Faring far and wide ,
His sword by side ;
Never resting elsewhere than the wild ,
Light footed and keen eyed.
His only friend was beast and bird ,
Tree and stone his only home ;
The blood of Numenor in him was all but gone.
Proud and grim ,
All in one ;
He answered to noone...

about the sound of your voice, of the
about the catch between one word
and the next
I wanted to write a poem about the way my hands were so cold
the cigarette burned down and I never felt it, the angry words
were my bones,
I wanted to tell you we are always silenced
like a first kiss, the tentative touch,
of the fumbling hands, the dark
and how if you lived a little closer I would
kiss you properly, the sweetness of words
the morning newspapers
the cigarette lost in the
ashtray, sending smoke signals up
to guide us home

I love Christmas even more.
With candy canes, presents and magic galore.
Because of the Tooth Fairy,
I love brushing my teeth,
I rinse, I repeat and floss underneath.
Because of Bunnymund,
Easter is great,
Colourful eggs and on a wonderful date.
Because of the Sandman,
My dreams are so dear,
I fly so high with the moon so near.
Because of Jack Frost,
Winter is a breeze,
Snow on the ground and no leaves on the trees.
Because of Pitch,
The Nightmare King,
I'm absolutely scared of nearly everything.
Because of the Guardians,
From New Years to Christmas Eve,
Even though I get older,
I still believe.

The daughter of life
His eyes dark cold and icy
Hers light and airy
Light flickers through
Enhancing her innocence
Darkness surrounds him
Shielding his heart
What happens when these two cross?
The king of death and the daughter of life
Does she wither and wait
to accept her fate
or does she warm his shielded heart?
What happens when these two fall in love?
Can happiness reside where light cannot?
or will it slowly flicker away until it is no more
and give into the darkness around her?
They say even the smallest bit of light
Will shine in the darkness
Until it finally gives in
and flickers away
So what will happen
When she finally gives up
and fades away
Will he want her then?
or toss her away?
No one knows
Not one can say
What will happen
When the daughter of life
House on my HeadI grew a house on my head.House on my Head2 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
I populated it with animals:
a mouse for a housekeeper,
a lizard in the kitchen cooking eggs,
a butler wolf whistling and saying 'sir',
a chinchilla to sweep rooms' corners,
a giraffe wiping windows,
a black Labrador pup to clear the chimneys.
The house is old fashioned but it runs to time.
A sloth winds the clocks;
a badger delves the vegetable patch.
Everyone gets on fabulously
and will eat eggs together at breakfast,
gossiping about the awful state of my head:
how the tubes in my brain need scrubbing out,
you can tell because the plumbing gurgles
and the lights in the attic flicker at unexpected hours.
The landlord, a snub-nosed monkey, is convinced
that nuggets of knowledge are lodged
in the mulch of my swampy mind.
He sends search parties of ants scurrying
down my ear holes, dredging the depths.
He thinks I'm a goldmine to be gutted.
I'm with the mouse. She says my taste isn't bad,
though for the carpets she wouldn't have gone with green;
and the journey

The chill in the breeze,
The frost on the ground,
Crisp on a moonlit night.
A young boy's figure
Glides through the streets,
His breath a clouded fog.
Eyes like crystals,
Hair like snow,
He walks with staff in hand.
Alone in the world,
Unseen by all,
He strides like a ghost through the town.
Young children seen
Through a window pane,
Bask in the glow of the hearth.
Unseen goes the boy
Who stares unnoticed and lost
At the joy before his eyes.
A tentative move,
A soft hand to the glass,
Which freezes beneath his touch.
He turns away,
To the dark of the night
And raises his head to the sky.
A tear flows unseen,
Silent and soft,
To be dashed on the frozen earth.
Calling winds forth,
Around him to swirl,
His feet lift off from the ground.
Invisible and alone,
He flies higher until
He melds with the sky and the stars.
"I want to be seen
And I want to be heard."
Only one hears this desperate boy's cry.
The Man in the Moon
Stares down on the scene,
At the lost and forgotten child.
Meiosis RapAs meiosis begins, replication occurs,Meiosis Rap5 years ago in Songs & Lyrics More Like This
Sister chromatids form, and they appear a blur.
The first prophase comes next; the chromosomes condense.
They become visible and place you in suspense.
The homologous pairs cross over during this.
They do exchange their genes--this just cannot be missed.
The nuclear envelope disappears at the end,
At the same time as the spindle fibers extend.
Metaphase one starts now; chromosomes assemble,
Across the cell's center, and this phase is nimble.
During anaphase one the spindle fibers pull,
These homologous pairs apart like power tools.
Telophase one starts up; cytokinesis gears,
A nuclear envelope may or may not appear.
The cell membrane pinches into two new pieces,
The chromosomes become haploid (process ceases).
Then comes meiosis two, unlike meiosis one,
Replication does not occur--it is not done!
While prophase two lasts, the chromosomes condense,
Spindle fibers appear; nucleus is dispensed.
Metaphase two gets on as chromosomes line up,

not seen by man nor beast
And yet under all this
Still he cries
Crying to the moon
Crying to his chooser
He wants to be seen
Heeded by man and beast
Seen by the moon
Seen by the people
Returned to him
Returned at great cost
Through fear and darkness
Believes in him
Believes and sees him
Seen by the children

Strong and brave and fair;
Fierce they are and proud,
Tall and dark of hair;
Filled with passion and iron of will,
A two edged sword this can be.
Never do they turn aside from their propose,
From no enemy do they flee.
Ache their hands do to craft and create,
Beloved of the Smith are they.
Burn their minds do for knowledge,
But into folly they sometimes stray.
Lovers of hills and open lands,
The Watchtower their first home.
Many other glorious kingdoms did they build,
Seven High Kings they have known.

Fear is the Shadows that race the light
Pound across the world on the moonless night.
That hunts down the dreams in its way
Tearing loose the control of the reins.
It does not stop when you shout
But continues on behind the hounds,
Onward through the chase, no relaxing its grip,
Or down in the dark – You fall – You slip.

I believe in lands somewhere over the rainbow
I believe in worlds hidden under the rabbit hole
I believe in kingdoms on the other side of the wardrobe
I believe in enchanted forests where animals talk in riddles
I believe in palaces where wizards entertain immortal kings
I believe in
in the magic and wonder that only a child's eyes can see
in the universes hopes and dreams can create with a single thought
I believe in everything that so many say are imaginary; in everything that so many people scoff at and call me fanciful and immature for believing in
However, I simply say to them:
"I just still have my imagination, is all."

soft and whimsy as the dusk.
Tongues painted passion-

How To Ask Someone To Let You Love ThemI think you keep secrets under your skinHow To Ask Someone To Let You Love Them2 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
like trees keep rings and do not know it,
like the sea teems,
like dark and quiet space
keeps every ray of light
the stars whispered to one another
when they were still young
and dying to make love.
I think you keep secrets in you
like the desert keeps sands,
like sleep keeps dreams,
like cities keep sleepless people
and people looking for sleepless people
to fall asleep with.
I think you keep secrets
like secrets like to be kept,
and I want to learn them all.

Wings Of Light
Upon me is the last dawn
Faded away has the last dusk
I leave behind all of the rights and wrongs
I don't deserve an afterlife that is also rough
Mesmerized in deep suspense
As I await the final arrival
My tears become so intense
These last moments of hope are vital
Allow me to break away
Accept the toll of my undying faith
I was careless as I fell
Mocking life itself
Every secret I held
Defined a broken side of myself
An inner slaughter I could not defend
A one-sided war that I could not fight against
My downfall is what I didn't want to prevent
I always lusted after the idea of my final descent
Because I knew that in the end I would ascend
All I can really do is live this divided life as best as I can
I realized that the only thing in perfection is being broken
And the only way to get rid of that is to wipe out my existence
Shine down and shine true
I will no longer be powerless
You don't know how long I've been waiting for you
