She breathed very hardly. Her feet began to hurt and the side stitches get heavier with every step she took. She starred panicly in the direct front of her, bit her teeth together and gave a last push to her body and began to sprint to the little hole in the wall in front of her. Behind herself she could her the loud steps, which are came closer every second but she made it; with a last jump forward she felt into the hole and no second too late; directly a big vibration convulsed her and she threw herself on the bottom and pressed the eyes as close as she could. She took her hands above her head and sniveled anxiously. Was that a bad nightmare? No that was real, but who could that be? She heard the loud noises behind the entry of the hole, she was there and waited for her, but here she was save, but how long? She began to rise herself and hold her head. A silent sigh

The warrior stared at the Naga, part of him was entranced by her beauty, but he quickly tossed those thoughts aside. He had learned enough from his friend about the Nagas, but those people needed help. He brought down his goggles and took out his sword. "Well, here goes nothing," he said to himself and he threw a rock at the naga, it got her attention.

Kevin was not what you'd call normal, then again not many people on deviant art were. He was now 16 years old, 5 foot 5 and for the most part in decent shape. He was pretty smart, but not really motivated in school. He was looking over different stories of adventures of fictional people. That's what he wanted, a life of adventure. Kevin was a shy person and a dreamer, nothing exciting happens where he lives, that's why he plays video games, its not real, but it is an adventure. His nickname was Monkey, because monkeys were free spirits and that's what he wanted to be.

This is intended as a continuing project. I'll be adding to it, and editing it for greater clarity, in response to your comments and questions. So if something is left out, or not clear, please let me know. Eventually, this may turn into a proper tutorial, but I'm starting out small, so that people who are asking questions don't have to wait until that possibly distant time. And so people can tell me what they actually need to know.
Goggles -- I don't carve unless I'm wearing some sort of eye protection, usually magnifying goggles (because I'm getting old and can't focus up close anymore), but sometimes non-magnifying ones. Chunks of stuff can fly about, and you don't want them in your eyes.
Respirator or dust mask -- Dust is not good for your lungs, and power carving can produce lots of dust. The dust of bone, antler, and shell is very bad; it can _permanently_ clog parts of your lungs. Many stone and

Hi there deviantart guinea pigs! 8D I'm preparing an outline for a panel at A-kon! I have vast experience attending conventions and displaying my work. What I've written here are my total thoughts on how to do your first artist alley. It has not been made into an outline yet. What I'm needing is feedback, questions, and conversations about this information so I can decide what I might add or take away from this discussion before creating a final outline and hand out! Please help me! I'd really appreciate any comments you feel ready to leave! I am not really a comfortable public speaker, I only feel capable once I have prepared material extensively for the occasion.
Why to do an artist alley:
AA can turn a nice profit for a lot of people, but more often than not, First Con Ever is a learning experience more than a bountiful retail extravaganza. But before you shy away from losing money, consider that you'll probably pay more for a single college class and

Nunca debemos olvidar qu

*Well, I have to now*, he thought, frowning at the small exess mass of his stomach. He rubbed it thoughtfully as he sat before his computer, wondering what should be done. That's when his doorbell rang.
Even as he was getting up, the door slammed open, and a cheery figure almost literally bounced in.
"Sorry about that, I just couldn't wait for you to haul your backside to the door, so I let myself in!"
The figure, a girl of curvy proportions leaped on Jake, giving him in a tight hug.
"Don't worry, I placed the extra key in that"- She rolled her eyes sarcastically-"Super secret place. Really, Jake, anyone can find it under the rug. You should keep it somewhere safer."

El arte de la autopromocionEl arte de la autopromocion4 years ago in Editorial More Like This

Leroy was troubled. His inventions had hit a slump, he hardly felt the need to go outside, and overall he was just... tired. Really, he'd just been having an off day. Well, more like an off week. Or two. He didn't know what he was doing with his life, and just started doubting himself.
The young man held his head and sighed, staring out his window at the night sky. The moon was a waxing gibbous, piercing through the shady city sky and clouds. He just couldn't get to sleep. He felt drained and tired for the entirety of the day and now that he finally got to bed, nothing.
Leroy groaned and sat up. A hand went over his mouth as he yawned. He got out of bed, shivering as his feet touched the cold floor.
The young boy scratched at his head as he went over to his kitchen preparing a glass of water. Under the bright kitchen light he sat at the small table and drank the wat

Shino liked exploring. He loved it so much that he spent every holiday and free day out somewhere, wandering through a forest or a more or less hidden valley.
Today he had driven to a small village, called Riverwood, near a deep forest. He had rented a room in the village inn. Then he had packed a backpack and went out into the fields on his way to the forest.
As always he had taken no map or other orientating item with him. His friends called him mad and crazy, because he did that, but he thought it just made things more exiting.
Over the years he had gathered a lot of experience in the field and he was able to navigate almost any territory, without a map or other help. Because of that, he wasnt worried a bit about finding his way back home into the village. Until now he had always been lucky.
If only he had known that his luck would fail him today
He walked through the forest, taking smaller paths and not sticking t

I cannot make myself forget our conversations

It might have been better if we'd never met.
It certainly would have been easier.

Ah, the Mary Sue. We can't cobble together a truly comprehensive description of what they are, exactly, but we can agree on one thing: an annoying, 'perfect' character who, through a general lack of flaws and character development, is excruciating to sit through and often makes us gnash our teeth, tear our hair, and reach for the back button. This nefarious creature can be measured and detected, so let's all grab our magnifying glasses and get classifying.
This is a subjective subject; a trait that drives one person right up the wall might fail to get any reaction from another. As you go through the list, count up the points. Each trait will register from 1-5 points, with 1 being a mild thing and 5 being a serious infraction. If a trait is not addressed at all in the story the character comes from, or is totally unknown, just ignore it. And don't worry about racking up pointsthe de-Suifier part of the test ought to restore some balance to

I'm going to try and briefly cover World Building specifically for Fantasy and Science Fiction (though it will apply in general to any setting), both major and minor Characters, and some basics of Timeline here. I am not going to walk you step by step through how to write your own story, but you should (hopefully) get some useful tips out of this.
I never used to organize my novels before I started writing. I have so many stories in my head, I would just pick one and start writing. I didn't have trouble keeping to the same details of a given character because I knew them so well. But after taking such a long break from writing Missing Puzzle Pieces, I really needed to do some serious work. I don't remember all the details I had in my head back when I started... in fact, I've completely forgotten the original ending. For those of you who don't know my story, which starts
