I hated starting at a new school this year.
Senior year was supposed to be the most exciting year of my life well at least until I graduate college, turn twenty-one and get married. Senior year was supposed to be my year but my parents had changed all that when they enrolled me in the 'immersion' program. For so many years humans and giants had been kept separated from one another but now, not only were there enough giants in the world that they no longer could be homeschooled, but they were now being permitted to be co-educated.
I thought it was a great idea, in theory, but certainly did not want to be part of the immersion process. Not everyone was on board with this idea and I was aware of that. There were some giants that still believed that humans were either 'too fragile' to be around, or that they should be treated as though we were beneath them. It was our planet! I didn't understa

For twenty years, give or take, Carol Walding viewed conquering some certain fears as overrated; avoidance was just as commendable in her eyes.
So as she sat quietly in the large, solemn office, under the scrutinous gaze of the austere Colonel Jackson, she wondered what decisions in her life caused her to end up here.
"It's quite illogical, Carol." Colonel Jackson was a longtime friend of the family, possibly her father's best friend, but as he spoke with her that evening, his voice was leveled and professional; though he still had trouble concealing the underlining concern he held for her. "Your fear that is; it's irrational." He softly tapped the tip of his pen onto the desk and leaned onto his elbows; watching the girl carefully from across the table.
Carol slumped into her chair and sighed; she had been getting this conversation all week and she was growing ever tired of people telling her tha
Small Comforts ~ GT"DAMN IT!" A violently, pounding, voice suddenly vibrated against the air around the small human and she jumped, squeaking in terror at the suddenness of Jason's aggressive anger. The ground beneath her rumbled furiously with each enraged impact his enormous feet took with the ground and into the house, the vibrations seeping into the pads of her own feet and rattling up her legs to send her entire body trembling violently.Small Comforts ~ GT2 years ago in Short Stories More Like This
"DAMI IT, DAMN IT, DAMN IT!!!" He hissed again, shaking Cameron's ribcage and spine with unintentional force and terrifying her into cowering behind an opposing table leg in the kitchen.
It had been three months that she had lived here now, lived here with one of THEM, the monstrous species of giants that overrun the defenseless humans and degraded them to mere pets (and rumored snacks). Though it hadn't been as terrifying as she first thought it would be to live with a breathing mountain, in fact, she actually found herself feeling rather fond and affectionate towa

The hunger was driving him insane, and he'd do almost anything to stop it. He looked down rubbing his stomach. "Oh, I could eat anything!" He muttered, when an attractive girl, roughly his age passed. When he saw her, his hunger exploded, stomach growling like an animal! He smiled evily, saying, "I said anything." "Indeed it is. But why do you want to be a shifter so badly?"
The question crashed down on the willing test subject. He knew the answer all too well: "I-I thought that maybe then I could be more able to fight back against the titans... And not feel as much like the underdog." Hanji took a second to consider this reason. "You never have been an underdog the entire time you've been in the Survey Corps, Armin. But if this is really what you want..."
The day was a rather quiet one- one of the few days the soldiers who had graduated from the 104th had off, and everyone was enjoying it- everyone except Eren. It had been hours since the last time anyone had seen Armin, and the brunette was getting worried. "Hanji, do

" .One down fifty six more to go " Jason sighed heavily as he set down the electrical engineering textbook and slumped back into his desk's chair. His notepad now held a full-scale circuit unit for a high end voltage electrical switch, hooked up to several others. It mazed around his page and he finished it off with a few labels here and there. He had been reluctantly working on that for the past hour and a half, and just when his spirits raised at its completion, they came crashing back down as he glanced over the assigned work.
"Uuugh .ill never get this done in time!" He couldn't help burying his face in his hands and moan in exhaustion. "Its too much!" he complained to his empty living room. Luckily there was enough room for a work desk right beside a bookcase when he first moved in, otherwise he would be in his bedroom or on the couch, and he was easily distracted. The large TV sat behind him on a far off wall and th

He ran a hand through his short golden brown hair and closed his eyes, trying to ignore the pain. His arm was killing him. He had mentally bashed himself for three days now- for reaching for the wrong rock in climbing the mountain face. The jagged rock left a nasty gash in his arm. He had bandaged it up to the best of his abilities, but his job involved camping out in the deep of woods many a night, and the lack of proper sanitation was taking its toll. When the sun began to sink in the sky, he removed his camouflage and started a small fire. Leaning back against a sequoia, Jude unraveled the dirty strip of bandage and groaned.
"Oh that is definitely infected..."
In his experience, the quickest route from place to place was a straight path. He made his own way across the varied terrain instead of trying to shuffle along the marked routes. It was more efficient, and stress-saving to avoid that mess of people. He had settled down in an isolated c

He finally had a chance to be by himself- the humans didn’t come near this part of the country. So he was safe from any interrupting yells of fright or disgust. He took a deep breath of the fresh air, then shut his eyes sleepily. A short nap was all he wished for…
Five year old Kelly had seen this giant more than once. He was enormous- he seemed bigger than the first time she had seen him! She could see his gargantuan body lying in the emerald green meadow. He appeared to be sleeping…
It was Kelly’s chance! She looked down at her school backpack and took out her pair of binoculars. She peered through them, zooming in onto the giant’s face. His eyelids were shut, and his great mouth was open slightly.
He was definitely asleep.
Kelly was beyond excited . She could approach him easily now… She clapped her hands

All he could think of was energy- his lack of it and how much he needed it. He was pathetic, really-just one day of pushing through heavy doors that haven't been open for centuries, battling creatures who thrived in the dank, stale air already made him weak-kneed. His legs shuddered. What would happen if he passed out here? He'd wake up in the gullet of some Din-forsaken abomination.
He checked his bottles again as if he thought supplies were just going to appear in them magically. All empty. Already he used a fairy to heal him and drank down two helpings of insect larvae- now he was left with nothing.
Midna was quiet as usual. It made him uncomfortable to know that she was underneath him, in his shadow, silently watching up his legs. Creepy. Once or twice he heard her chuckle darkly when he was sent flying

It was an average, slightly warm day in the village of Konohagakure. Through the front gates entered a certain teenage Uchiha. The teen's wild, red tipped black hair flowed slightly in the breeze as he strolled casually into his village. The young genin was wearing a red, short sleeved shirt and an Uchiha emblem around his neck. He suddenly came to a stop and his black eyes surveyed over the surrounding buildings.
"Finally back " announced Sakumo Uchiha, the son of Sasuke Uchiha. The red-clad shinobi breathed in the familer air of Konoha and tucked his hands into the pockets of his pants. Sakumo had been away for the past week on a mission involving the tracking and capture of some thief. The criminal had been very troublesome to catch and even when Sakumo had finally turned the man in he still wasn't allowed to return home. He was forced to stay another day while the local authorities confirmed the thief's identity; apparently messing up his face like he had wasn't the brightest

Several years ago, when I had been about eight years old, I lost both of my parents to the sea; the two of them had loved to travel on the water—they had their own boat and everything. They would take me along with them too so that I could experience the beauty of the oceans and the sea. My life had been the water, but the water was what also tore my happy days apart...
It had been a stormy night in August: we were traveling along the Cape Cod when the waves suddenly grew rougher and more violent. On the strongest gale of wind and tide pressure, it had caused the boat to tip until the moment where my father lost control; my parents had known that we weren't going to make it. As my father wrestled with his crew,
I Was the First Chapter OneI was the first and maybe the only one to see the giant's boat that day. I stood on the beach like the friendless person I was now and let my mouth hang open when they crested the horizon. It wasn't a crowded beach, it never was because the island I lived on was so remote but I still wished that at least someone was there to confirm that I was the first to seem them approach. I wished someone would have been there with me. There were three of them on the small boat and I felt my toes dig into the white sand as the three unearthly individuals approached the shoreline, their eyes all settling on the tiny female who must have only looked a few inches tall to them. Shifting her backpack around, she stretched up to the first low-hanging limb she could reach and proceeded to lift herself upward. Eventually, she made it to the top, stopping to t

Giants were not as magical and mythical as humans make them out. They were not as tall as skyscrapers or anything and they were not seeking out humans as meals. They weren't hideous troll creatures either that didn't wear proper clothing and covering either. Not all of them live and wandered all. Those fairytales and folktales completely twisted the truth. People hunted after them as though they were beasts of burden and told stories to their children in order to scare them from wandering off by themselves at night since "the giants would find them and eat them."
In truth, giants, to put it into the simplest of terms, looked exactly like humans, just obviously bigger. They weren't so big that they towered ov

It was your typical, average Saturday at the Okumura brothers' dorm. Oddly, someone else was walking the halls today. Sixteen year-old Renzo Shima was busy texting on his cell phone after having a chat with Yukio about his grades as of late. Usually the pink haired teen wouldn't have minded such a talk, but it had forced him to miss an important date.
"Great, now she hates me." Shima mumbled as he read the last not-too-friendly text message and snapped his phone shut before pocketing it. "That's the third chick this month. Am I losing my touch?" Shima laced his arms behind is head and stared at the ceiling as he thought. "I think she had a pretty hot sister, maybe I could-"
Shima stopped in mid-sentence when he heard, and felt, a wet crunch under his right foot. Barely moving his head; the young Exorcist-in-training looked down at his shoe and gulped. He slowly pulled back his foot to reveal the squashed remains of some kind of beetle-like bug. It's yellow, slimy guts were all over the
