Here is another commission! This time it's The Emperor's New Clothes by Hans Christian Andersen. You can buy a print in my Etsy and I also stocked a print for one of my previous pieces, The Steadfast Tin Soldier.
A commission I finished this week based on some wonderfully original stories by Christine Tyler. Had a lot of fun with the color and costuming in this one. In this scene a group of Dyrads have captured a headless (living) man.
If you're interested in commissioning me, head over to my Etsy!
When I heard Del Toro was judging a contest on Deviant Art I was like.... omfg YES! So here's my entry for the DevArt Scared Stiff contest. When I was a kid I had a very active imagination and I translated such experiences into this piece. Here is a little girl, she had crowned herself the owl princess of the backyard and would save her toys from the vicious swamp frogs and turtles that inhabited it. Then, at night these self created characters would come to life in her dreams and turn into nightmares, seeking out retribution and vengeance. So eventually, every creak and bump in the night would scare her into thinking she was going to be attacked. Until one night...
This week I swapped with Ariyana Suvarnasuddhi on Ten Paces And Draw. The theme was Exotic Travels and I was a bit inspired by The Neverending Story for this one. Now off to Key West for a week, be back in July! CHeck out everyone’s pictures here, [link]
Hey all, here is my piece for Light Grey Art Lab’s upcoming show, “Tarot, Mystics, and the Occult”, which will be on display in October. This is a huge 78 artist show featuring many of my favorite contemporary illustrators! My card was part of the major arcana, The Lovers. I think I may have gone crazy with the details in this one, haha, but it looks beautiful on the card.
The gallery will be selling limited edition Giclee Prints of this piece starting October 19th. I will not be selling this piece as a print in my Etsy so you’ll have to quickly buy them as soon as their available!
You can also pre-order the whole deck with everyone’s art for $25, HERE -> [link] .
The show will open on October 19th at Light Grey Art Lab’s gallery in Minneapolis. If you’re in the area definitely go and check it out, and send me pictures of everything set up! You can buy the decks and I think the prints in person at the opening reception too.
Recently I participated in the Art Order’s Evolution Challenge, where artists were given a very brief description of a character and were then asked to interpret it into their own style. Check out all 125 entries at, [link]
