Guided Meditation -
Shepard and Thane
The captain's quarters are far off from the engineering deck, but I can still hear the hum of the engines if I shut the music off and listen to the quiet. Most nights, it's enough to get me to sleep.
I'll lay back and watch the stars crawl by through the skylight, or watch the fish flit around in their tanks. Slowly, it becomes harder and harder to keep my eyes open. I'll roll over so the glow of the fish tank doesn't penetrate the darkness behind my closed eyes as I drift off to sleep.
The darkness is overwhelming. If I squint really, really hard I can just barely make out the pinpricks of distant stars. But it's so hard to keep my eyes open. I'm cold. Freezing cold, so cold I feel like my bones will implode and my skin will tear as it shrivels and tightens and I open my mouth to scream.
I can't. I open my mouth, try to
Raise Your Glass HighControl? No. She couldn't. It was hard enough converting the heretic geth... even the Reapers, horrible as they were, didn't deserve to have all choice taken from them. And it had been what they wanted The Illusive Man to do-- who knew what would happen if she tried taking them? Things could very well become so much worse, what if she reached the same decision as the Catalyst one day, and simply began this all over again?Raise Your Glass High3 years ago in Sci-Fi More Like This
Destruction was equally unthinkable. If there was one thing Shepard would not let herself be remembered for, it would be a mass genocide the likes of which the galaxy had never seen before. Killing the geth when they had just achieved peace, just achieved true sentience; killing EDI when she had shown just how human 'artificial intelligence' could be. There was also the confirmation that each Reaper was indeed the last remains of an ancient species. Even after all they had done, she couldn't destroy the little that remained of those people.
All that left was what t

The cool rush of water over her sensitive skin woke her, eyes of darkest chocolate opening to gaze at the flickering surface above.
She sat on the gritty ocean floor, pale hands sifting through sand as she examined her surroundings.
It was dark and different, this new life she'd been born into. There was no fear, only curiosity. She did not feel alone in this darkness, there was a soothing presence that wrapped around her, embraced her, and completed her in ways no words could ever hope to describe.
Crimson ribbons floated about her shoulders, her red hair flowing with the currents of the water as she moved to stand.
Gone were her battle scars, gone were the marks of the harsh life she had lived. She was born anew, fresh and young and oh so sweet.
She moved through the water, drifting with the currents as she remembered. Memories flowed from her fingers as faces appeared and she smiled, remembering them all.
She tried to remember what had brought her here, it was important a cause

This is my Shepard (Kara's) reply to Thane's letter sent to her after his death
(Which I cried so much for afterwards) Sorry if it's a little long...
I don't even know why I'm bothering writing this damned letter, closure maybe? No I could never have closure when it comes to us.
Garrus told me to write this, said that it may help me to move on or something stupid, I'll kick his turian ass later.
I know that you'll never read this letter but I guess there's a connection between us still, via me writing this, I still remember that moment when that son of a bitch stabbed you, I was so angry truthfully I still am. Garrus carved your name into the wall, a couple of places below Mordins, I wonder if he has collected any data from those sea shells yet..

To All Things, An EndShepard looked out the large open shutter on the Normandy as Joker glided through space. She couldn't believe it was finally over. They had destroyed the Reapers. The casualties had been horrific. She had lost countless friends and colleagues, and entire races had been decimated. The rebuilding would take years. She took a deep breath to steady herself. She had never before faced such insurmountable odds, but she had done it. They had done it, together as a team. She allowed herself a little smile as she stared out the window. To All Things, An End3 years ago in Sci-Fi More Like This

I've tried contacting you since you left for Earth. I recently heard it was under attack and I'm not sure if you're even still alive, I'm currently on the Presidium at the Citadel, I've heard rumours that the Normandy had docked, please if you're alive come and find me.
Kara read and re read that message, she couldn't believe it, Thane had survived the initial invasion, the Normandy had recently docked at the Citadel and without a moment's hesitation she headed for the Presidium.
As she walked through the streets into the main shopping area she looked around, sure enough she saw Thane observing the views of the Citadel; her heart was beating at a mile a minute, it had been over six months since she last saw her husband; her mind was telling her to just run up to him and jump on him but then she thought that she should at least try to stay professional despite how desperate she was to be in his arms again.

Commander Shepard did not just look half dead, she was almost dead. Worse yet, the badly needed ambulance hadn't arrived.
No matter how blood-smeared, dirty, scratched, wounded, or, in short, a horrible sight the Commander was, all that mattered to Samantha was to be right beside Shepard. The person she cared so much for and loved so deeply.
Even a hulking James Vega couldn't stop the young woman. Samantha just shoved him away and rushed to the fallen Commander.
In her trembling arms, Samantha cradled Shepard's burnt and bloody body. Her armor was half-destroyed and the underlying fabric was partly burnt into the skin. Skin that was so pale, like a corpse. "Must be the heavy blood loss," Vega had told her.
Amidst the stillness of the smoldering ruins of London around them, the low breathing of the Commander was all that could be heard. If she hadn't moved her head towards Samantha to lock green eyes on to tear-stained brown ones, Samantha woul

Apparently, the Armax Arsenal Arena VIP area of the Silversun Casino hadn’t received Commander Jane Shepard’s memo about the dress code. Even at the late morning hour, the VIP lounge had a sprinkling of the galaxy’s hot, young elite milling around and dressed to kill.
And then there was Comms Specialist Samantha Traynor. Hanging out in the corner in sweat pants and a t-shirt like a bloody idiot who’d just rolled out of bed. Probably because she had just rolled out of bed, mostly due to a dangling promise of an epic brunch with her girlfriend.

What the Hell were we thinking going after the Reapers? What made us think we would be able to stop them when countless civilizations before ours fell?
Before London, I found myself thinking this more and more. But then I also started thinking of everything we've accomplished. When Saren turned his back on the Council, they just couldn't see it. They just couldn't believe that one of their own would turn against them. I'd call it human nature but
We opened their eyes. We made them see that Saren was a traitor. It wasn't easy, but through each other's help and support, we proved him a threat to the Galaxy. We stopped him. Not only that, we killed a Reaper. Together, we put an end to Saren's treachery, and destroyed Sovereign. It wasn't without sacrifice, but we sowed t

The grieving doctor doesn't bother with an umbrella, instead letting the rain wash over her skin, mixing with her tears. She begins her slow walk towards the large group of people crowded underneath a wide awning, when suddenly a hand grips her shoulder reassuringly, and the rain stops. The words rang over and over again in Shepard's head. Replaying like her favourite song, reassuring her and letting his voice caress her eardrums.
But now, those words were nothing but a curse. Thane had kept his promise, hell he had done more than keep it. When she needed him most, even though there was the chance he would die he jumped in and saved her.
He did what he could for her, his last love.

She heard him chuckle, "I just brought you tea Commander."
She sat up, brushing her ebony hair out of her eyes, "Tea?"

Shepard’s neck was aching for the time spent peering over the dozens of documents loaded on the terminal in the Captain’s cabin. It was certainly not a new duty for the Commander, but back in the days of the Normandy SR-1 Pressly used to sort out almost all the paperwork. And when Cerberus was running the show, Miranda had whatever paperwork was required by the Illusive Man under her own control. After that, the Reapers had not left any time for paperwork…
But after their victory, the peacetime fleet apparently returned to care more for paperwork than for combat readiness. Of course, Shepard knew better than complaining about peacetime. Not after the galaxy dodged at the very last moment the Reaper menace… The memory of the Reapers trading hammer blows with the fleets over Earth and the grotesquely ravaged humans, turians or batarians turned into killing machines was still too close to find the regulations of the peacetime fleet boring.

"To watch you play with antiques?" Liara added, walking around and looked the machine up and down with disinterest.
Why Miranda had called him, Liara, and Kaidan up here was beyond him, but she insisted it had to do with Shepard. Didn't it always? Shepard had been dead after she took control of the Reapers. Life moved on without her, but the friends she left behind still missed her.
"No, to meet someone," Miranda answered cryptically. Well didn't that help explain everything.
"From where?" Kaidan remarked.
"Not where, when," With that final statement, Miranda finished the data and the machine lit up, engulfing the room in a bright light.
