"So your friends are braving the Volcano?" Luna asked, her eyes not opening.
"That is the plan." Adrienne agreed, floating over to the shrine next to Eris.
"You are a blessing to our Village. Brave souls who dare to make a difference."
"Really, I'm just a baker, a terrible one at that who wanted to protect the ones she loved." Eris admitted.
"And I'm only a waitress, making minimum wage and wasting her life in a giant squash." Adrienne replied, bitterly. Luna raised one eyebrow at the mention of the Lumpy Pumpkin but knew better than to judge.
"I feel like I'm...floating." Eris said, feeling zen.
"Me too." Adrienne said, actually levitating up off the ground.
Little did they know, the knights were creeping up behind them, trying to spook the girls. However, though Luna wasn't expecting it, the men were making a ton of noise to slide past Eris and Adrienne unnoticed.

"Ouch." Eris said rubbing the red spots. She examined her ankle.
"Ouch!" She repeated.
There was a loud noise of falling metal. She curled in the corner defensively, her big green eyes darting around like fireflies. She covered the bottom of her face with the torn blanket she nicked out of the supply cabinet (there was a weak point in the bars).
Daring not to speak, she pulled her feet in. There were footstep noises. Slam. Her eyelids closed automatically. The footsteps drew nearer and nearer until she had thought they were right on top of her. She opened one eye slowly.
"It's OK. We're leaving now." said an extended arm with a hand.
Everything washed away like a watercolor painting in the rain.
