Animation/Art/Career/etc. Q and A?I've been working since graduating more than 4 years now, and I've improved a lot over these years. It's a very different environment from college to professional studio work. I have friends that graduated same year as me but some quit animation entirely and some are still trying to find an entry level job. I flew out to LA from NYC 1 month after graduating, for an internship at Titmouse, when there were merely 20-ish people around. I was hired after two months of testing, and my first job was a clean-up artist/animation in betweenner.Animation/Art/Career/etc. Q and A?3 years ago in Personal More Like This
a little side story, I signed up for "animation" major thinking it's 3d for game cinematics, and it turned out to be on paper, stayed 4 years, 3d seemed pretty technical as to learning the programs and know how to use it. Drawing is more... fun... and direct. Then I watched animation films like Ghost in the Shell, Jin Roh, Ninja Scroll... etc.
If anyone would like to ask any animation related questions pls comment below and I'd be happy to answer them.

The Making of YOSHINARI'S LITTLE WITCH ACADEMIAFor all aspiring artists/ students who whish to work in 2D animation production, and those already in 2D animation who know little to nothing about actual 2D animation production, here is but a glimpse of what it's like. This is also a pretty brilliant program enacted by Japanese grants to nurture the talent pool for the new generation. Watch director Yoh Yoshinari (gurren Lagaan, Evangelion, FLCL) train 5 young animators at his newly founded animation company STUDIO TRIGGER (KIll LA KILL), as he guides them through the process of helping him create the first episode of the wildly popular Little Witch Academia OVA. Inspiring stuff and a true peek behind the curtain of what it's like for young artists/creatives/animators who work under a giant like Yoshinari. The Making of YOSHINARI'S LITTLE WITCH ACADEMIA1 year ago in Personal More Like This
Discrimination Towards Anime In ART SCHOOL!So i just read an artical, and saw alll the negitive responses, about a particular cammy drawing. You can check it out for youself. But basically they were over critisizing a beautiful drawing. It was the first time I chimed in. But i Thought i'd share this with you as well, since deviantart is where the true art community lives.Discrimination Towards Anime In ART SCHOOL!2 years ago in Personal More Like This
Little description of what i talk about. I talk about the "hater-ade" culture i experienced in ART SCHOOL. Discrimination towards ANIME! And BASHING ON OTHER PEOPLE! This includes TEACHERS WHO HATED on students. And let me put a disclaimer out there because I didnt mention it, 80% of the ART TEACHERS(not talking about the liberalarts teachers, pyschology, math, english etc.) were absolutely amazing, and I love them. 5% were so so. ANd the 15% or so left were of the hating decent.
(again, this is response to a post I saw at kotaku, Heres a link to the Picture and discussion http://kotaku.com/gender-bending-mega-man-street-fighting-ladies-and-a-b-466977509)
