The Im'Salanos are a race of Rossnes light elves who lived in north-western Zarhuy.
Really, they aren't elves, but half-elves. However, what made them distinctive from other half-breeds, it's that rather than lonely individuals, product of the not so frecuent inter-species relations, the Im'Salanos are a nation of half-elves, with a distinctive culture -so other half-elf, half-kanov, aren't considered Im'Salanos.
The origin of the Im'Salanos are in the end and fall of the High elven imperialism in Zarhuy, during the Age of Invasions and after the Apparition of Humanity.
The age of Invasions, called like that due the massive migrations and invasions triggered by the apparition of humanity, was a terrible moment for the High elven colonies, kingdoms and settlements of Zarhuy -and later, of Aels and Hieyoks-.
They where already weakened by the Wars of the Plains, fought against the orcs: and when the Kanovs advanced with their numbers, there wasn't much for the high elves to oppose them, and many times, the former glorious and rich Zarhuycan elven kingdoms where destroyed, with the population slaughtered, enslaved or dispersed in the fields, originating from the survivors of these cathastrophes the sand and wild elves, marginal survivors and mere shadows of the former high elven kingdoms.
Tryan'marhiel, a High elven kingdom of silver elves located in the northwestern shores of Zarhuy, to the sea of Caritz, was one of the many high elven kingdoms that where destroyed, after resisting for 13 years war and siege by the still barbaric and brutal kanovs.
As the Kanov invaders entered in the city, with the walls in ruins and doors broken, angered by the long and bloody war they had to fight to conquer the city, they killed all the male elves that could use arms, taking their women and children as slaves.
However, the rough kanov warriors, impressed by the city they conquered with blood and steel, decided to settle in the ruined high elven city -renaming it Try'marhak-. Having few woman of their own, the kanov take as concubines the high elves, and as children where born these half-elves, shame to elfkind and sons of slaves, but as well, heirs of the victors.
These half-elves inherited from their kanov forefathers the dark skin, brown and red eyes, and brown hair, while they inherited from their elven mothers a longer longevity, health, and often, the elven ears.
When the children of the Kanovs and elves of Try'Marhak converted to the Islam, they renamed once more time the city, to Imad'Salįm, and they called themselves, the Im'Salanos.
The Im'Salanos considered themselves first as Kanov than elves, but the elven legacy wasn't completely forgotten.
They slowly expanded, being sailors, fishers and naval traders, clashing inlands often with Kanov, human and sand elves, and in the sea, with the Tunecern pirates -who get to put the Imad'Salani cities in such problems, that they had to make an alliance with the Caliphate of the Orange Sun of Blazakhov, for protection.

This phenomenon was easily one of the most amazing things I have seen. We were extremely fortunate to witness this during summer, which is apparently quite a rare opportunity. This photograph is one of the photographs from the time lapse video that I had shot that night.

The Pixerian where a class of Artificial demonic creation: Golems of War.
Since the beginning of the Dark Legion, the Demons allways where on the search of producing the final soldier, servant and slave, reason why they created many races, species, by magic, breeding or other dark arts.
During the First War of the Power (2.203 - 2.223 a.a.H), the dark legion forces consisted largely in confederated, allied and mercenary forces of kanov, orcs, goblins, ogres and trolls, beastmen, draak-Harg, siggos, dragons, humans and elves (dark and light), along with a core of Dark legions -monsters and creations of demons- and the demons themselves.
This was determined by the rulers of the Dark Legions, by the Second Coming of Darkness (2.434 since the Apparition of Human Age) as one of the reasons in their defeat in the First war of the Power.
That's why, during the Second War of the Power (2.434-2.539) the Dark Legion wanted to avoid to rely on allies, vassals, confederated and mercenaries, and instead raise an army of Dark Legions.
In the case of Tok-Thoria, the Nigromante changed his forces from a small core of demons aided by Tokerķ Kanov mercenaries and orc vassals, to a large army breeded and raised in Tok-Thoria, creating the Black Orcs or Koktos, along with Ogres and auxiliary mercenary forces.
With these armies, Tok-Thoria began their expansion in the shores of the sea of Tok, in Aels and Hieyoks, and between the 2.430 to the 2.483, the dark power of the Nigromante only keep raising and raising: And so, with his large armies to back his ambition, the Nigromante proclamed the Secession of Tok-Thoria from the Dark Legion at the 2.483 a.a.H.
As an opening move, his armies invaded the Empire of Uslen the following year, annexing the whole Unnlic peninsula, and while his armies fought off the forces of the Unholy Mountain of Hortann, loyal to Satman the Apprentice and the Dark Legion, he builded the larger and more powerfull fleet of war, becoming the hegemonic power in the seas of Caritz and Tok.
This however meant the competence with the rising Caliphate of Blazakhov, beginning the Wars of Tok-Thoria, between the Caliphate and the Forces of the Nigromante.
But at the 2.532 a.a.H, with the destruction of the fleet of Tok-Thoria in the catastrophic naval battle of Demonatch, the tides of war changed with Blazakhov dominating the seas, and the armies of Tok-Thoria in Zarhuy and Hieyoks, without supplies or reinforces, where finally defeated.
As lesson from this war, the Nigromante decided that the Black orcs, while useful slaves, weren't enough to make an army to conquer the world, and began developing a new and final soldier. The Pixerians.
At the 2.536 a.a.H, with the beginning of the sucession war of the Dark Legion after the treason of Satman the Apprentice, who tried to make a coup d'etat to Sataan, master of the Dark Legion, failing at it, making him become Satman the Fallen, the four black kings of Zaghäl, Dol-Nur, Tok-Thoria and Anutkia fought a civil war for the place of being the Right Hand of Sataan.
The Nigromante quickly made a peace-treaty with the Caliphate of the Orange Sun of Blazakhov... and for the first time, the Pixerianos, meant to be his secret weapon against the Caliphate, where used, but against the other princes of the Dark Legion.
During the War of the Four Black Kings (2.536-2.539), The armies of the Nigromante, compossed of black orcs but having a core compossed of these forged warriors, will face in battle the remnants of the forces of Satman in the Unholy mountain of Hortann, sacking the fortress and conquering it, advancing then over the lands of Anutkia. However, the armies of Anutkahook, demonlord of Anutkia, rather than facing the Nigromante, had marched to Polforia, to fight and defeat the black Kings of Dol-Nur and Zaghäl, who had proclaimed themselves as the Right Hand.
The Nigromante was too late, and too far away, to reach Polforia where the decisive battle was fought, so his armies sacked Anutkia and tried to siege Kuekker, capitol of Anutkahook, without results.
With the War of the Four Black Kings, ended the Second War of The Power... Anutkahook became the Right Hand of Sataan, but the Nigromante had won Hortann, becoming once again part of the Dark Legion. But was as well this war, the raise of the Pixerians, as the forces of the Dark Legion, who will become the hardest core of the Dark Legion.
The Pixerians and all the other war forged creations and war golems will be in the third and final war of the Power (2.633 - 2.675 a.a.H) the principal fighting force, not only of Tok-Thoria, but being the backbone of the Dark Legion, and almost give to the demons the definitive and final victory...
But with the Great Cataclysm, and the fall of the demons, the forged pixerians became dormant, to rust under the sun...
The Pixerian was the name used to design the Warforged golems, who looked like an armor, to differentiate them from other creations forged by the demons with the same ways, but diverse structure, forms and functions.
They where "Creations", beings that weren't alive, but moved:
Made of Iron, sand, dirt and grease, some called them "Elementals", but they where very far away from being a power of the nature: These creations only had the will of their master, and moved as chess pieces, only under they orders:
Taller than a man, builded upon flesh and bones raised in cauldrons, oil, grease, gear and Iron, with humanoid form, The Pirexians didn't had life, or will:
They only moved as their master ordered, and when they do so, they didn't needed to breath, to eat, to drink or rest:
Colossal enemies, extremly dificult to destroy -as they never had live to be killed-, the great flaw was, precisely, that they didn't moved, if they don't have orders from their masters:
And if their master forget them, or was killed, they will wait, as statues, covered in dust, centuries or the rest of the eternity, until their pieces fall due the time...
Ozcuras are goblinoids of the orc family, who where created by the demon dark lord of Entartea, breeded from a mix of grey and green orcs, goblins, kanovs, drows, humans and dark elves, being then considered a demon creation.
They are originary from Entartea, but extended in most of the region of Polforia and the north of the continent of Aels.
Ozcuras were goblinoids characterized for their grey skin, black or grey hair, short fangs and proportions very similar to elves in the case of females. Together with the Koktos and Ur Dur, they compress the family of the daemonibii orcii, or goblinoids created by the demons. They range extends from Navatiak to Zagäl in Polforia, being originary from Entartea. They had an average living span of 25-30 years.
The Ozcuras size and weight can vary considerably, due the reason of having been breed from several species and races by the demons; however normally the females are about the size of the Koktos or black orcs of Tok-Thoria, and they weight up about half the weight of the males, who are considerably larger. These orcss are the most sexually dimorphic of the then seven orc races.
When reaching 8 years old, a ozcurilla, a ozcura youngling is already a adolescent, and at 12, they are adults. In the Ozcuras society, the women are the warriors and workers: however, their culture truly is extremly patriarcal:
there is about one adult Ozcuros, -male- every 8 or 9 ozcuras: Normally, they born in the proportion of 2:8, but less than half of them reach adulthood:
the ozcuras are the workers, the gatherers, the artisans and the warriors: the males dedicate to fight each other for herds of Ozcuras, they breed, eat or sleep, hunting as well sometimes to pass the time:
The ozcuros establish and defend distinct terriotories in the Ozcuras pits and settlements, were they continuosly will make threat displays toward neighboars and intruders to protect both territories and females, wih aside from fist and armored fights will be about vocalizations, head shaking, stares and bluff lunges.
normally, a Ozcuro will have a herd of 3 to 18 ozcuras, being the more sucesful the larger older males:
For this, there aren't love among these orcs: the males may pic the females when they return from war or forage and coerce them into their territories and herd, stealing them as well from other males, as for them the herd aren't only for reproduction but as well have an economic value, as the females ozcuras work -something the males doesn't do-.
the herds are compressed of the Ozcuro, his ozcuras and the ozcurillas and pups, and among the female ozcuras is common to fight to be the main ozcura of the herd.
The males that failed to secure territories and herds, most often sub-adult ozcuros, will cause group raids in attemps to change the status-quo and gain access to females, and sometimes they will abduct ozcurillas and pups, in an attemp to control the mothers.
Created to be slaves of the demons, all of them served lords of the Dark Legion, except some few deserters, and the males leaved their ozcuras go to fullfil their duties, or otherwise they will feel the consecuences:
During campaigns, as the males stay behind with their other females and in their territories, is said the ozcuras to act extremly agressive towards the females and pups of other races and species, meanwhile they will be very open to other male minions of the dark legion -as green and black orcs, for example, humans and many others- as well sometimes prisioners, and this explain the further process of hibridation among the ozcuras.
As well, being creations of demons, many of their more orcish social conducts were modified, as for example the bathing habits, as they were forced to bath daily, meanwhile the black orcs for example will never touch the water if they can.
As orcs, they prefeer to eat meat -and don't have problem if its from sentient people, or other ozcuras if they aren't from their pit-, but they can be omnivore.
There where many Bazrrod, lords of the Daimons, that served under the banner of the Dark Legion of Demons under Sataan, as well other demon lords as Satman the Apprentice, who acted as generals and predilect servants of their master.
One of these minor demon lords was Tulkhut, General of the Dark Legion sended during the Kanovhook war, the wars between the dark legion and the kanovs for the supremacy in Polforia, to defeat the kanovs of the tribe of the Konolards in Entartea:
In the first battle in 1.768 since the aparition of humans, in the Fields of Entartea, the army of Tulkhut of 12.000 demons was defeated by 30.000 Konolard kanov warriors.
Knowing that failura wasn't an option for the Great Demon Lords, paying with his live or worse if he returned emptyhanded to Morod, he gathered the remanent of his forces and fortifief himself in some forestry hills near the place of his defeat in Entartea. From this position, he tried to launch new attacks against the Konolards, being defeated and forced to retreat again to his fortified field, were he resisted a serie of assaults of the Konolards.
Slowly, the entrenched camp become a true fortress, defeating two new Konolard assaults: But meanwhile the Kanovs quickly reemplaced their casualities, the demons under Tulkuth were every time less and less.
To ask for reinforcements to Morod was to accept failure, so he prefeered to stay there and leave his forces be killed, rather than return defeated:
He needed more troops, or otherwise he couldn't achieve the task... So, he decided to grow is own army in the pits of Entartea:
He ordered his minions to raid nearby areas, looking for slaves and test subjects, returning the folllowers of Tulkuth with kanovs, humans, orcs, goblins, some elves and surface drows from the Canaia tribe.
Tulkuth, along with his more powerful warlocks, alchemists, nigromancer and sorcerers dragged the unfortunate prisioners to the dark dungeons of Entartea, where they were locked with the demon lord and his more powerful followers:
After three months and more, as the troops of Tulkuth awaited eagerly outside of the dungeon, he leaved, alone, the pits of Entartea, with his energy completely depleted: he slowly walked to his throne, where he sit down without saying a word: No one know one word more of what happened to the companions of Tulkhut, or about the prisioners.
But 12 years later, meanwhile the lonely demon fortress resisted the Konoloard assaults, Tulkuth opened the doors of the pits, and from the deep dungeons of Entartea came out an army compossed of warrior women of grey skin and black hair, created who know using what kind of demonic arts.
This first army of 4.000 amazons was send against the Konolards, being guided by a Skavo demon captain of low importance called Ralhat. Quickly, this army begun to raid, destroy, burn and loot the lands of the Konolards, who after 24 years of keeping the demons fighting in a defensive way, didn't expected an offensive like this, being slow in gathering their forces, meanwhiles their farms and villages were being destroyed and the inhabitants cruely being killed and tortured by the demonic creatures:
Finally, the Konolardos faced the army of creations of Tulkuth that the Konolards begun to call ozcuras for their dark skin and hearths.
In the battle of the fields of Hilįn, in 1792 a.a.H, the kanov annihilated the army of Ralhat, who was killed and quartered, meanwhile almost all of the ozcuras were killed: the few survivors run to the forests, trying to reach Entartea, but most were killed by the Konolardos who hunted them down.
When Tulkhut learned about the defeat of his army, he just opened again the doors of the dungeons, marching outside of them a second, larger army of Ozcuras. again, they attacked and looted the lands of the Konolardos, until the kanov army reached them and defeated this second army as well:
After these two campaigns of the demons, the Great Kanov of the Konolards, Grėdker the Black, decided to expulsate in a definitive way the demons from these lands, bringing all the warriors of his tribe to the woods of Entartea:
With 25.000 warriors, Grėdker the Black reached the walls of Entartea the 1796 a.a.H, assaulting the walls with violence, after victory or death:
In their furious assaults, they conquered the exterior fortifications, even if they lacked in experience or equipment to assault a fortress, and continued the pressure.
In the end, only the black tower of Tulkhut remained: they breached the walls, only to find the opened doors of the deep dungeons of Entartea, where Tulkhut hidded... and were a complete army of Ozcuras was hidding:
Then, the surprised kanovs were pushed back, but they were trapped within the walls of Entartea: other army of ozcuras, hidden in the forests, cut their escape routes, being killed all the warriors of the Konolards.
After that bloody victory, Tulkhut occuped the lands of the defeated, annexing them into the Dark Legion of Demons.
He returned, 48 years later, to Morod, finally, with victory, becoming the governor of Entartea.
Soon, the Ozcuras will become a quite popular expendable and cheap soldier among the demon lords of central Polforia. Tree of peoples of Aiers

Among the forces of the Dark Legion, aside of the demons, their allies and vassals, and as well the breeded -or forged- servants, there where many nameless monsters -or creatures with their own names-, who where created in different, unknown ways, and had hideous and terrible apparences.
Monsters of flesh and bones, or of metal and oil, dirt or stone. Some as feral, twisted animals, and others as lifeless golems, these monsters had various purposes, but none peaceful one.
After the First War of the Power, when the great demon fortresses where sacked by the human-elven alliance and the Empire of the Whide Axis, many monsters and creatures escaped or where realeased from the ruins, and would plague the lands...
Ogres (feminine singular: ogress, plural: ogresses) are beings which are usually large, hideous, humanoid monsters and are most often described as feeding on human beings -adult-eaters or specifically child-eaters-. Ogres often have a large head, abundant hair and beard, a voracious appetite, and a strong body, but physical apparence may vary greatly, from very human looking to one more monster one.
In general, the ogre stereotype is of peoples with low inteligence, violent, vengenful, playful and strong, but susperticious and cowards. This of course is a stereotype, but is widely accepted and fit the description of many ogres. The ogresses fit in general the description as well, but they seem to be a bit more inteligent, less violent and less pernicious to other peoples.
They aren't very social creatures -as isn't unheard of adult ogres eating the ogre childs of other couples- so often they live around familiar groups, and while they don't have a very developed material culture they love riches and luxury, and it isn't unheard they mate members of other races of the ogre family -such as trolls and ciclops-, goblinoids -orcs and goblins-, humans and giants, trying to hide their race and pass for the one of their couple.
Some ogres are very similar to humans in apparence, and sometimes they had hidden a tail between their clothes to pass for humans. A frecuent way to recognice an ogress with human aparence was to see what they wear: they often weared too fancy clothes for human women who move and live in forests and mountains.
In their homes, the ogres try to gather gold and treasures, and they allways where heathens, rejecting human religions -unlike other fantasy races, who slowly adopted some human religions.- But due the susperticious fear of the ogres to all the sobrenatural and divine, often they avoided temples, bells and religious simbols, used as talismans against them.
Often ogres kidnaped people, to eat them, or to make them slaves -specially children and women who had given birth-. Other ogre practice -which seem, when a ogre mother feared other ogre could try to eat or kill her little ogre children- was to change a baby of other race for one of their own, so the little ogre was raised by parents of other race.
For the Dark Legion of Demons, it wasn't easy for the demons to put the ogres in their service, as they lived dispersed and due their associal tendences. But in the end, either the demonic religion, promises of luxury and gains -and quotas of children and prisoners- drafted many ogres to serve the demon lords.
At least, until the demons raised and breeded their own ogres, ogres of war like the Hokke ogres.
original text: : This was done for my serie of drawings of "The People of Aiers", of one of the Ogres.
I want to colour this one, but I have two versions of it, and I'm not sure which one I prefeer: the one with and without tail.
I wanted to depict with her the more human-looking ogres. And then I added a tail, but I'm not sure.
Without the tail, she s too human looking. But in some of the old fairy tales -of our own world, not my own fiction- and stories, sometimes ogres and trolls where described that they looked just like humans, except minor differences:
example from wikipedia, as I'm lazy of looking for some better pages: "However, trolls are also attested as looking much the same as human beings, without any particularly hideous appearance about them, but where they differ is in that they live far away from human habitation, and, unlike the rå and näck—who are attested as "solitary beings", trolls generally have "some form of social organization". Where they differ, Lindow adds, is that they are not Christian, and those that encounter them do not know them. Therefore trolls were in the end dangerous, regardless of how well they may get along with Christian society, and trolls display a habit of bergtagning ('kidnapping'; literally "mountain-taking") and overrunning a farm or estate."
In Aiers, often trolls have tails. Not ogres. But my trolls are as well, more beast-looking. So what to choose? Her being an ogress, and use the non-tail version to colour? Or her being a troll -or having troll blood/mixed ancestors- and use the tail?

Nagas are a lesser kind of demons, an artificial creation of the High Demon Lords to serve their purposes. Originally, they where more closer to other lesser demon servants and golems and lifeless creations, until was breeded a new kind of Naga by the demons, closely related with the Tlannts.
They are originary from the Demonach Island, but where extended by the demons of the Dark Legion across the shores of the sea of Tok and Caritz.
In my world of Aiers, the Naga's are one of the creations by the demons of the dark legion. Because of this, there are several types of Naga, being divided in two big groups: the ones who are close to creations and golems, while others -more related to the Merfolk or Tlannt- become a race -breeded by demons- on their own.
Since the first apparition of the demons in Aiers, in the Mount Satanmet in the Island Demonach, there have been winged demons. Normally, the demons prefeered bat-like, or dragon-like wings. As well, there where some feathered demons.
As well, there where myths about angels. And after the demons appeared -or the creatures that humans called like the demons of their religions-, many thought there where to exist as well celestial, divine creatures.
There had been demons, who possed or presented themselves as angels, but no real angels had to be found.
The Battleborn, -or called "Battle Angels"-, weren't really Angels.
After the end of the First War of the Power, the venerable Empire of Whide Axis of the High Elves became obsessed with demons: or specifically, with demonic manį manipulation, magic, and their advanced crafts: the possibility of creating life -or a sort of life-.
The Battleborn were then, a bit like the fairies of the city of the Wizards of the Coast of Dahl'Aran: artificially crafted creatures.
Studying demon magic, crafts, and the Soul Stones of the demons, the Wizards of the Coast of Dahl'Aran created the Battleborns: Done from a soul shard of a Bazrrod demon lord soulstone: A living weapon, done from demons, to combat demons, if they where even to raise again from the darkness they where exiled to.
And so where crafted the Battleborn, about 60 years after the End of the First War of the Power (2283 a.a.H). Created from demon shards -as the first vampires, succubi, werewolves and elemental demons- they where as well, a type of demon.
However, they where thought by the elves, other creatures -and themselves- as something different, of a different nature.
The High Elves wizards of Dahl'Aran crafted the first Battleborn after themselves: of light skin, light eyes, light hair and pointed ears. But as vampire, werewolf and succubi demons, the Car'Hadan could have descendance -and they did so-, which will differentiate them from some mere "golems" or other elven creations.
Physically, the first battleborn where similar to high elves -larger and stronger thought, created for battle-. However, they where capable of retracting their wings: The idea seems to have been taken from the shapeshifting habilities of werewolves. The process wasn't painless.
These where featered, white wings. -later, there where Battleborn of the next generations, with other colours of wings, and some that lost the capability of retracting their wings, and some that didn't had wings at all: this mostly due mixed parentage-.
Being created for battle, the Battleborn have a special thrive for battle and the battlefield, and in general, they seemed to be a bit inestable emotionally, being said that was the conflict of their dual nature. They loved to eat and drink -and due the energy they needed, they did so in large quantities-, and had almost an instintive hate for demons of all kinds, as they where to be hunters.
The Battleborn where few, and mostly only located in northwestern Ushaenor. However, while there where still garrisons of the Whide Axis on Demonach, to watch the exile of the Great Demon Lords, or in Polforia -garrisons that some decades later will be retreated, and their possitions abandoned-, there where sent some Battleborn to Aels, and from there some moved to Zarhuy and Hieyoks.
For the time of the Second War of the Power, the few battleborn did played a role in several campaigns. Still by then an irregular sighting, many times their apparition was seen as a divine sign among the christian humans to fight demons. But as later in the war -and in the third war of the power- they found out them not to be of divine nature, the human entusiasm for them vanished quickly, and had a more practical approach -the need to have flying allies to counter flying units of the Dark Legion-.
Gunn Oddsdottir of Mildred, the Battleborn here represented, is a character originaly from , as redesigned with these clothes by :devLa_ela:
I hadn't give much of a thought to her backstory -being a *kanyiko's original character- but I think this errant Battleborn in disguise, roaming across Polforia just before the Second War of the Power, is a second generation. More than that? I will need to speak with Kanyiko about it!
