Thee, the Son of God, we crucified.

"Well think about it, it was exactly what happened when Darkseid attacked last year. I think they were making a movie about us, and changed the names. Big fight, in the middle of the city, unbelievable property damage, those Chitauri things, were basically parademons. Need I say more?"
"Now that you mention it you're right." Diana said with a thoughtful look on her face. "Tony Stark was basically Bruce wearing John Henry's armor."

Rescue From Within: EpilogueAN: Unless you have been living under a rock, there have been some major changes with DC Comics in the past two weeks. We know there will be happy moments that will make us squee and moments that will make us bang our heads against the wall. It won't be all roses for these two. Clark was smiling at himself in the mirror. He had plenty to smile about and for very different reasons than you or I. His smile today had to do with his quickly developing and increasing powers and with his best friend.
Four specific powers contributed to his smile today, but at the moment Clark had only considered three, his strength, his speed and his impressive recuperative powers. He was especially pleased with his recuperative powers.
Clark and the Junior Justice League had tangled with the Junior Doomers earlier that morning. It seemed that the JDer's had developed a plan to turn all ocean water into kool-aid. This had of course been Bizarro's idea. And why not, it was what the oceans were made out of back on his home world of Htrae.
Bruce had been monitoring the Junior Doomers chatter and Arthur had confirmed that they were moving barrels of nasty smelling sugary stuff to his beloved waters. So the Junior Justice League had intervened in the

Her smile was as brilliant and as radiant as the sun itself, and the warmth of her greeting reflected that sentiment. They walked to the training fields to meet Kara, as she told him about Kara's training; asking him to restrain himself for Kara's sake so that Kara could demonstrate the martial skills she had learned from the Amazons. She told him, too, about Kara's studies and how well she was doing in each of her classes, especially in her science class. Kal tried to interact and reply with intelligent responses, but it had been so long since he had last seen Diana that he had been unprepared for her presence. Her voice was a like song, each word a

I met her up in Delaware in 1937...
An AU story about Superman and Wonder Woman's love...
It was a property the Waynes had bought--years before--that nobody knew existed. Bruce Wayne had decided to make it a place for a vacation when he needed one. It was here that the Gotham multimillionaire playboy hosted a Christmas Eve party.
It was here Clark Kent met her--a beautiful girl with long, black hair, wearing a pretty red dress and lipstick to match.
He didn't know why he came--Perry had insisted he cover the party. Honestly, he didn't see anything worth reporting about this function. Besides, he was a crime reporter, not a charity reporter or a gossip columnist--that was Cat Grant's job. Plus, they had the Gotham Chronicler. But being the ever-mild-mannered employee, he was never one to complain. He took the assignment. And so he went. He was glad he did.
Clark Jerome Kent was never one for parties. He was socia

"Daddy, what am I supposed to do on a date?"
Clark and his eight-year-old son, Kairos, walked up a grassy hill to their home. Clark carried the fishing poles while Kairos carried his father's tackle box. Father and son were spending the day together and they used some of that time fishing. It was something Clark and his Earth father, Jonathan Kent, did together. However, Clark and Kairos never kept what they caught. They always tossed the fishes back into the lake. Fishing was a good time for father and son to bond while Diana spent her day at the Themyscira Embassy in New York visiting her sisters. Their daughter, five-year-old Lyta, was on Themyscira spending time with her grandmother and her many aunts.
Clark was humorously bemused at his son's question. Kairos had a crush on a girl already? He was always so serious, focusing on education and perfecting the use of his powers. "Who's the girl?"

There’s no doubt of that.
But I’m surely no Superman,
No, I ‘m not your Superman.
Sorry, but I’m not.
If I was? I’m defeated.
They stripped the "super" out from "man".
Or perhaps I did.
Perhaps my fear made my grip loosened on the "super" and I regressed back to just "man".
Enemies struck me down upon a bed Kryptonite spikes.
I am impaled with Kryptonite. That terrible green glow blinds me. My strength is turning to ashes before my eyes.
Their harsh, grating laughter rings in my ears like a death knell of my power and dignity.
Sorry, but I’m not the Superman you believe I am.
Confidence is what I lack, I can’t act with tact.
I’m just a mess of a man who went too far on the edge of his own abilities.
They gave the mantle of power but my knees tremble under the weight.
I can no longer bear the burden of power.
I don't lead. I wasn't meant to be a leader.
All I can do is follow where you rule.

The Truth About Santa
"I finished my letter to Santa, Daddy," Five-year-old Kairos waved a crisp white paper at his father. He spent the last hour and five tossed papers in his wastebasket, thinking of what to say to Santa and what to ask for.
It was a big thing writing to Santa. Aside from his parents and his Godfather Bruce, Santa was the coolest person in the world. A big jolly man who delivered presents to all the good little boys and girls in the world. He also lived at the North Pole. Kairos thought it was strange how he had a home at the North Pole but never saw Santa. When he asked his parents about that, his Mommy always referred to his Daddy for the answer. Daddy said Santa Claus doesn't live in the same area in the Arctic as they do and Kairos accepted. Though he often wondered why his Daddy never showed him the area Santa lived in.
Clark took the letter from his son. "Well, let's see what you want."

'Head over heels', now that is a strange phrase, Clark thought merrily. "Generally my head is over my heels. Whenever I'm standing, walking, sitting or running. The only time my head isn't over my heels is when I'm lying down. Then my heels are level with my head!" Clark snorted back a laugh at the thought.
Clark's mind continued wandering along this profound line of thought. He was certain that it had never been given much thought before.
"It should be, 'heels over head' or 'flat on my face' in love." I should be so deep in love that there is no way for me to tell up from down.
One cheerful thought spawned another. "Kind of like the time Diana and I were flying just over the stratosphere coming home from a relief mission in Taiwan. Diana started to feel dizzy, so I picked her up, closed my eyes and stopped flying. We were weightless for sever

Wonder Woman flew very fast. She had to hustle.
She was very excited. She was meeting Kal for an appointed tussle.
The opportunities they'd had to spar had been few and scattered.
But the fact that she was meeting him now was what mattered.
She just loved that Kal was so strong and gentle and pure.
And the fact that he'd agreed to meet someplace distant and obscure.
She began to descend as their tiny island came into view.
She pictured Kal's gentle smile and strength as she flew.
Diana dropped from the sky to the sand as she landed.
She thrilled to see that Kal was there as they'd planned it.
He walked up to her and she planted a kiss on his cheek.
She'd missed him. They hadn't seen each other for nearly a week.
Kal felt all warm and tingly and he grinned like a fool.
Diana touched his face and smiled back. Wait! Was that drool?!
They separated slowly then each took up a stance.
Their fight would be long but sweet, like a dance.
