Sonic characters that didn't make the listsBasically, I'm going to list Sonic characters that I was planning to put on my overrated/underrated lists but didn't. Either because they weren't as overrated/underrated as any other characters I listed or I couldn't really think of much to say about them. Also these are all my opinions so don't get upset.
She was supposed to be in my underrated Sonic characters list because she does get hated alot especially from Classic fans. Ironically, Amy was introduced during the Classic era. But she's pretty well liked as well so I decided it was unnecessary.
Scourge the Hedgehog
Originally, supposed to be in my overrated list. Like Shadow and SatAM Robotnik, he's thought of as ultimate badass that can beat the shit out of anyone. There are other people who consider him overrated. These lists should be based on my own opinions not other people's and I don't consider him as overrated as Shadow or SatAM Robotnik. So he didn't make it. As for the whole Sonic recolor stuff. He is Sonic from
Sonic's different continuitiesOk, well some people get totally confused about the canon. Alot of people say AoStH is connected with Sonic X or Sonic X is connected with the games so I'm here to tell you all the differences between all the canon. SEGA Sonic AKA Modern/Classic Sonic, the Blue Blur(by fans), the Fastest Thing Alive(by Jet the Hawk)
The Sonic that we all know and love. He lives on a cartoony and fantasy version of Earth and was born on Christmas Island with unknown origins as no one knows who his family is or if he has a family at all. He loves to travel the world in search of adventure, he likes to hang with his friends Tails(his best friend), Amy(his so-called "destined lover") and Knuckles(his friendly rival), and he hates to stay at one place for a long time though he finds the time to relax in peace until Dr. Ivo Robotnik(who Sonic calls Eggman) arrives to ruin his peace. He apparently also likes to gamble(as

The Ten Commandments to being a “True” Sonic fan
1. Thou shall have owned a SEGA Genesis in their lifetime
2. Thou shall treat the Genesis games as holy items
3. Thou shall hateth all the console games released from 2004-2009
4. Thou shall complain about Sonic’s eye color
5. Thou shall hateth all the characters from Post-Genesis Era
6. Thou shall whine about everything SEGA does
7. Thou shall make YouTube videos on how much Modern Sonic sucks
8. Thou shall bug the crap out of SEGA about the classics coming back
9. Thou shall worship the 19 years and still running Sonic fanfiction
10. Thou shall not realize that Classic Sonic and Modern Sonic are the same person
Why can't Sonic fans live peacefully? It's not hard to admit the Sonic fanbase is pretty effed up as of now, but why can't we all just be friends. Simple, because we keep fighting over our petty differences and separating into small groups. Sane Sonic fans, classic Sonic fantards, recolor artists, Sonic shippers, whatever! Classic fantards should really get over the past and accept everyone as a Sonic fan instead of calling themselves the "TRUU FANS OF TEH ORIGINAL". Sonic shippers should stop debating over who the hell gets Sonic and his love and all that mushy crap and instead learn to respect each other's opinions and views. Recolor artists.............(sighs) try to be more original when it comes to making your fan characters, I try really hard not to point out the obvious. Anyways, I want fans of whatever "breed" to stop grabbing at each other's throats for stupid reasons and become friends. Who cares if someone likes "SONAMEH" or "TEH TRUU CLASSIK AMERIKUN SAWNIK" or "MY COMPLETELY ORIGNAL CHARAKTER", we all must leaWhy can't Sonic fans live peacefully?2 years ago in Personal More Like This

What if Sonic really is getting a reboot? As you all know, rumors have speculated a reboot on the Sonic franchise in 2014. This is a list of things I want for the new game continuity if the reboot ever becomes a reality. Whether it's his origins or family background or even morale, please respect my opinions. Your opinions are welcomed......What if Sonic really is getting a reboot?2 years ago in Personal More Like This
I think he should be an orphan, it'll be pretty awkward to have Sonic going home to his mommy and daddy after each adventure he has.
It should be a mystery like it is right now.
A male of course.....
Maybe 15 or 16, as long as he's a teenager, and not an adult or a kid.
I kinda want a healthy mix of both his classic and modern design.
Whatever new power or move that SEGA gives Sonic is fine by me, as long as it's executed well in gameplay. Of course, he should keep his famed speed.
Tails, Amy, and Knuckles should be re-introduced. I want Tails and Amy to be to be close to Sonic's age, but Knuckles to be the olde
My top 10 best Sonic gamesI decided to make a list of some of the best Sonic games in the franchise out of my opinion. Don't whine about a certain game being in the list or not being in the list.My top 10 best Sonic games2 years ago in Personal More Like This
10. Sonic Rush
A fast paced 2D Sonic game. It brought us great level design, fast paced platforming, good graphics(for a DS) and the music was awesome. Despite being a good game, I find it a bit too fast for my likings, I can barely see what the hell is going on!
9. Sonic Adventure 2
After the first Sonic Adventure's success, a sequel needed to be made. Sonic Adventure 2 has recieved much praise from fans and is typically known as the "best Sonic game EVER". While I highly disagree, it's still a good game, the controls are great, the music is awesome, but the platforming is scarce for Sonic and Shadow's levels. Like I said, it's a good game but it's very overrated.
8. Sonic Advance
Practically an updated version of the classics. It returned Sonic back to his 2D roots and it almost felt like playing the Genesis classics
Things I like to see in a Sonic gameThis is a list of things I like to see in a Sonic game and hope to see again in future titles.Things I like to see in a Sonic game2 years ago in Personal More Like This
-Cartoony graphics and designs
This was seen in the classics and the recent Sonic games. This is totally welcomed as it takes me away from reality to have fun in a completely different world.
-Some creative level design
I've seen alot of creativeness in Sonic Generations' level design. I played the original City Escape and the Generations version and I have to say, Generations has the superior City Escape design. I really hope the next Sonic game has some good level design.
This was present in Sonic Colors. The wisps represented the animal friends, the capsules in the end of the levels represented the capsules in the classic levels, the classic badniks were present and upgraded, and nature itself was present in the form of the various planets that you visit in the game which had factories built over it by Robotnik. This is what Sonic should be about, saving nature and the ani
Why do I like Sonic more than Mario? It isn't easy being a Sonic fan, both in real life and the internet, because most people prefer Mario and his more successful games. While I have to admit Mario has more successful main games and spin-offs than Sonic, I still prefer Sonic. Why? Well here are my reasons. Why do I like Sonic more than Mario?2 years ago in Personal More Like This
While Mario and Legend of Zelda were close to assuring me as a full on Nintendo fan, I got hooked up with Sonic 3 and Knuckles. It was so fun to play something so different from other slower platformers. After playing S3K, I was officially a Sonic fan.
A little bit of pity
While I was here in the US having the time of my life with Sonic's games, back in Japan, Sonic wasn't doing so well. It took me a decade later to find out Sonic wasn't exactly huge in his native land. That's when I started feeling bad for the little guy. Mario is extremely popular in Japan and poor Sonic just seems ignored and neglected.
So many bad Sonic games and insane fans have made me want to leave Sonic and SEGA for good, but I j
A quote with no logic....Note: This is not the exact quote, I wrote it out of complete memory as I could not find where I saw it.A quote with no logic....2 years ago in Personal More Like This
"True Sonic fans: Likes AoStH, SatAM, Sonic Underground, Classic Sonic, hates the new Sonic or new Sonic games"
"Bad Sonic fans: Likes the new Sonic games and the new Sonic look"
To be fair, the person who said this wasn't all that bad of a person like others can be, but he/she is very misguided. Just because a certain someone likes the classics more than the new games does not mean they are not a "True Sonic fan", nor does it make them any better than other Sonic fans. Also, liking the newer Sonic games or his current design doesn't make them a "Bad Sonic fan" nor would it make them lower than other Sonic fans. I really hate when people agree with this logic, it's just unbelievably stupid.
My thoughts on Sonic's english voice actorsI know I said I wasn't going to talk about this but after I did the one with Tails and Eggman I decided I should give my thoughts on every other character's voice actor So, why should I leave out Sonic? Plus, there are some characters I really want to talk about like Amy, Cream, and Shadow. My thoughts on Sonic's english voice actors2 years ago in Personal More Like This
Most people known him best as Steve Urkel from Family Matters but most Sonic fans remember him best as being the first voice of Sonic. He's the only actor to appear in all three DiC cartoons. Very good voice. It really sounds like what I think Sonic was like in the Genesis games. I'm also glad the super serious SatAM kept his cockiness. He's also going to reprise the role in a fanfilm. When I first heard his voice in the trailer I thought White didn't age pretty well but I've gotten used to it. My favorite line from him have to be: "I'm up, over, and gone.", "Gotta Juice.", and "That's no good."
He voiced Sonic in the OVA. Most people say he makes Sonic sound like he's Brit
I Still Have HopeThank You, Heavenly Father, for the things You open my eyes to. Lord, I pray that You may forgive and bless those who have wronged me in the past, and may You also forgive me for any wrongs that I might have committed to anyone unknowingly. I know that You are still working in my life to heal me and improve me and help me find my way out of areas that need light. I pray that in due time You will heal my scars and help me overcome all my struggles, for You know everything about me and all that is in my heart. Help me embrace Your everlasting freedom even when I don't understand what I go through, and may You use those weaknesses for Your glory. Let me keep on smiling for You, that I may continue to have hope in my sufferings, for I know that I am blessed when I suffer for Your sake. You are my Lord and my Light, and I am grateful to be reminded that I still have You, in which what I lack need not compare. Yup, this quote confirms your an idiot...."Modern Sonic wasn't in Sonic 3, you idiot. If he was, It would be my least favorite Classic Sonic title."Yup, this quote confirms your an idiot....2 years ago in Personal More Like This
Now first of all, obviously modern Sonic was in Sonic 3 when he was young and in his classic Sonic design. Now to the real subject involving this quote, sure it's alright if someone dislikes his new design and prefers his younger design, but seriously, what person would dislike a game over the design SEGA uses? This quote has pretty much told me he is the most biased Sonic fan I have had the displeasure of talking to. The kind of fan that would put model design over gameplay and level design and let this cloud his views on what might be the best Sonic game ever. What a disgrace.....
Stumbling BlocksMore than enough times in my life I've felt that my parents (and even my relatives) have been a stumbling block for growing in the faith due to their hypocritical actions. And so during those times I would wonder to myself, "Is it wrong that I tend to have these thoughts about my family--that they serve as negative examples to the newer generations? It's no wonder my sister is an atheist and that my cousins are downright confused. When parents act so contrary and never admit to it, it's no wonder that other so-called 'Christian' families have children who don't follow the faith."Stumbling Blocks11 months ago in Personal More Like This
Sadly there are days when I do feel like the only sensible Christian in the household who has nowhere else to turn to but to God whenever these things happen. After all, Jesus is the very best example to follow. So I give the Lord my thoughts. And I don't ever hold back from Him.
Honestly, there are several reasons why I am choosing to not have children of my own, and a few of those reasons have to do with my

Afraid that He won't answer your prayers because...
...your sins are overbearing?
...you have sinned so much that He won't ever listen to you?
...you think that He thinks your worries and requests are not important enough?
...you think that He won't forgive you?
...your prayers won't ever be answered?
...you are disobedient?
...you'll repeat the same mistakes over and over again?
...you have so many problems?
...your flaws are countless?
...you are not good enough?
...you are not worthy?
...you are not loved by Him?
Some people assume that they have to be a perfectly good person to be heard by God.
So why did He send Jesus to us?
It's because we are imperfect.
It's because we are problematic.
It's because we have flaws.
It's because we are prone to making mistakes.
It's because we are sinners.
It's because sin exists in the world.
It's because we are unworthy.
It's because our works cannot save

Weaknesses. Imperfections. Flaws. Whatever you want to call them, we all have them; I don't care who you are. Naturally, this eventuality carries over to media. A character without some kind of flaw is usually written off as being impossibly perfect, so care is usually taken to avoid that kind of assumption.
The Sonic the Hedgehog series is no different. No member of the cast is the best at everything or loved by all. Whether it is a physical weakness, a personality quirk, or something else entirely, each character is flawed in some way and, in turn, those flaws make him or her more relatable.
I'll list the flaws for everyone who's been in action over the past few years.
Sonic the Hedgehog: Cocky, arrogant, impatient, can't swim, bad tempered. Sonic is also a natural showoff.
Dr. Ivo "Eggman" Robotnik: Childish, egotistical, rash, diabolical, cowardly, stubborn, cheap, evil, greedy. Eggman is rather full of himself, too.
Miles "Tails" Prower: Weak, somewhat low sel

He even GIVES us the reason he shouldn't!
Seriously Archie, if there a reason that you try to defy all the laws of characterization, quality writing, development, or consistency? Is there? It only looks like bias is the reasoning.
Anyway: I am a fan who hates the idea of Sonic really having a steady relationship. I really am. Although I feel that if he DID have one, Amy would be his best choice, I think he shouldn't unless it's needed.
And do you guys know why this is so? It is very simple.
Sonic is a character that is BASED ON FREEDOM. That is all that Sonic is based on. Freedom is his life, and his motive. And it takes the form in his being not only a hero, but simply the "world's fastest hedgehog".
The reason that he loves running is the feeling of freedom that goes with it.
In truth, freedom is sorta what makes Sonic, Sonic.
So please, can somebody tell me why it is that this character who IS based on freedom would even want to be tied down?

Moralism and the Aspiring StorytellerOnce again, I've come across a situation that led to further research and some major food for thought.Moralism and the Aspiring Storyteller1 year ago in Personal More Like This
(Bear with me; if you don't like reading then you are not familiar with what I do here on deviantART.)
Anyway, it all started when I came across some articles about VeggieTales and how the creator, Phil Vischer, had regretted the moralism of his work:
And it got me thinking, wow...that's quite a big thing for Vischer to have said that. It made me think twice and ask myself if I would be potentially guilty of approaching my own planned projects in such a way.
Which then led to this article, from someone else's thoughts and perspective of modern preaching:
...which brings up a really good point about how we cannot avoid the moral teachings of
