The last day of my trip and I was able to spend my morning alone at the Green River Overlook. I knew of an area that had an even better view that the standard platforms so to them I went, waiting for sunrise.
Truly a humbling experience, realizing how small you are in all of this vastness. Great last morning before heading out of the area and back home.
This was shot at Saddlebag Lake Resort, CA. In the Sierra Mountains, this probably has to be my favorite shot so far in m collection! I was driving around sunrise to meet up with my photography group in Yosemite and saw how nice the river looked. So I got out of the car and ran down to the river bank, found a nice spot for a photo, and took it. View of Lake Tahoe from the Rubicon Trail. At this time (June, 2008), there were over 900 wildfires burning in the state of California, making for hazy conditions everywhere. This was the clearest day of the week.
